Don't Get Sued For Forgetting to Shut That Gate With Livestock!!!

Leaving a gate accidentally open when dealing with livestock can cause damage to property, death of the animal or person, and/or civil liability. It only takes one time and it could be all over. To avoid this problem, make it a routine to always secure the gate when exiting with equipment or your self. The time you think you'll go back and secure it, then forget about it, animals will get out and the problems could begin. It's happened to me and has made me paranoid ever since. I have watched it happen to my neighbors and they have a meltdown. Fortunately only yards got destroyed. But the potential for more exists. Be smart and make sure your gates are always secure. Don't assume it won't happen to you.

Never understood why some people are gate neglegent. Is it really that hard to close it behind you ? And make sure it’s latched ? It takes just seconds to make sure and prevent a lifetime of regret.

It's easy to forget or get your mind on something else. You really need to think about this when leaving a gated area. I have so much going all the time it's easy to forget. I let 20 horses out by accident. It was awful. I never forgot that experience and I think about it all the time. That's why I made the video.

@@BradKemp62 omgosh, I wasn’t meaning to fire on you. Honestly I while typing I had my own experience with this kind of thing going thru my mind. It happens daily. I no longer have horses or dogs to worry about getting out anymore , it’s what or who that might get in thru an open gate that I worry about.
