New to your channel. I will also be doing Writing and Rhetoric with my 3rd grader this coming year. I did it this year with my 4th grader. My biggest advice is to do the first few lessons 100% together. So do all the writing of summaries, amplifications, and rewrites as a team. It helped my daughter get a better understanding of what I was looking for as a final product. When I just read the instructions and discussed it with her, she still struggled with what to put down on the paper. By the fourth lesson things really clicked for her.

You're welcome! While the information is out there I don't think it's talked about and shared enough. Before I bought the curriculum I downloaded it for free so that I could really go through and see where my kids are. The great thing is that you can tailor it all for your kids. ❤️
My kids wouldn't want to do songs either, I never thought of using them as text. Love your 50 states unit, I might do something similar for Canada. We are wrapping up 3rd grade here along with 6th and 10th.
Thanks for this. I am new to homeschooling gor next year and really unsure about curriculum. You have a couple of things I have chosen for my 3rd grader. I wish I would just kept him home after covid. He was in Kindergarten during Covid and he thrived at home. Now, not so good. I am taking him out of the school system.
Your son might enjoy beast academy...I have not started it yet can't afford work books yet. My plan is once a week as logic/critical thinking work. We us math u see..can't change without making my 12 year old feel stupid because I have not pushed anything 🤦♀️.
I am so excited to find another secular homeschooler to watch!
