Step by Step Dental Implant Procedure - Back Molar

- Dental Implant Procedure
Appointment 1 (Day 1): 3D X-ray (CBCT) and a digital impression are taken.
Appointment 2 (Day 21): Dental implant is placed surgically with a surgical guide. The surgical guide enables the dentist to place the implant accurately without seeing the actual jaw bone, therefore, making the surgery minimally invasive. After the implant is securely placed, a healing abutment is placed.
Appointment 3 (Day 28): Dentist checks if the implant site is healing well.
Appointment 4 (Day 140): The healing abutment is removed, an impression post is placed, and impressions are taken for a crown fabrication at the lab. The healing abutment is placed back.
Appointment 5 (Day 154): The crown (screw-retained) is finally ready. The healing abutment is removed, and the crown is screwed in. Dentist checks if it fits well. If fit is confirmed, the screw is further tightened, and the hole is filled with teflon tape and dental composite resin.

Your have done a better job than my dentist in explaining the procedure. I am waiting for appointment 4. Due to cost consideration, I chose the Korean brand, Osstem. Anyone has experience with this brand? What do you need to pay attention to after the entire procedure is done?

Where are you located doctor? You are the only one so far that seem to put the crown below the gum line, I had an implant and when the gum reassessed the implant has a ridge around the gum line that looks like an old fashion crown work.

@@obinnaobiekwe4910 It was. 2nd to last molar on the left. I was clenching my teeth at night, and cracked/broke my molar. Following the extraction it took a little less than a year from removal to implant. I've had my implant for two months now and I'm very happy with the outcome.

Hi, the question I ask is very simple, should surgery to place an implant and bone regeneration to place the implant be performed at the same time? What are the alternatives instead of having an implant? Thanks fot the video.
I had a molar with full length hair line crack in the right side and another with a bad crown that needed to be replaced on the left side plus an empty space next to the cracked one, doctor did prep for new crowns plus the implant first step all in one appointment but had to be general anesthesia cause local does nothing to me :( five days later the molars hurt more than the implant, which has not given me problems since after the surgery

Isn't it toxic to use Teflon Tape?
Had to undergo inpkant for 3 teeth all in front, the trilling process is not painful at all though the anethesia after made me feel super groggy, I just slept it and felt okay the next day. But my abutment is yet to be added after 6 months since my jaw was badly hit and would take much time to heal. But the sutures I can assure doesnt hurt it felt a bit awkward as the stitches tied up are a bit thick 😂

Of course, this is the procedure for a single implant. Full arches for upper or lower would be different.

One visit is for single case and single implant. 5 visits if you need multiple extractions and full mouth restoration maybe. Next time tell Kriss that you only need 1 implant, explain where the impact will be placed and you should get a more accurate answer. When using AI context is important

I really want this done. My biggest problem is Novocain and nitrox does nothing to me. It's some weird genetic thing. My dad has the same problem. So if I get any kind of surgery done, I have to be completely knocked out. And trying to get Medicaid to pay for Twilight sleep is a nightmare.
I am exactly the same way. I’ve had 16 teeth pulled with for wisdom teeth. I didn’t believe me when I was a kid they strapped me down and I broke the belts Novacaine gas never worked.
Dale don’t pay for shit I’m going tomorrow it’s gonna be like five $6000 $600 just to be put to sleep it’s a many different steps the final step when you actually get the implant and crown that itself is 3500+1850 to do the bone graph and I think 1650 for something else I think to pull the tooth a lot of money for one tooth Medi-Cal don’t cover shit but keep letting millions of people come to country. We are the dumbest country on the planet when it comes the managing money.

