I wish people would stop comparing, it’s not fair, the show would never get so much hate if it wasn’t a reboot. However the only thing I have to say is, that has nothing to do with the original but their powers were extremely strong from the start, I wish they weren’t, it’s nice to see them evolve over the seasons. Even though they got newer powers. That’s the only thing. People give it low ratings without watching or they criticise it because it does “compare” to the original. It’s a new show. Let it be.
if they didn't want people to compare the original Charmed with the reboot , they should have just started a new show with a new name , and not try to use the original Charmed's success to gain viewers. Personally I couldn't stand the amount of Misandry and over-the-top feminism from Mel, so i stopped watching it.
People will not compare if they did not use the name ‘Charmed’ or ‘Charmed Ones’ branding... it’s unfair to the original cast they’re just capitalising on the name and pig back riding the success of the old show.
Taking the knife/source into herself was badass. I think Macy's demon powers (especially the demon blood that was given to her at infancy) are nothing short of gene control by metabolic enzymes; making her more powerful, smarter, taller and stronger. If I were the writers, I would have Macy react to stressful situations, like the loss of Harry, as if she were having an unconscious allergic reaction. I'd have her realize that she can never trade her demon powers away. It always returns, because it's copied within her DNA, and is actually the source of what's keeping her alive.
Not going to lie, if they hadn't tagged on Charmed (the one with Prue, Paige, Phoebe, and Piper) to the name then I probably would've liked it better. When you try to create a new show, it's not always good to attach it to an existing franchise because then it's helped to a certain expectation before it even begins
It would not, it was gonna happen like it happend in the secret circle, the og charmed fans whould see the similarity and whould attack like they are doing with the reboot and did with the secret circle. The problem is with the fandom itself the fandom became extremaly toxic and the og actresses give them even more gas to do bad thing and when the fans desegre with them they will be rude and put the blame on the reboot and this will make the fans blame the reboot. Well to be fair, Mel was on Macy's case and being standoffish in season 1, and i think it stems from her having an inferior complex. Mel's been the oldest sister only for Macy to pop up out of nowhere and take her spot as the oldest. And in the last few episodes, Macy had enough and just snapped on Mel a couple of times as a way to bring her down a peg or two "I'm the oldest and you need to fall back". Plus the tug of war for Maggie where Macy feels like she's missed out on having her full blooded sister in her life, and Mel feeling that Maggie will no longer look up to her as the older sister.

I'd actually have given this show a shot if they hadnt piggybacked on the original charmed only to make it a completely new show with no ties. you could have called this anything
They're not going to do a crossover or a spinoff on Macy because 1, she's dead and 2 the actress who played Macy left the show to pursue other ventures, also she wasn't in agreement with the direction of the character. And it will be pointless them doing a backstory on Macy because she didn't discover her witchery and the existence of demons until she made contact with her sisters. So as great of a character Macy was, it's safe to say that that chapter has officially ended with her essence going into the tree of magic.

I know she quit, but I would love to see a crossover of her being freed from the tree she's hanging on and finding herself in a world full of demons and she's the only witch with active powers. This show have lots of potential. The only drawback is the characters development are too fast in one season. Perhaps if this show can focus more on how they becoming stronger by developing skills based on their respective power and how each character personality changes over the time, this show will be more fantastic. So far Macy have the best, character development but for another two sisters needs further refinement. Anyway love both original and reboot charmed. Just open your heart and treat these two versions as different shows

Except Macy's demon side wasn't the result of a demon and witch intimacy, it was the result of her dying as a baby and out of desperation, her mother summoned a necromancer demon to help bring her back to life.
I really hate that this show is getting such a hard time because it is a reboot. There have been other shows that get rebooted and people aren't as critical of them as this one. Nostalgia can be a bad thing, just like history; people won't let go or they wont give something a chance because of either or both. It is a reboot, the same premise about 3 sisters that are witches and they have a guide or guardian that is called a whitelighter. The show has other slight references also but the fact is that it is a different iteration of the same source material. It should not be compared to the other and it shouldn't be hated unjustly due to nostalgia. I think it is funny that the show shrives to be relevant of today's issues and social diversity, and different and fresh while still paying homage to the original show, but if the show was exactly the same as the other it would get hate for being the same and offering nothing new and falling short of the original because we look back fondly on those things from our past that have sentimental value to us to due experiencing them as children, teens or young adults. I applaud them for the work and talent that all the actors put into the show and hope it will have many seasons to continue to tell their stories in their own way. That scene was so good and shows the talent of all involved.
As a dedicated fan of the original, I thought I was going to hate it, but honestly... I love the fact that they're different and more aligned to modern day. If they tried to relate to the original, it would've been hard to live upto it. So it was better to create a different group and story lines. I can't wait for the next season already!

It is its own show basically. They only called it a Charmed reboot because they thought they would take advantage of the name recognition and the millions of fans of the original. Which IMHO was much better than this. The producers would have been much better served by creating a real reboot with the descendants of the original cast.

