Ahhh getting close..counting down days 2nd Saturday in September here in North GA. My 6 yr old son and I put out camera yesterday..thanks for your videos and the time/information you put in them
You explain it in simple terms, simple logic and everyone should get it. Makes you anxious to get back out there (Michigan) and finish the plans and work that has started. Two more plots to finish and connecting brouse trails leading to water holes, mock scrapes and stands. This summer has been a ton of work but you've outlined all the steps, I'm just connecting the sweat dots to success this fall. Thanks Doc
Great video Jeff, I’m in the middle of this process, getting 3.5 year olds consistently. Getting a couple 4.5 year olds. Won’t be long my target age will bump to 4.5. Hopefully in the next few years. So exciting to watch the development. You’re a big source of my strategies for that I’m very appreciative!
We have been using your books and videos, and sealing the higher holes in our bucket. Hunting better is our greatest challenge. I'm a wetland biologist in Delaware with 40 years of bow hunting experience who has learned a lot from you. Thanks again.
good morning! keep em coming! i can not tell you how much you have changed the way i hunt! i love working at my 40 towards completing my habitat plan! a true labor of love. THANK YOU!
Love the videos Jeff. I haven't seen a video talking about predators and deer heard management. If we build food plots but deer are disrupted by predators and the young bucks don't make it the first year what do we do?
Great comments...some of our neighbors are also hunting aged bucks and I believe it helps the neighborhood grow more mature bucks. Hope you are doing well with the new land and you can stop by soon. The buckwheat is coming up. Thanks again for all the great information you share. Bob
Interesting video Jeff! How would one manage buck age structures on public land parcels? Could this be achieved without using cameras? I have made it a goal to cover Michigan public land in ONX tracks, but the only conclusion I have come to is the difference in age structure from wilderness to ag. I seem to have trouble identifying how different a herd can be on a chunk 10 miles away or if passing that small buck on public land is helping any.
Jeff can you help with expanding on say 1,000’s mono hills , pines etc and have good numbers in June July February plus it still peaks in oct nov ams dec. some bucks shift off us and some shift and still are on us. We have 850 acres and some mayors show up for fall and leave and then some our biggest leave for rut and maybe even be in border and come on us but staying on neighbor and come back thanksgiving or after and stay til next velvet shed time. We shed aug 28-sept 12 yearly avg in our 12 years on that land. It feels like we fit everything you say so how do we dig deeper???? Thanks for all videos! We are 3 or 4 years into your methods and last year mock scrapes with me peeing in them lol got better pics than any food plot or feeder or mineral site and was mind blowing for most and some Weeks if not scrape cams we wdnt get any bucks on cams that week so mock scrapes saved us for Intel on bucks.
What's interesting is in PA almost all the yearlings are off limits. If I could find a way to keep the 1.5-ers off and start protecting then starting at 2.5 I'd be set.
Thanks Jeff! Hunt smart is sometimes waiting to hear the neighbors gator start up and you’ve been sitting an hour. Every opener and most weekend. Got a couple on the wall thanks to their Gator.😁
Nothing like being settled and ready for light and hear camps start up and roll out to stands and your sitting there smiling. We have rifle doe week in ark before rifle opener and we don’t participate on purpose bc we gain 2 to 3 shooters a year solely off the neighbors pressure in woods that week and our lease silent. We don’t even bow hunt for bucks that wkend and it’s works.
Howdy Jeff i hunt in New Hampshire and iv'e been watching your buck bedding videos but the problem i find is usually i'm finding beds in the hemlocks but the problem is mixed in with the hemlocks is oaks so they can latterly stand up walk 10 feet and feed what do you recommend to zero in on them (it's private property)
Back in the ewrly 2000s a couple of years...slow growing not s good deer food plot variety. To little volume too. I would never recommend it...always a better option.
If im putting a access trail along the edge of a property and a looping travel corridor inside of that, i know to try and fall the trees for the access trail to the interior side for screening. On the travel corridor though, should i double up and fall the trees to the outside edge to screen even more or stagger between inside and outside? Thanks

Whats the best way to hunt them with a bow in a swamp with lots of cat tails
I've learned from from your vids about thermals
Also trying this year placing the camera high in tree
Great way to explain it Jeff!!
Thank you Brian!
makes me feel real fortunate to have a 7.5 on the lease this fall.

Thank you Robert and man, so true ☺️ And I bet they would disagree to the end, that their Gator hurt anything...
