    Had one done (tooth resorption issue caused me to loose a tooth). It was a longer process for me, as I need to wait for the bone to fill in/heal from the extraction, and then also waiting for the bone to heal in around the implant. It took over a year.

    Great video, Dr. Andy! I never knew dental implants required five appointments. I used a dental chatbot called KRISS AI to explain why it's necessary, and it said it’s because of the procedures complexity. Well thanks for sharing this procedure. Keep up the good work!

    • @soposhhh1122

      One visit is for single case and single implant. 5 visits if you need multiple extractions and full mouth restoration maybe. Next time tell Kriss that you only need 1 implant, explain where the impact will be placed and you should get a more accurate answer. When using AI context is important

But my abutment is yet to be added after 6 months since my jaw was badly hit and would take much time to heal. But the sutures I can assure doesnt hurt it felt a bit awkward as the stitches tied up are a bit thick 😂

      @@chixaro Do you have to have the tooth pulled first? Extracting the tooth first is the most painful. The part where they drill and put the screw in is less bad. I think the nerves are already basically gone by the time they put the screw in. I only had pain for about a day and no problems after that. I took a couple extra strength Tylenol two or three times the first day after the screw was put in and that was it. Unfortunately, the bone on mine didn't fill in enough. I had the tooth pulled. They put the cadaver bone in the socket. Let it heal for 3 months. The x-rays and cat scan looked fine, but, when they cut the gums open to put in the screw, they told me the bone graft failed. So, they re-did it and I had to try again another 4 months later. Luckily, it was alright at that point. I now have the screw in and I'm waiting for it to heal. In another 3 months, I'll get the tooth put on.

They pulled the tooth last week and put the cadaver bone In along with membrane. I get the stitches out next week and the membrane comes out in five more weeks. Then I have to let it all heal up so the post can be put in. After that I'm off to my family dentist to get the molding done so the implant can be made to be put in.

      Implants are very expensive but after they are in place, I see no reason they shouldn't last a lifetime. I had dental insurance and my portion was still over $4k. As far as chewing hard things? I have had no problems.

    • @comet315
      @comet315 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Because if the crown ever needs taken out the screw that is holding it won't be glued to the composite. So they remove the top composite layer and then the Teflon tape comes out to reveal the screw intact.

    My implant next to k-9 has a space like gap between the two teeth, I’m so disappointed that’s not a neat smile they cost too much to still have a gap side tooth may as well kept the missing tooth…..my dentist says it’s because of the gum and can’t be fixed is that true?

      I just had a back molar implant done yesterday and apart from the drill vibration and some pressure, I felt nothing. They give you a nerve block in your jaw beforehand and they make sure you're numb! Tell them if you feel anything! I was a little sore an hour or two after procedure, took an ibuprofen and very little soreness. It was harder healing from the extraction. Wishing you the best!

    • @rebeccac4769
      @rebeccac4769 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I agree with Birttany's comment. I'm not a fan of needles and the numbing shot hurt a little, but I just felt pressure and some vibrations. When I felt some soreness (pain) during the procedure, they stopped and administered more numbing. I had a lot of anxiety going into this appt. and so far it's been a smooth process. I'm currently three days post-op.

    • @idmhead0160
      @idmhead0160 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, I thought the screw would be smaller. It was bigger than I thought it would be. They create a guide so that it is drilled correctly. It may be difficult to believe, but, it didn't really hurt that much. Not really at all during the procedure. Some pain the first day afterwards, but, Tylenol mostly took care of it, and the next day, I didn't have any problems.

      well in carpentry, you don't have living human tissue to consider, infection, bleeding, critical nerve bundles to avoid, anesthesia, as well as the psychological component of dealing with a fearful patient, etc.....but besides ALL that, yeah i suppose its like carpentry.