That is quite possibly the idea behind it. Cole and Phoebe's child was never born, but it was probably going to have the same powers. I like the fact that they've used fragments of the original storyline and built on them.
You're right. The Vera-Vaughn sisters are not the only Charmed ones that existed. Piper, Prue, and Phoebe (or Piper, Phoebe and Paige) were one incarnation of the famous three, and Mel, Maggie and Macy are another. I think the legend of the Charmed Ones goes as far back as ancient Greece in the reboot.
I watched the show and gave it shot. The thing is, I feel that it should have been its own entity. Despite the differences, there were still too many similar factors between the original show and this one. The reboot progressed the characters way too fast and the storyline either drops or is left unresolved. The actresses and actors involved in this project, I think are awesome and they are doing everything in their ability to bring these characters to light. The writing and direction, however, does not bring the justice that was intended.
I think that's because they didn't plan on moving the series along for 4 seasons - they planned for this to be one and done that's why they compressed lots of the similarities and story progression into one season. That's probably the reason why they had that open ending for season 1 finale.
This version of the Source reminded me of the Phoenix from X-Men. You think you are in control but sooner or later it takes over... whenever it wants to wahahaha The fire look in the beginning didn't help making me go " the Phoenix has arrived" :D
This show should’ve been titled charmed legacy. Because it is tied to the original charmed show in ways. And the wait to figure out how it is connected could’ve been the reason to watch cause they didn’t explain it til season 2 and go into more details til season 3. But the source being tied to a charmed one like the Phoenix. The gays would’ve ate it up. The endless cycles of charmed ones in a multidimensional story would’ve hit so hard later. Having a sister die being the same and a 4th sister coming back. Would’ve been the charmed curse in a way. They could’ve gone so hard with this show cause it had potential and they didn’t. Ugh

Honestly the one thing I don’t like about this clip is the use of powers on each other.. In the OG Charmed the sisters would have lost their powers if they used them on each other because it goes against the very essence of what the Charmed legacy is.. Sisterhood and the power of unity.. So to see them use their powers against each other and there be no consequence for it takes away the unity of the Charmed circle for me

Honestly I don't see why people hate this so much. I actually quite like the show. I've been a fan of the original charmed my entire life, and when I heard they were making this I was PISSED. but once I watched it and stopped thinking of it as a reboot (opting to instead think of it as stand-alone show with zero connections to the original) I find this show can be quite charming on its own. Yes, they piggyback A LOT, but for a new generation that have probably never seen the original I find this could be an amazing gateway into the original charmed

Macy was a stillborn. Her mother (Marisol) enlisted the help of a necromancer to resurrect her first born. Unfortunately, the necromancer used demon blood to give life to a stillborn and those who were resurrected by the necromancer, all turned into demons. Macy at this stage had a high pain threshold, can see thru the eyes of other demonic entities and can translate demonic language. I think by this point, she was halfway thru the transformation but her also being a Charmed one, sort of slowed the process.
I am sorry but the original cast was the True Charmed ones....had they found a way to go from that and keep going i would have watched this but this is not charmed without them in it
So basically in the new season they emotion that there has been other charmed ones before these ones so hopefully that’s how it ties back to the charmed ones from the original show. Although it’s not the original it’s still a great show.
Baby season 2 was a hot mess where everybody that was watching originally turned they tv's off when they realized the supposedly most powerful witches in existence didn't even have they powers for half the season.
When rebooting the show i still feel as though if they created a show about other powerful witches in the charmed universe it would have been more successful. They could of even had cameos from the original sisters

I'm not saying I hate the reboot it's just that when I watch it I think Charmed the original and the reboot is in no way similar. This should have had its own name because it does have some awesome stuff in it but the Charmed angle is just not working out. They could have been apart of the Halliwell line and show how thing change over time as each generation grows and change and work that into the current storyline but no they just called it Charmed and forgot to make any connections to the original.

They're not going to do a crossover or a spinoff on Macy because 1, she's dead and 2 the actress who played Macy left the show to pursue other ventures, also she wasn't in agreement with the direction of the character. And it will be pointless them doing a backstory on Macy because she didn't discover her witchery and the existence of demons until she made contact with her sisters. So as great of a character Macy was, it's safe to say that that chapter has officially ended with her essence going into the tree of magic.

