Yeah that's the combo that I use in my X-Maxx. Max 5 and 1100kv 5687 motor with 25/35 gearing. It's a freaking BEAST. I just had a to upgrade a few things to keep it together. Good comparison. Check out my X-Maxx in my channel. Subscribed.
I’ve had the Xmaxx for about 6 months with all stock electronics so when I ran across this video I had to watch and hit subscribe!! I run 19/46 hot racing steel gears and it’s awesome!! I’ll keep the stock electrics in it cause really don’t see a lot of difference in the exspensive hobbywing setups. Either way the Xmaxx for the win!!!!
Yes, if you compare the stock electrics combined with a 19/46 ratio the end speed won’t be a big of a difference. Although with the Hobbywing setup you have more power, which result in better wheelies and more control in the air. My 1100kV setup is coming, so click on that notification bell for new video updates! Thanks for subscribing, and yes X-maxx FTW!
I disagree. You can't compare the torque of the 1/5 electronics compared to stock. I need the extra torque because I just use my low angled ramps to get single and double backflips. Way more power than stock. More fun for me at least. And more top speed.
@@michaelvankirk3576 It's funny because the OP said that the HW stuff is expensive, when in fact the Max 5 and 1100kv 5687 motor are cheaper than a new 8s Traxxas ESC and motor 🤣. Yeah you have to add motor mounts and esc plates to make them work, but they are worth it. Like I said, way more torque, top speed and control in the air 🚀👍
You are right on that, HXR_RC. The extra weight will reduce the durability. But it is more the extra torque from the motor, which will demand a lot from your drivetrain.
My xmaxx is on max6 22/50. Motor is fried and thinking of the 1100kv upgrade. Is it worth the money/time to mod it? The 22/50 is already 50 mph and plenty fast.
In my opinion it is definitely worth to mod to a 1100kv. the extra power will result in higher top speed and faster acceleration! Keep in mind that your Max6 can shut down due to temperature protection. I have swapped my Max6 to a Max5. Either way, enjoy your X-Maxx!
That 1100 motor is such a big upgrade I wasn’t happy at all with the stock xMaxx electronics.
Nice video running these machines.
Just did the 1100 upgrade this week , glad to see I chose the right thing . Good one guys
Thanks mate! Good to hear you are happy with this upgrade.

where can i get complete 1.5 gearing kit ?
Hi Oliver. I got the parts for my conversion from different shops. Just google for Xmaxx 1.5 modification and you will get the information jou need!
Definitely faster but by how much losing toooo much traction on the sand hard to tell 😎👍🏻🇬🇧
Loved it 👍. New subscriber Bro 👊👊
Thanks a lot, mate!

@@joseCalderon1976 I agree my x-maxx woke the hell up when I added the mama monster x 8s and the hobby wing 1650 KV motor now it's a beast 💪

Lol hobby wing expensive lol 😆😂🤣 how long you been in this hobby week lil boy 👦
What about weight comparison? Lighter the better in terms of durability

@@Dutch-RC-Adventures thanks for the reply and warning! I went ahead and ordered the 1100kv :)
The shop suggested mod 1 30/54 gears. Not sure the ratios and hope it will be ok
HW 1100kv motor paired with the Max6 over here. I love it. Thanks for the comparison video!
Great, I hope you will enjoy it!

It is actually 🇳🇱, Jeff 😄👍🏻
