For your first release, you do need to amend how you do things, for example you can't have a big build up, as you're not building up for anyone just yet. But there's so many things you can do to totally SMASH your first release, so you can get building on your career.

Hey! I’m Damian Keyes and I've worked with musicians every day of my life for the past 20 years. The internet is de ply untrusting understandably and here is my background so you can have the full picture.
When I was 18, I was signed to a major label and at 23 I co-founded a Music University in Europe called BIMM (valued at $300M). I’m also a bass player, I’ve played for a number of artists including Eric Clapton, Alanis Morrisette and Billy Cobham. I initially retired at 30, but realised that life gets boring if you’re not building!
I have always been in-between the music industry and education which is how I ended up building my TH-cam channel - I’ve been teaching artists how to release music long before it was a ‘niche’! I now educate artists around the world with my Academy, TH-cam channel and Social Agency.

I’m a song writer in the process of recording my first album. It’s going to be mix of different genres, from pop to rock to hip hop to country to r&b…ALL BANGERS. That’s not my opinion. That’s the opinion of everyone I’ve shared my rough drafts with, and not just family and friends but critics, as well.
My first single will be a Bruno Mars/Santana inspired pop tune entitled, “O.N.E.S.” (One Night Endless Summer).
My question is, how do I release/promote an album that purposely jumps around musically? I’ve narrowed my selections to 13 songs that will encompasses 8 genres of music.
Im looking to have all the songs recorded, mixed, and mastered by the 2nd week of February.
BTW, I’m starting from scratch when it comes to cultivating my fan base.
Any and all advise and assistance is greatly appreciated.

I’m a songwriter with six tracks that I’m preparing to release under a new brand for the first time.
My co-writers are in an established band with their own brand but have agreed for me to release the tracks under a different name for 50/50 of the songwriter royalties.
I was originally planning to release all 6 tracks at once and then decided to release 2 extended plays (EP) with 3 tracks each.
Should I just release each of the 6 tracks as singles?
I created music videos for 3 tracks so far using royalty free stock video approved for commercial use.

I think I’m a Damo stan at this point 😂 and wow the power of Soundcloud should NOT be underestimated!! I had a throwaway track called ‘Roses & Violets’ blow up on there, it was an actual madness! I have an audience but I feel like I just need to start posting music again on these because my life got chaotic & additionally the stress of pre-planning for Spotify etc. had been putting me off too 💙

Sub'd a while back - digging your vids. Been building some story with my #365Challenge - posting music (covers, originals, jazz, improv's) every day since 11/1/2019. Still at less than 100 subs, but I've made a couple genuine connections. The goal was to bust out of decades of release-paralysis - and just post. Close to having a "real" single finished (sent tracks to mix/master and ear candy specialist) for release. Working on banners and "about" scripts. old dog, new tricks.

My 9 best original songs I've written over 30 year span that I recently completed all mixes and mastering, I was going to release the title track as a single, then release the FULL Album one month later - BUT MAYBE I should release ALL 9 songs ONE AT A TIME as singles over the next 9 weeks, as I follow your excellent plan, release 10-15 second videos on my socials (as per your 22 Day Plan)- THEN release the Entire 9 song Album anywhere during Weeks 10 - 12.. My band Turning Tides is dropping "Crash Our Car" on August 7! We're currently running a video facebook ad campaign leading up to its release, and the growth is exponential. It's a funny little video featuring Jay and Silent Bob from Clerks 2. They play our song "Roller Coaster" on a boombox and dance along to it. It goes along so well the ad is costing 2 cents/click! Some of the videos out there have quite a bit of fluff, but I love how yours have applicable strategies and advice! Absolutely love your channel! I need help! Among other things, I sing and I've been writing songs--lyrics and some melodies--for years. Now I'm really trying to take things to the next level. I've got quite a few songs for kids and families. I'd love to know the best way to move forward. (Thinking I'd start with family music first.) I finally found a friend who can play the songs I send her. For the finished songs, I then need arrangements and to have them professionally recorded. (I have no budget though.) Telling a story is definitely the hardest thing to do, but it’s also important to create unique and interesting content, build a community and then release as more music as you can 🔥