I had two of them done today left and right side, injection is not painful, you have to embrace it, and One hour I was out of there no sutures

How was the post-surgery? Was it fine? Any pain? I might need to go through this soon and not gonna lie I'm a more worried about the post-surgery haha
@@chixaro Do you have to have the tooth pulled first? Extracting the tooth first is the most painful. The part where they drill and put the screw in is less bad. I think the nerves are already basically gone by the time they put the screw in. I only had pain for about a day and no problems after that. I took a couple extra strength Tylenol two or three times the first day after the screw was put in and that was it. Unfortunately, the bone on mine didn't fill in enough. I had the tooth pulled. They put the cadaver bone in the socket. Let it heal for 3 months. The x-rays and cat scan looked fine, but, when they cut the gums open to put in the screw, they told me the bone graft failed. So, they re-did it and I had to try again another 4 months later. Luckily, it was alright at that point. I now have the screw in and I'm waiting for it to heal. In another 3 months, I'll get the tooth put on.
Is there implant treatment pain full after or before treatment

@@giv-0234 Depends on what your gum tissue is like. If you have enough gum tissue, we can use punch cut like seen in this method. But typically we use a flap to preserve the gum tissue because this method doesnt take any tissue away, and the gum tissue adapts better around the implant

@@lachule81able Roughly $1000usd , I had the thing put in my bone a month ago, paid $400, I'll go back in next year for the $600 tooth to go on top. Those guys are amazing in Mexico. I got 8 crowns, 3 root canals, two bone graphs,one extraction, and the thing in the bone for implant for $5100 in three days. I wouldn't suggest that much work at one time, it wore me out a bit, but none of it hurt. I got a whole new smile now !

I had to have a tooth removed that had a root canal done on it over twenty years ago because of a hairline fracture. They pulled the tooth last week and put the cadaver bone In along with membrane. I get the stitches out next week and the membrane comes out in five more weeks. Then I have to let it all heal up so the post can be put in. After that I'm off to my family dentist to get the molding done so the implant can be made to be put in.
I have the same thing about to happen to me but the dentist said I can do a bridge or this which one do you think it better and they said the bridge would cost about 3k if you don't mind me asking how much are you paying for the implant?
@@kj908studio from what I'm told the average price is between 3 to 4 thousand for the whole procedure. It also depends on what type of dental insurance you have. So far I've paid less than eight hundred. After seeing everything he had to do I kinda understand why it cost so much.
Bridge isn't a good and long term option and bridge procedure causes your surrounding healthy to be drilled. My dentist suggested not to go for bridge as why unnecessary drill nearby teeth.
++ I have a similar case of implant which I am going to do in next week's.
I had the screw put in my jawbone on the 6th of July. I was told that it would be the worst part of each step. Actually it wasn't. I stayed away and drove myself home. He used soft tissue to cover the screw and put four stitches in. So far I'm doing good with no problems.

He’ll probably make you an Essix retainer (removable) with plastic teeth that you will use until you’re ready for the final implants.

Would a zirconia implant be okay for a molar? My root canal is doing great and has a zirconia crown. They already took all of amalgam fillings out I don’t want more metal in my mouth.i have great oral hygiene. I just want to plan ahead.
The dental composite does not bond properly to the porcelain . You should use a porcelain etchant kit .

Im on my appointmnt 3 tomorrow (post of eval) during the surgery i haven't feel any pain coz of anesthesia'(appointment 2) but the after surgery though😂 it was so painful after surgery that i can't sleep at night for 2days 😢 thanks to the icepack! 😅

You should never be in pain, they should give you pain medication. Contact your dentist if you're ever in pain after a procedure

There are temporary crowns or sth I don't know the exact English word that you can put until the actual crown is put. Here in Greece they cost around 200€ I believe.

Uh.....hey, Mr. Snotty......they have to let things heal up before moving on. The bone has to grow around the stem. The gum has to heal from the first cuts.

No. the cbct and digital scan together are used to make the surgical guide. its safe to have a surgical guide for the procedure

No gain without pain but if patient is mentally strong, it is bearable because they give anesthesia in that area & even a quick spray before inserting the needle of anesthesia. Good luck.