This show have lots of potential. The only drawback is the characters development are too fast in one season. Perhaps if this show can focus more on how they becoming stronger by developing skills based on their respective power and how each character personality changes over the time, this show will be more fantastic. So far Macy have the best, character development but for another two sisters needs further refinement. Anyway love both original and reboot charmed. Just open your heart and treat these two versions as different shows

you cannot call yourself a Charmed fan if you haven’t seen 2.0. at least watch it before saying its bad. trust me i disliked it too especially the first few episodes but i powered thru it and finished and i must say i love it. the basic storyline we know and love with its newer twists, characters, and plot/character developments to keep it interesting and fresh. if they just remade the 1.0 exactly the same with new actresses it would get boring very fast and thats a fact

A show that could’ve been based on Phoebe and Cole’s kids. Macy, Wyatt…wow, the potential.
She is like mix of Prue of having telekinesis Paige being half sibling and demon but Paige is half white lighter and she is like piper being in love with a white lighter
Except Macy's demon side wasn't the result of a demon and witch intimacy, it was the result of her dying as a baby and out of desperation, her mother summoned a necromancer demon to help bring her back to life.
I really hate that this show is getting such a hard time because it is a reboot. There have been other shows that get rebooted and people aren't as critical of them as this one. Nostalgia can be a bad thing, just like history; people won't let go or they wont give something a chance because of either or both. It is a reboot, the same premise about 3 sisters that are witches and they have a guide or guardian that is called a whitelighter. The show has other slight references also but the fact is that it is a different iteration of the same source material. It should not be compared to the other and it shouldn't be hated unjustly due to nostalgia. I think it is funny that the show shrives to be relevant of today's issues and social diversity, and different and fresh while still paying homage to the original show, but if the show was exactly the same as the other it would get hate for being the same and offering nothing new and falling short of the original because we look back fondly on those things from our past that have sentimental value to us to due experiencing them as children, teens or young adults. I applaud them for the work and talent that all the actors put into the show and hope it will have many seasons to continue to tell their stories in their own way. That scene was so good and shows the talent of all involved.
As a dedicated fan of the original, I thought I was going to hate it, but honestly... I love the fact that they're different and more aligned to modern day. If they tried to relate to the original, it would've been hard to live upto it. So it was better to create a different group and story lines. I can't wait for the next season already!

It is its own show basically. They only called it a Charmed reboot because they thought they would take advantage of the name recognition and the millions of fans of the original. Which IMHO was much better than this. The producers would have been much better served by creating a real reboot with the descendants of the original cast.

That is quite possibly the idea behind it. Cole and Phoebe's child was never born, but it was probably going to have the same powers. I like the fact that they've used fragments of the original storyline and built on them.

You're right. The Vera-Vaughn sisters are not the only Charmed ones that existed. Piper, Prue, and Phoebe (or Piper, Phoebe and Paige) were one incarnation of the famous three, and Mel, Maggie and Macy are another. I think the legend of the Charmed Ones goes as far back as ancient Greece in the reboot.

I watched the show and gave it shot. The thing is, I feel that it should have been its own entity. Despite the differences, there were still too many similar factors between the original show and this one. The reboot progressed the characters way too fast and the storyline either drops or is left unresolved. The actresses and actors involved in this project, I think are awesome and they are doing everything in their ability to bring these characters to light. The writing and direction, however, does not bring the justice that was intended.
I think that's because they didn't plan on moving the series along for 4 seasons - they planned for this to be one and done that's why they compressed lots of the similarities and story progression into one season. That's probably the reason why they had that open ending for season 1 finale.

This show should’ve been titled charmed legacy. Because it is tied to the original charmed show in ways. And the wait to figure out how it is connected could’ve been the reason to watch cause they didn’t explain it til season 2 and go into more details til season 3. But the source being tied to a charmed one like the Phoenix. The gays would’ve ate it up. The endless cycles of charmed ones in a multidimensional story would’ve hit so hard later. Having a sister die being the same and a 4th sister coming back. Would’ve been the charmed curse in a way. They could’ve gone so hard with this show cause it had potential and they didn’t. Ugh

Honestly the one thing I don’t like about this clip is the use of powers on each other.. In the OG Charmed the sisters would have lost their powers if they used them on each other because it goes against the very essence of what the Charmed legacy is.. Sisterhood and the power of unity.. So to see them use their powers against each other and there be no consequence for it takes away the unity of the Charmed circle for me

Honestly I don't see why people hate this so much. I actually quite like the show. I've been a fan of the original charmed my entire life, and when I heard they were making this I was PISSED. but once I watched it and stopped thinking of it as a reboot (opting to instead think of it as stand-alone show with zero connections to the original) I find this show can be quite charming on its own. Yes, they piggyback A LOT, but for a new generation that have probably never seen the original I find this could be an amazing gateway into the original charmed

Macy was a stillborn. Her mother (Marisol) enlisted the help of a necromancer to resurrect her first born. Unfortunately, the necromancer used demon blood to give life to a stillborn and those who were resurrected by the necromancer, all turned into demons. Macy at this stage had a high pain threshold, can see thru the eyes of other demonic entities and can translate demonic language. I think by this point, she was halfway thru the transformation but her also being a Charmed one, sort of slowed the process.

I'm not saying I hate the reboot it's just that when I watch it I think Charmed the original and the reboot is in no way similar. This should have had its own name because it does have some awesome stuff in it but the Charmed angle is just not working out. They could have been apart of the Halliwell line and show how thing change over time as each generation grows and change and work that into the current storyline but no they just called it Charmed and forgot to make any connections to the original.
