FM HI-Power (Argentina) 9mm 900+ round review!!

  • #71: The FM Hi-Power from Argentina in 9mm is a copy of the famous Browning Hi-Power. This gun functioned great when it was clean but would fail to go completely into battery once it got dirty. Normally after about 150 rounds and shooting aluminum case ammo. We shot Freedom Munitions 115 grain HP and lots of Federal, Winchester and perfecta ammo. It is a all steal gun and feels good in the hand with very little recoil. In fact our ten year old has shot it several times. If you are looking for a good shooter that is a bit cheaper then the Browning Hi-Power, then this is the gun you have been looking for. The 14 round mags work great. Thank you for supporting Team TMT!

Hi Mountain I'm from Argentina. That Browning it's a FM Modelo 90 manufactured in Rosario, Argentina from 1990 until 1995. That model was widely used by argentine armed forces and most police departments in the country and exported to several countrys like South Africa, India, Yemen, Croatia (the gun saw action during the Balcans war in the 90's with the croatians and bosnians). The Modelo 90 was produced after the belgian FN patent ended in 1989. (all the previus argentines brownings were made under FN Herstal patent) Don't make the mistake of thinking that the modelo 90 have less quality that the previus FM's made under belgian patent, the factory just removed the traditional cuts at the mouzzle because of the copyright issue but the inside are the same that the FM's made under belgian patent. The Modelo 90 became rare in Argentina when the factory ended the production in 1995 and it's becoming a collector's item. Congratulations for the gun. Greetings from Argentina

@@gunslinger2172 Sorry for the delay, the modelo 90 was manofactured from 1990 until 1995. The weapon that replace the Sistema Colt modelo 1927 (a licenced Colt's Clone) was the Ballester Molina also in .45 ACP. After 1968 Argentina started to manofacture the "Modelo Militar" a licenced clone of the FN Browning Mark 2. The modelo militar saw action in the Malvinas/Falklands war in 1982. In 1989 the FN license expired and the modelo 90 (the one on this video) was adopted until it replacement for the Modelo 95 (similar to the FN Browning Mark 3) since 1995 forward. Greetings from Argentina.

hi, nice shooting! Hans stole my thunder. I have owned TWO FM (fabrica Militar) Hi-powers except both of mine had ring (commander style) hammers. What Hans did not mention is that Argentina sought and received a license from FN in Belguim to produce both the Hi-power and the FN-FAL Rifle for their Military and export. When FN grants a license a proviso in it states that FN can send a rep. in ANYTIME to inspect your quality control/materials. IF ANYTHING is not up to their standards they yank that license with a quickness. Those Argentine Hi-powers except for finish are almost identical to FN hi-powers. they are excellent pistols w/ total parts interchangeability.

Love the consistency reliability and accuracy of this weapon not to mention the awesome balanced metal combination. Heavy enough to feel great without the bulky discomfort of an over built pistol. Great video; great accuracy; would love to shoot with you someday. Nice job dad!

I had one of these for a couple years, and I actually sold it specifically because the gun would not function while dirty. It was superbly accurate, well balanced, and fun, but once powder residue builds up in the action/chamber it won't even fire one magazine without jamming.

Congratulation!. Frame is SAE 4140; slide is forged SAE 6000 heat treatement; barrel is SAE 6045 martelated (machine import Germani). F.M. Argentina put the best metal in the pistol. Is the best pistol, (I have H & K, SIG, GLOCK, CZ). The magazine and spring piano wire the best. See this link: www.foro.fullaventura.com/viewtopic.php?t=99757

Bart Forren this the Argentinian Hi Power so it is FM (FABRICIA MILITAR) HI Power. It can be confusing for sure. I caught my self calling it a FN many times because FM sounded wrong. LoL. Thank you for stopping by and leaving your great question.

Bart Forren no problem I appreciate you trying to help me out. That was a legitimate question bro. I hope you like our other video and I hope to hear from you again.

I've been a Hi- Power fan since I first watched Sonny Crockett shoot bad guys on "Miami Vice" in the '80s. I have an Arcus 98 DAC, and that's about as close as I can get to one right now.

Bart Forren LoL man I loved that show as a kid! It is funny how the nostalgia of certain guns draws us in.
