what causes the valve guide to break like that? I've seen a lot of them failed in the same way....

think piston slaps to the open valves and the bended valves brakes the guide..

давить прессом на посадочное место маслосъёмного колпачка при запрессовке втулки яб не рискнул. лучше давить на основное тело втулки.

Much hassle for nothing, an experianced machinist just put the head on paralell spacers, raising up the cylinder.
