    This is by far the best video you have ever put out! I would love to see more of these critique videos because I think more land owners can take this and relate it to their own property. This is the perfect land manager’s video!

    These videos are quickly becoming part of my morning coffee routine as I try to refine my plans on a property in ND. A wealth of information. Well done Jeff and WHS Team. Looking forward to the education. The hunting will follow.

    Dang, hunting seasons over and definitely see a drop in views/likes... I think your best videos are during off-season so people better get to watching up!! Thanks Jeff for the best information on Whitetail deer!!

    GREAT VIDEO! Jeff, would it be possible to have a complete walk through video? (Showing poor habitat and later improvements) Maybe share the before and after drawings. Then an aerial view with break down of property features. Then a walk through, showing why the property design was set up the way it was.

    11 minutes in, that question from Mike about concerns about bedding on neighbors property - has to be a concern for many others. Considering the neighbor's access to hunt that bedding was a huge light bulb moment for me! Had the same exact concern when considering putting some of my food near the property border.

    I'm still not clear on why deer would leave my food plot at night to go to ag. I know youve got this down to a sceince and have the answer.
    Thanks jeff .another great vidio.

    This was great; the visual with the various landmarks and colored key was tremendous in helping me better understand real world application of the concepts you teach. Instead of global / wide-ranging discussion we as viewers got to watch you critique (good and bad) what this landowner did!

    Question: how do different neighbors effect your poker hand? I liked your insight on neighbors pushing towards Mike’s as they get to their stands. I’d love a breakdown on how to play our hands. Thanks!

      I’m curious as well. I’ve thought of banding with my neighbors to create an “extension” of my habitat practices, but I worry what if they sell and new owners don’t have the same practices.

    I haven’t found a video of yours on this topic, but maybe talk sometime on any improvements or things I can do on a property where landowner doesn’t allow tree cutting. I hunt 10 acre fairly flat rectangle of hardwood with big ag all around in southern Michigan. Deer movement changes yearly with crop rotation of alfalfa, corn, beans, and triticale. I’ve never used food plots due to canapy cover, mostly just hunt over the alfalfa. Thanks for all the great videos

    Hi Jeff, thanks for all your content. Got a question I was hoping you could answer and maybe do a video on. Can I plant Egyptian wheat this year and then switchgrass in the winter? How do I prepare the ground when making the switch?

    My property is heavy conifer throughout most of the property in Northern setting. Property runs east to west, only ag on the far east side. Food plots on the west side of the property and seams like deer use my plots as a destination plot and not as a holding or hunting plot. Am I dreaming lol. Also very low pressure.

    I commented on one of your other videos about switchgrass. You replyed and said it costs 10$ per acre. Your sponsor has 25# bags for 334$. They recommend 5-10 lbs per acre. Are you only spreading 3/4 lbs per acre?

    • @whitetailhabitatsolutions9751
      @whitetailhabitatsolutions9751  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's actually less than $5 per acre per ywar...based on the fact that switchgrass last decades if managed correctly. That's IF you buy high quality seed to begin with and plant it right 😉

    It looks like most of the stand locations are evening stands near food. Are there morning bedding area stands?

  • @whitetailhabitatandhunting
    @whitetailhabitatandhunting 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Thanks Jeff! I have a question of how close to my bedding area should I put a water hole? And also where do you get your water tanks?

    • @jessemoore7696
      @jessemoore7696 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      He said to use a Rubbermaid 100+ gallon tank or a Tuff Stuff Heavy Duty 100 gallon or bigger. He didn't give an exact distance for the trough to be from the bedding area or feeding area. He said there should be a stand over the water trough and licking branch which should within close proximity of each other. If I remember correctly you shouldn't be able to see the food plot from the water trough and vice versa. Jeff Sturgis is the whitetail buck whisper.

    When's the first time you wud spray if you if you were planting switchgrass in June with a drill.

    • @matulala2000
      @matulala2000 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I believe Jeff has said for newly established switchgrass (where the ground is not prepared the year before) to plan for 3 sprayings before seeding. 3rd spraying can be at same time that you drill; 2nd spraying is 3 weeks prior to seeding; 1st spraying is 2-3 weeks after spring greenup (usually sometime in April). Hope that helps.
