‘Want’ in Thai language: เอา/ao/ อยาก/yàak/ ต้องการ/dtông gaan/ |Learn Thai one day one sentence

Learn how to say ‘want’ in Thai language. There are three Thai words that Thai learners usually get confused about 'want'. In this lesson, you will understand what difference of those words is.
Moreover, there are three patterns of sentences about ‘want’, i.e.
1. Want + Noun
Want = อยากได้/yàak dâai/
I want a new car.
ผมอยากได้รถใหม่/pŏm yàak dâai rót mài/
I want a new job
ผมอยากได้งานใหม่/pŏm yàak dâai ngaan mài/
2. Want + object
Want = อยากให้/yàak hâi/
I want you to be happy.
ผมอยากให้คุณมีความสุข/pŏm yàak hâi kun mee kwaam sùk/
I want us to be friends.
ผมอยากให้เราเป็นเพื่อนกัน/pŏm yàak hâi rao bpen pêuan gan/
3. Want to
Want = อยาก/yàak/
I want to practice my Thai.
ผมอยากฝึกภาษาไทย/pŏm yàak fèuk paa săa tai/
I want to marry you.
ผมอยากแต่งงานกับคุณ/pŏm yàak dtàeng ngaan gàp kun/

It sounds like so is present tense and yaak dai is future tense
You could say that however, if you want to make it past tense you can say it with another word such as koie yàak dâai😊

Can you tell me what's better to use : koo vs ao when you go to some place and want to get some food? Or coffee shop? Should I say ao gafee krub or ko gafee krub? I guess ko gafee is a bit more formal?
To me, I would say either one. They are similar to me. Somebody else might have different opinions though 😊

1) dtông gaan + dâai + Noun.
-1) a - what is the meaing of dâai in this context?
2) dtông gaan + hâi + object.
3) dtông gaan + Verb.

Your questions are great and difficult to answer through this comment. I can generally say your 3 points are correct and you can say them like that. However, dtông gaan will have its own details of meaning if you want to go that far. And that will need more time to explain. Sorry hopefully this helpful.

One thing I am confused about is the Thai script at 9:42. Shouldn't the script be เขารู้ rather than เข้ารู้ ? After all, "he / him" is written as เขา.

@@thailessonsbynew Oh, I see: it's like how the yes/no question particle ไหม is written like it has a rising tone, yet is pronounced like "may/mae" during spoken Thai. I think it has a either a high or low tone, but cannot remember how to write this particle since it should be spoken rather than written.
