    If you are doing motorcycle speeds you need motorcycle helmets. The road doesn’t care what kind of vehicle you were on before you were ejected. Sedici makes some decent helmets for the money (it’s the house brand for Revzilla). Look for helmets with the ECE 22.06 certification to make sure it will actually do its job.

    You can change the KPH to MPH in the app. It's just in a different section. I had trouble finding it at first when I posed my own first impressions review. I would go with the waterproof rating as stated, it is definitely not over-stated and also the shocks make a clunking noise over rough terrain. Other than that, I'd say your review is pretty spot on from someone who owns one of the first ones to be delivered to crowd funded backers. Love the channel, keep up the good work and stay safe!

The last firmware update made miracles with the horn, you won’t believe how loud it is now. Helmet recommendation from a V12HT EUC rider: Leatt Moto 9.5 Carbon
    It has the ECE 22.06 motorcycle helmet safety certification, multiple different layers of padding, 360° Turbine (MIPS competitor), the goggle are really good, and you can tape the air vents for complete waterproofing though they don't leak much anyways.
    I mounted a Break Free tail light and a NITECORE headlamp to it for increased visibility & safety. Then put a Insta360 unicorn mount on top as a dashcam.

    When are manufacturers going to get real about these machines and put larger wheels on them? These are not kick scooters for kids!! They are machines capable of doing 50 or 60 mph. They need to stop putting tiny wheels on them. Between the tiny wheels and steep steering head geometry, you have a recipe for disaster. The Dualtron City is the only scooter of this type I would buy right now. Fifteen inch wheels should be a minimum size. Centrifugal force is one of the main reasons why bicycles and motorcycles are more stable. You need a larger diameter wheel with more mass to get this force. Since the center of gravity is so high on a stand up scooter, it acts as a longer lever to overwhelm whatever centrifugal force those small wheels produce. This is so obvious, I don't understand why it is not more apparent. Look at how small even 11 inch wheels look compared to the entire scooter. This needs to change if people want to ride these things more safely. JMO. I know this scooter seems to rebut most of what I'm saying here, but this is exceptional. Thanks for ALL the videos.

    • @Andrew-vt4jt
      @Andrew-vt4jt ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I do like bigger tires but the City is a clunky scooter. It has a really slow acceleration and the suspension isn't great for the tire size. However, I do love riding around on the Dualtron X Limited but a lot of people don't have $7,000 to drop on a electric scooter. The fat 13 inch tires roll over pot holes with ease.

      @savagemako17 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Andrew-vt4jt Thanks for the reply Andrew/Adrenaline. I'm more like Jimmy. High speed numbers don't impress me as much as comfort and stability. I'm a fair amount older than both of you though, so that may explain my attitude. High MPH numbers sell scooters. I'll wait for Dualtron to improve on the City model or another manufacturer to take it to the next level. Thanks again for the videos.

      @@savagemako17 100%. I have a GT2. I like to roll around in Eco mode (25 MPH) and pop it into sport if I need some extra speed to stay safe on the road. Sometimes it's best to move with the traffic, and then slow down again when you can. I have not even put it into Race mode yet. All that does is turn off the traction control. But the comfort and stability of the GT2 are second to none.

    Absolutely great video!
    everything you both said is exactly accurate!
    I received my segway gt2 last week and the number one thing i need in this scooter is a lot more range, and much faster charging capability (7 and one half hours to fully charge this scooter frustrates me).
    if this scooter could travel 100 miles in eco mode, at 25 miles per hour, flat ground, minimal wind resistance conditions, and able to fully charge the battery in 2.5 hours with one or two fast chargers, i would be very happy with this scooter. And i really hope segway can bring back the highly superior design and functionality of the electronic/regenerative braking system which was really nice! with the ability to turn off and also to reduce or increase the strength of the regenerative braking system.
    This scooter is an electrical and mechanical engineering masterpiece! absolutely beautiful in every possible way.
    Keep going segway! Don’t stop, never stop!
    go further, go faster, keep designing beyond the limits, beyond the edge, beyond that which has been imagined and previously achieved!
    segway is redefining micro mobility!
    i had ten super scooters last year. i sold all of them, and purchased the segway gt2, and the wolf king gt pro. both of these scooters are very stable at all speeds. all of my previous scooters became unstable beyond 40+ miles per hour, and i had a lot of trouble with steering speed wobbles with my other scooters. even with steering stabilizers. those days are over. i will only buy scooters from now on, that handle at least as good as the segway gt 1 and segway gt2 super scooters. segway raised the bar, and set the standard for electrical and mechanical engineering excellence, and especially in the handling and smoothness of ride quality.

      Judging by how easy it reaches top speed I`d guess that Segway intentionally capped it at 70km/h out of safety concerns and battery mileage and life. Maybe at some point there will be some flash/hack app like the one that`s out there for their other models and you`d be able to dial up the settings.

