In the shorts, Dippers Guide to the Unexplained, specifically the mailbox short, it is said that the world will end (in their universe) in the year 3012, Gravity Falls takes place during 2012. Bill killed Time Baby during Weirdmaggedon, and the code at the end of the episode reads as follows “It will take 1,000 years for him to reconstitute his molecules, after which he will be extremely cranky.” So no, Bill didn’t save the future, he caused that future to happen.
