- Hey guys, hope you all enjoyed this extremely fun and eye-opening video, No pun intended hahaha!
My purpose in these videos is to show the world how blind individuals can live their life independently through a lot of confidence, determination, a positive mindset, through blind navigation tools such as the white cane or a guide dog, amazing technology, with personal assistance, and a whole lot of joy!!! Also, more than anything, my hope is that these videos can encourage other fellow blind friends in the community to step out of their comfort zone and live a more full life. Even though they may not have eyesight, I hope to encourage them to see that an amazingly beautiful life is still possible if they never give up!
By the way, my friend Amanda in this video is simply one of my closest most beautiful friends God has blessed me with. As you can hear in this video, she and I always have so much fun together. One of the things that makes our friendship so fun beyond our happy personalities, she too is a TH-camr. Linking below her cooking and inspirational TH-cam channel for you all to check out. Thanks for your shopping trip,I had breast cancer in 87 then in 93 had the breast implants put in. Then developed blood clots under them had to have them removed then blood clots taken out.just wanted you to be aware that blood clots under them is a possible side effect about four years later.
This was so fun. I enjoyed every minute of it. It kind of reminds me of the fun videos you and Tracy do sometimes.

Recently I was at a thrift store browsing the black dress section (so it all sort of looks the same on the rack), and all I was doing actually was FEELING for a dress that felt nice and then pulling it out of the very full rack to see what it looked like. Later that day, I thought that was something you do all the time too! Love you Joy!

Please be careful next time with the mannequins joy! I worked at target and those magnetic arms hurt when they pinch your fingers, not to mention they’re heavy and I had both the mannequin and the base fall on me more than once. Lol! That top looks AMAZING on you by the way, you’re looking radiant!

Cool how u able to shop with a cell and the right apps even if u had a friend to say but showing how apps are being made incase u are along by chance anytime. so much we take for granted anytime that if we was by chance blind it would take time to adjust anytime. hope some day u able to get ur sight back so u able to see for reals again anytime.

Thank you so very much! And no, I’m actually going to be getting a guide dog hopefully in the next few to several months. I put my guide dog application on hold while I was getting my life together this past year. Anyways, hopefully I will have some good news to report to you all here very soon. Going to be doing a video on this topic

Hello it’s so good to hear your voice again
Joy, I enjoy watching your videos and seeing how you navigate daily life! It’s very interesting to see all that most of us take for granted. With that being said, I work at a Target, and please do not do this in the future. Our team works very hard in dressing our mannequins and they all have to be dressed and undressed a particular way, so if you ever need something off of a mannequin(and this goes for anyone) PLEASE ask an employee and do not try to remove it yourself. It creates more work for us, and we get in trouble whenever our areas are messy/not well presented (such as undressed mannequins).
Again, nothing against you personally, and I really do enjoy your content, I’m just commenting from the perspective of an employee 😂
Oh, you know that was never my intention but thanks for letting me know. Actually, what you did not see in the video that Amanda saw when we weren’t filming, there was an employee that came right up two feet behind me and did not even say a word. Amanda talk to her, but she didn’t say anything. We would’ve been open to getting help, but when an employee walks up and doesn’t offer help what are we supposed to do. If they actually had a problem with it, wouldn’t you think they would’ve said something? That’s why we continued, because the employee was right there with me and she smiled and walked off. Anyways, I just wanted to fill you in on what you didn’t see, but I understand where you’re coming from
@@JoyRoss I completely understand! I know that you would never intentionally do something like that. The employee that was near you was likely from a different department and didn’t know how to properly assist you (or quite frankly was rushing to get a task done, as many of ours are timed). In my store, whenever we see someone needing help with a mannequin, we call for a team member in the style department to assist

You could have noise indicators to guide you North, south, east, and west. That would help.
That does exist, kind of. They are called indoor beacons and are a work in progress.

My favorite is peanut butter cups, chocolate all the way milk chocolate and dark chocolate, and I also like to drink hot chocolate when a kids down in the 30s here in Tampa. Oh and chocolate ice cream with brownies or cookies in it

I am praying in the next few months. Because of my life situation over the last year, I had to put my application on hold. Now it is back up and going and hopefully I will have some exciting news to report in the next month or so!

Oh joy please be so careful while out touching so many items and then touching your eyes sweetie, I’m sure a infection or irritation could set in your eye sockets just the same as anyone else’s so easily.💗my question is, what if your in a busier store and there’s much more customers around? I’m sure u can’t always sway your stick so widely or freely at those times. Also have u ever hit anyone or ran into someone who may of had there back towards you? Regardless what a champ!! I am certain if I lost my sight I’d be a nervous wreck going anywhere alone, or asking for help…what a strong, independent woman!!🙏🏼💗 God Bless

My favorite chocolate you may ask? It’s all of them. Also, blind facts, did you know that blind people love any candy? If it taste bad to them they throw it out. If it’s a good texture and if you call Ira Joy, they might tell you what it is, so happy to see you ha ha also, please reply to email if you can, not trying to ask you this over and over again. Me too. My sister TEE is older than me we went to the dollar store to buy chips and sodas. So she put me to the test. She handed me two different bags of chips. And I filled the bag and I told her one was Doritos and the other was the Portillo chips. And then she tested me on the sodas the bottles. She gave me a bottle and I said this is either Pepsi or Coke and she said that’s correct she said because one is Pepsi and the other one is Coke. And then she handed me two of the bottles. And asked me what they were. I told her one Hass to be Sprite and the other must be 7-Up and she said I was correct. And then she gave me packs of cookies and I felt the pack of cookies and I can tell her just by to feel what cookies were worth. And I can do the same with Debbie cakes when you take them out the box. When I go The store which is me and my GUIDE DOGS. People at WALGREENS are amazed. I had this one guy he couldn’t believe that I can tell them what cookies were what in the package. So he put me to the test in his mind was blown. He said stay right here for a minute I’m Finna call my wife and he called his wife. Put her on FaceTime. And had me demonstrate to his wife because the wife could not believe it. So when I showed her it blew the husbands wife mind. And the lady said you just prove me wrong about how blind people who does not have any site or almost have no site can really know what they’re feeling just by the touch. And I told her I’ve been blind since I’ve been six months old and my hands or my eyes. She and she’s like wow. And the husband said thank you for proving my wife wrong. And I told him anytime.
Today, Joy gets to second base with FOUR mannequins!