  • @isellcrack3537
    @isellcrack3537 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Most comfortable and stable deck ever. Build quality overall is just on another level compared to pretty much any other scooter. I can`t say enough praise for the Ninebot Max G30 so I`m not trying to discredit Ninebots at all but I think it`s quite evident that this project is Segway all over and not just because it says so on the side. I also can`t think of any other scooter that you can basically ride out of the box. I`m surprised with how well the phone app is integrated and the amount of settings it let`s you tune and the firmware upgrades are just *cheffs kiss*....With this said I gotta agree with all the sentiments online - the retail price that these are usually set in the US is quite high. imo $3000 is way more reasonable and about $2500 if on sale.

    This is essentially a stand up motorcycle without the same controllability. As a motorcycle rider who has been in an accident at 40 mph (got hit from behind), you are at a severe risk of major injury riding a scooter this fast with these small wheels. I had a severe traumatic brain injury and broken bones while wearing an armored jacket, Kevlar armored pants, a Shoei GT Air 2 helmet, armored leather gloves and motorcycle boots. I would definitely wear all my gear if I planned on hitting top speed on this.

    This isn't key activated? For their asking price, I'd expect that to be included. That means if you chain this thing up outside, anyone can just go up to it, and with the push of a button, start messing with it. One thing I learned from having an ebike in a big city is that if it's something that can be done, you'll come across someone who will try it. This is one of the biggest cons about this scooter to me, besides the other cons mentioned. This seems overpriced for what it is. Thanks for showing it off.

    • @Captain_Kickass-l1f
      @Captain_Kickass-l1f 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I was with you on the whole "it seems overpriced for what it is. Then my buddy got one and let me take it for a spin. I fought the urge as hard as I could and ordered one a week later. The spec sheet just doesn't tell the whole story. There's all these little subtle nuances that make riding it such an enjoyable experience. Little things, like how the acceleration smoothly (and quickly) ramps up when you crack the throttle. A lot of high performance scooters have throttles that act like a light switch from stopped or at low speeds.
      Also, apparently Segway's business model seems to be to have a high list price and then run stuff for sale price all the time. At 4 grand it would be too much for this but you can buy it pretty much anytime you want for $2,700 and I've even seen it occasionally dip down to $2,500. I'm reasonably sure that they have capped the top speed because it accelerates strongly all the way up to its limit. I have a Vsett 10+ that has a wicked hole shot, but accelerating from 35 to 45 takes a while. The Segway pulls harder towards it it's top speed, although from a dead stop, the Vsett will win a drag race.

      @@Captain_Kickass-l1f I’m sure it’s an awesome scooter once you get passed the flaws. For me, the real deal breaker was the scooter going into park mode constantly. I know it can be worked around by holding a break lever, and I can even see how that isn’t that big a deal for certain folks, but I’m the type that checks my phone at stop lights or goes into my backpack a lot. I do food deliveries as a side gig and I need to be able to do those things, so it really bothered me that Segway made the GT2 to do that. I don’t even see how that could be considered a feature. If it wasn’t for that single one thing, I could have looked past the other flaws, and I’m fairly certain that I would have bought the GT2. I ended up with an e-bike instead, no regrets though, I got a good one. I’m sure you’re having some good times on that Segway. Wish it was for me the way it is for you. Enjoy for me man.

      @@TheSixthSLoT Hey, it's awesome that you found something that works for you ...and OMG. The only thing I hate about the scooter is that f****** auto park feature. It's so annoying that I almost wish that the scooter came with a "prison sex" feature instead. Once you get in the habit of applying the brake it's not an issue, but why should I have to get used to it? I'm really hoping that they will give you the option to shut that off in a firmware update.

      @@TheSixthSLoT any time you're using a motorcycle type throttle, you run through risk of getting some bronco action if you inadvertently hit the throttle. I think this is supposed to be a safety feature to prevent that from happening, although I question it's value. It's a misstep on on otherwise well thought out scooter.

    No mention of the clunky front shock? That Segway won't replace, btw? Good call on the horn, though. Even pedestrians pay it no mind. It is essentially useless. Also, could not agree more about the turn signals. They are off before anyone even sees it. You have to hold it down, which is difficult if you're also braking or zipping off the line into a turn. I ordered a new front shock from Ali Express which I had to pay for myself. Segway should absolutely be covering the cost because it is without a doubt a defect. Word is there's a firmware update that may address the other two issues.
    PS. You guys have some of the best PEV content on TH-cam. Thanks for your hard work.

    • @Andrew-vt4jt
      @Andrew-vt4jt ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I haven't had issues with mine being clunky. Did you have it from the beginning or did it develop over time? I do agree that Segway's customer service can be lackluster when it comes to warranting parts. I have found that if you follow up a lot, eventually they will do the right thing. However, I wish they would do the right thing from the beginning.

    • @jebboyle4
      @jebboyle4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Andrew-vt4jt From the start. To be fair, I didn't ask Segway to pay to replace it. It is known in the community that it is a known issue by Segway. Their response has been that it is working as intended and they put the softer and supposedly quieter replacement on Ali Express. Segway was pretty good to me on the price of the scooter and some other things, so I will do the replacement myself. The unit you guys got must have had the new shock(s), or you definitely would have noticed it. Mine clunks over four out of five bumps. It sounds like something is loose. (Nothing is.)
