  • I decided the throw some Seafoam in the crankcase of the old 3.3 Supecharged Xterra to see if it would reduce some of the ticking and clicking that comes wth 340000+ Km's. Watch and find out how it did!

Like one guy said MMO is god send from heaven people truly look past it. I used to rub that stuff on the underside of ny dirtbike fenders and it helped tremendously 😅 also check your passenger manifold for any cracks

MMO is the trick. worked on worse engines 100 years ago.. my grandpa told me some bs about squirting some into each sparkplug hole overnight and the next day just turning it over and spitting out the MMO... plug up and prime and start

don't know if you still have the ticking problem, or if this might help, but I saw a video talking about how they get rid of the ticking and you rev the engine in park for about 2 minutes at 3000 RPM and it's supposed to get the oil moving up into the lifters, anyway, I gave it a try after oil change on my Xterra and Durango, and guess what, no more ticks. I tried the seafoam, which works great for certain problems but did nothing for the ticking, and props for the oil pan video, I was told I'd have to remove trans and lift the engine, but a little grinding, not so bad. thanks again.

It still ticks but it's not constant, but I will give that a try! Thanks!

Did you check the oil pickup tube and screen when you had the oil pan off?
I have the VG30 in my 95 D21, pretty much the sam as your Exterra. Replacing lifters helped the ticking for a bit but it came back quickly . My top end was super sludgy, previous owner skimped on the maintenance I think. I suspect clogged oil pick up tube/oil pump…. Ive been delaying dropping the diff, came to your channel to see how you did it.

The pickup didn't have too much sludge built up on it. I've been pretty religious with the oil changes since buying the Xterra so I think thats helped a lot
