    Whats with the 480p potato quality video?

      One F’d up FCPX setting. And unfortunately TH-cam doesn’t let me swap out the video once it’s up there. Total drag! 😫

    Great aesthetic. The simplicity of the controls is refreshing. Love the rich, complex tones. Great job showcasing this amps talents.

    i rarely heard an amp demo sound this 3d. that amp rocks. but then again billy corgan knows his stuff he's a perfectionist.

    • @adamcoe

      agreed. lots of amps sound decent on youtube but this one really and truly sounds bigger and more insane than really anything I've ever heard. tons of useable gain but also still really distinct and clear. stunning

    Couldn't care less about Mr. Corgans guitar sound, but if 'the man' posts a video, I watch & listen. Gee. What a delicious sounding amp. Very nice. Though I prefer the HQ version of the video 🤣. Thanks for doing this, Michael!

    The more time passes, the more thankful I am for Steven Fryette's work.

    • @zxexrxox
      @zxexrxox ปีที่แล้ว

      What do you mean?

    • @Robstafarian
      @Robstafarian ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@zxexrxox Steve Fryette's amps have substantially less compression relative to their distortion than is typical. Many guitarists, including Paul Gilbert, act and speak as though such amps do not or cannot exist. I love dynamics just as much as I love distortion, and the Fryette Deliverance provides an old-school bass response (rather than the contemporary, tight bass which the Fryette Pitbull favors) and hits a nice sweet spot wherein some compression is available with high settings.

    Michael - Was very excited to see you use the volume knob in the second half of the video. While the ultra-high gain sounds are great, this amp is a chameleon if you know how to use your volume and tone knobs correctly. See more in my video here: th-cam.com/video/t9wMJTe0jCQ/w-d-xo.html

    This is the second time I heard this amp and every time I hear it, I love it. Michael can the Friedman BE 100, the one you like with the black metal face plate, make those sounds like this amp can (Carstens grace)? Thank you for making the video.

    That much for a noisy amp?

    • @upStomp
      @upStomp ปีที่แล้ว

      It's so fizzy! To my ears, it's almost like a tube amp emulating an overdrive pedal pushed into a Class D power amp 😂. To each their own, but I've always had a visceral hatred of everything TSP.

    Sounds great. That gain knob needs takes some taming. It’s totally balmy. But you are right, it does some good Brian May tones.

  • @XChristianNoirX
    @XChristianNoirX ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Thanks for doing this for such a rare, expensive amp... But I still have some wants! 😂
    I wonder what some BC Railhammers, Dimarzio BC2's, and Lace Sensors sound like through that thing..
    I know it has a lot of gain, but I also wonder what an OD would do to it for a tight metal tone.
    Billy has gone off the edge in this "all the tone needs to come from the amp" thing but... Only a Sith deals in absolutes!
    It comes from him watching Iommi play with just and amp, but that amp was modified to pretty much do kinda what Tony was doing before.. So I don't understand why it matters if the change is inside or outside the amp. ;)
    Back to the amp, it's school that the note clarity shines through, despite the big muff texture.

      @encryptor6710 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It takes pedals really really well. Better than any amp Ive used. It doesnt make it squeal like most other amps. Pedals compliment it really well. I have a gearbox pedal that I use and even crank up the gain almost to max doesnt overload the amp. It just takes it like a boss. Its weird.

  • @encryptor6710
    @encryptor6710 ปีที่แล้ว

    I got mine in a week or so ago. I love it. Its super quiet as far as noise. Mines way quieter than yours for some reason. I can run some heavy pedals through it without it squealing. It takes pedals nicely. The Gearbox pedal sounds great through it.

  • @upStomp
    @upStomp ปีที่แล้ว

    When you first walked in with it, I thought it was a trick. It looked so light and plasticy for its size. The tones aren't really my cup of tea (I'm a vintage Marshall/Friedman guy), but, then again, neither is Billy Corgan or TSP. Still, great demo and analysis as always. If one's after that type of fuzzy tone, I couldn't think of a better tube option without adding pedals.
    It's definitely an amp. 😁

    You can definitely hear the Gnashing Blumpkins Willie Pumpkinhead in there .. but that amp seems incredibly versatile and sounds amazing .

  • @redhorsereincarnated
    @redhorsereincarnated ปีที่แล้ว

    Does the headroom control increase the headroom? Did you try to turn that all the way up and turn the gain down to see if you can get clean tones?

    • @BigHairyGuitars

    Stylish amp and I'm seriously impressed overall.......kinda pricey but for BC I guess it's not an issue and oh man, is it chewy! Would love to hear that with some Railhammers to see what happens then.....

    Yeah good stuff right there. I had the 100 and regretted selling it as soon as it left my possession. But I almost stared at it as if I didn’t deserve it just in my setup at home or whatever… weird I know but this is the way. Ridiculously rich harmonic tones all over the EQ and your volume knob on your guitar. I’m in the suburbs of chicago so I actually meet up with Brian to take delivery soooo this 20 watt itch is getting worse by the day 🤘🏻gonna need to address that

    *I dont get it. When you look at amps like BLUGUITAR AMP-1 Mercury and Iriduim + pedals like Chase Bliss Preamp MK II or the Strymon Sunset, to run in front of those amps, then being able to sweeten the deal with a "Free The Tone PA-1Q Series" - thus being able to call up any tone you could ever want; ((WHY)) would anyone have a need to spend that much bread on any amp let alone purchase of any amp that huge??!*

  • @laz288
    @laz288 ปีที่แล้ว

    I do not understand the business Model of these companies. Though a fantastic amp they price it out of the reach of everyone. There is a business model of selling for a lower price and selling high volume. Warm Audion proved this with their Boutique Style Stuff at a price in reach.
