What if they ALSO had disruptor fields that could tear enemies apart on an atomic level, and what if I strapped a gun onto each side of the handguard?" and then decided, "IT'S TIME TO FIND OUT."
So who does the custodes favor more? Dorn, the primarch with a guard tower rammed up his tailpipe or Sigismund easily in top 5 most honored and respected marines of his era.. but he questioned and disobeyed a direct order from dorn because he opened a fortune cookie that said " if you don't stay within Tongue range of dorn during the siege, hes going to die if his taint gets all salty and dry" the templaria Negra was created only because of that betrayal.. he was only allowed to live because he understood his legion loved him as much or more than their primarch. Also he was a hero to nearly all marines. This was the first and last time Dorn chose PR over his own b pride

Never forget, the Custodes are master of politics. They keep track of everything, all the great houses and nobles, all of their dealings, their trade dealings with xenos, etc. And they are masters of the Blood Games. No doubt they stack the deck in the Emperor's favor over very long time frames.
So who determines who is destined for greatness? Does this tie into the theory that perhaps this is part of the Emperor's long game plan. Big E provides guidance of those 'destined' for greatness to facilitate his ascension to God-hood? Also saw a recent article speaking to the return of Alpharius and Omegon, but they didn't speak to their sources.

This is what I want. Angry vengeance driven Dorn returns. Tells Bobby G he can run the logistics of it but he is going after the traitor legions. Then leads all of his sons on a crusade that makes the scouring look like a temper tantrum.
