The colour of the chat bubbles also tells you if someone is using RCS.
Darker Blue bubbles with white font is RCS
Light blue bubbles with black font is SMS
Also when you type out a message the send button will say "SMS" if its going to be an SMS message or nothing if it's RCS.

Solid video broI actually have it set up on my original Google pixel XL but the only problem is everybody's pretty much transition to a third-party messenger of some sort and they don't really like to switch back so prom exam for everybody that that I messed with and talk to you they use a variation of a hangouts or they using Facebook messenger or some other third-party messenger like that like WhatsApp ortelegram so it it's kind of all over the place as to what people use and trying to get them to try something else after they already get used to what they used to it's tough thanks for the video keep up the great work and I'll catch you on the next one.👍👍👍👍

I posted this on another video but I'll post it here too.
I've been using RCS since I got my s20+ on launch day and group messaging still sucks, if I get an overload of messages, because people like to type one line at a time instead of paragraphs, the app will freeze (and this is no matter which app I use whether it's Samsung or RCS) and it will take forever for it to unfreeze and then I get overloaded with messages again like 10-15 minutes later, and the only fix I have for it is to force stop the app and that seems to bring it back quicker, I've only experienced this in group messaging. The app features are FAR superior to Samsung messages, and I've only encountered one bug that was an easy fix and that was when I was texting a friend and something weird happened the message was sent and I didn't actually see it pop up so I exited the app and entered it again and it was at the very top of all the previous messages and a ton of messages from like 2 or 3 years ago to today were deleted and spaced out randomly (so like I would see a message from like April 23rd and then the very next one was like August 8th, etc). so I just uninstalled the app switched back to Samsung messages reinstalled the app and made RCS my default and all my messages were back again. It was very strange. The only thing I want now is more customization features like changing the colors of the text bubbles and shape, changing the background, etc.

Unfortunately this is still inferior to iMessage. No encryption, no extra features integrated with third party or system apps like iMessage does with games , etc. The iMessage file size is still larger , rcs is only available on the Google messages app which not all Android users use.(people use Samsung messages , even Verizon messages+ etc) this is a huge step for sms but it need to be beefed up to be better than iMessage

There's an easier way to tell who has RCS. Simply look at the bottom of the screen in the field you enter text. If it says "Chat Message" you have RCS. If it says "Text Message" it's still SMS. @@uniquebeing99 not unless Apple support it and at least in North America iMesssage helps sales :(. Why don't you all use WhatsApp? It's interesting you've managed to get friends/family mostly all on iPhone. It seems to be more significant to North Americans as strangely Facebook haven't managed to make WhatsApp the standard in USA/Canada like much of the world. I've been travelling through South America everyone has WhatsApp. It's just assumed, carriers even offer free WhatsApp, but I guess they can't all afford iPhones. Although in the UK I guess iPhone users use iMessage between themselves but they've all got WhatsApp too. Google Chat was released in the UK a few months ago, there was not much interest as far as I know. It's not a hindrance to me they've got an iPhone. In the USA/Canada Android users still seem SMS a lot though.

You're right Samsung messages has RCS but it's the carrier version of RCS not the universal profile like Sprint and Google do. Which means you can only chat with people on your network. T-Mobile to T-Mobile, Verizon to Verizon. I'm on T-Mobile and not every phone on the network has RCS. My Samsung does but not my friend's Stylo 4. Google's way everyone on any phone will have it and can chat to any network.
