I LOVE Samsung messages, the only real hangup that I have with it is the fact that there is no notification noise or even a buzz when someone messages you with their chat window open. This leads to a lot of missed messages unless you either immediately minimize the app or turn off the screen. One other minor issue that I wish was at least an option is a sent message sound like on google messages and imessage.

Keeping my boss, wife, and pops always up top is just perfect... and the starred message feature, I saw that in another video of yours, I use it all the time now, especially with work texts! For the last two years I've saved and added to my contacts named Robocalls or Textspammer and then blocked the contact. Until the four carriers come up with a solution to stop it this has been my course of action. Dont call, text or respond to spammers. My phone has been much quieter these days as a result. I've tried all of the apps to block unwanted calls and texts and they dont work plus I'm not paying $2.99 a month for a service that's clearly broken. It's your device. Take control.

The other part about STAR MESSAGES I found is that the Star Message name replaced LOCK MESSAGE so when you go to Delete messages the Starred Messages will not Delete without an additional OK.
Why would anyone compare to Android messages when Textra app exists? I currently use Textra instead of Samsung Messages for these reasons: 1. Delivery reports are discreet. 2. Sending delay that allows you to cancel sending if you see that you made a mistake. 3. You can easily select and copy part of the text (e.g. confirmation code) with your finger 4. When scrolling through messages, you can pick a date in history of conversation to see the messages from particular period Samsung have these features over Textra: 1. One hand UI 2. Integration with Phone app 3. Zooming the text in conversation I would easily switch to Samsung Messages if they would just implemented the delivery reports properly. Textra can also pin conversation on top but then it is not reachable with one hand usage on a tall phone.
I've been using Textra for so long since before I even had my current Note 8. Scheduling messages is my fav feature. I may even try the stock app again. Thanks.
Textra lets you schedule messages too...just click on the + button (to the left of where you type your message), and at the very bottom, in the middle of all the options to choose, you'll see a clock symbol. That's where you schedule it... Just make sure after setting the date/time that you click the send button to officially schedule it
I just switched to it. Really like it so far. But I did pin some messages to the top. It's a great idea, but when I get a new text I have been opening the pin messages think it's from them because they are on the top. Something I have to get use to. I Love the star message. I only stopped using it because Google Messages has RCS on my Note 8 and this still doesn't. I feel like Samsung Messages is missing a lot of features from old versions. I'm missing a lot of these features

I'm a little late in finding you but this video was very helpful. I have a Samsung Galaxy S10. When it comes to text messages... There is one contact that I text back and forth with often. When I open up that contact to send a text, the three vertical dots in the upper right-hand corner do not show up. The three dots do show up on all my other contacts but not this particular person. Can you advise me on why this is happening? Thanks so much for all you do.
For some reason I keep having an issue sending pictures and videos to 1 number in particular. It keeps giving me an "invalid destination address" error. This number is a phone that is also on my account (my gf's phone). I can receive from her, and I can send/receive from any one of my other contacts with no problems. Verizon is currently working on it, but I thought I might see if you had any ideas. Love your videos.
I just bought an S10 from Best Buy(US). It's running Android 9. I don't find the pinning, starring and scheduling features in my Samsung Messages app. Would they only be on Android 10 versions or do I have to turn those features on somewhere?
#6 Reason... Samsung Messages allows me to "choose"whether or not to send MMS messages in a Group Chat or as Individual messages to everyone in the Group! My favorite feature.
Jimmy we had an option to lock a message on the note 8. When you deleted messages, the locked message would remain until you unlocked it or confirmed you wanted it deleted. Is that option available on the note 10+? I can't locate it if it is.

The only way you can customize it is by using Themes on your phone, those themes will alter the colors, but apart from that, there's not much you can do

I've heard a lot of people say that there is RCS between Samsung-Samsung devices already on samsung messages (I don't know though because I mainly use whatsapp), how can I tell if that feature is working? Is there a way similar to how messages and iMessage changes the colour of the chat bubble or some other way?
My problem with samsung messages is that samsung limits group messages to 40 recepients, so my work group messages of over 100 people doesn't display my received messages just a message bubble.

@@dog8438 Wrong, Aside from the US, China, Indonesia, and the Philippines use SMS a lot, they are the top 4 users in the world. A ton of other countries still uses SMS in Europe. As an example, the UK alone sent 74 billion SMS messages in 2018.
Actually, I don't find it much of an issue using Android Messages with my Galaxy Active 2 watch. There is an option to show messages from the Google app, and they show up fine on the watch. The only reason I use Android Messages is because of Messages for the web (which actually can install as a progressive web app).

@@jimmyispromo I guess this is the Microsoft "Your Phone" app ... but as far as I understand it, there is a special version for newer Galaxy phones. I have an S9, so I use the normal "Your Phone" app, and it works well, syncing pictures and receiving the notification of my choice. I'm really waiting for the call feature to go live for me. The texts show up fine too, but the app doesn't support RCS ... yet. If it did, I'd certainly consider switching to Samsung Messages.
Only reason I don't use Samsung Messages is because the group chat be cluttered with subject titles, when everyone replies. If there was a way to turn that off, I'd use it.
What i HATE about Samsung Messages is that you can't read long messages in the conversation, you have to click on them to open in a new window, that really sucks and i don't understand why Samsung doesn't give us the option to show long messages in full like before
You forgot to mention one thing, but that is ok, I'll point it out for you. Samsung Messages does NOT have those shitting adds. I do NOT use third party apps at all as far as messages, emails, phone dialer and such. Samsung's echo system is totally freaking awesome, everything involving Samsung products and software is just there. there is no need to connect once paired. SmartThings is out of this world, having the ability to control stuff by asking Miss. Bixby from anywhere around the globe is mindblowing.

RCS are missing in samsung message app.
You just have to turn it on in setting and be texting a galaxy or note phn. Just like iphone to iPhone

That is carrier based. Some carriers offer Enhanced Messaging.

Android messages also doesn't have a saved shared media. Its annoying you have to save it in the folder. Samsung messages does it automatically.
Also with android messages, you cannot save multiple media/photos simultaneously, you have to do them one at a time.

Just to add about notifications, you need to install the messenger app to the watch. I'm using galaxy active 2.

Samsung's echo system is totally freaking awesome, everything involving Samsung products and software is just there. there is no need to connect once paired. SmartThings is out of this world, having the ability to control stuff by asking Miss. Bixby from anywhere around the globe is mindblowing.
Samsung messages is for me the best. Cant do without the scheduling and pinning of contacts.
All I want samsung to do is just roll out rcs to all their phones. The s8 and s9 have it but not their newest and greatest phones?
