I seem to be binge watching your Route 66 videos and really enjoying them. Really glad to be using my headphones as the music you selected is great with them. Okay, what's next?
That’s awesome! Thank you very much! Have you watched any of my US 89 series from last summer? I did it similar to Route 66, but it’s a little bit more scenic.
Thank you wise guy, my husband used to giggle at me for not knowing history, he was good at it. I knew everything school wise but didn't like history. I'm interested now. Very good stuff
I truly enjoyed your trip on route 66 towns in Oklahoma. When I lived in Springfield MO, which is on route 66. Several times I would take trips on route 66 in both Kansas and Oklahoma I now live on route 66 in San Bernardino CA. Can't seem to stay away from route 66.
Just watched your video and subscribed to your channel. Really enjoyed your video of Route 66! Thank you for taking me along with you on Route 66 because, I'll never get to see it!
Loved variety of sunsets in video of Ok. The old round barn took my heart . It's priceless . Interesting video of Route 66 thru Ok. That old creepy music & road really isn' t my favorite.
That's hilarious. You stayed in a room I lived in for a year at the desert hills inn in Tulsa before moving to the apartments directly behind it which were at one point part of the motel. The apartments were deluxe one bedroom efficiencies converted into apartments. I used to love it there before moving to Oklahoma City.
My husband and I lived in Clinton in 1983 during the oil boom. I was 20 He was 21. He worked for Parker Drilling and worked on rig 114. I’m telling you as young kids we were rolling in the dough back then. We drove a diesel truck because you.u could fuel up on site and the saving in fuel prices made our truck payment. We spent hard and partied hard and fell hard when the boom crashed. There were thousands of kids just like us out there in the middle of that God forsaken country where it was hotter than hot and colder than cold and no trees to be found for miles but life was good. What a memory this trip of Route 66 brought back. Thanks for the ride along 😊
The universal prayer was "Please God, let there be another oil boom, I promise not to piss it away this time". Just out of High School, working at Parker, driving a Corvette (of course, what 18 y/o doesn't?).
I saw that old gas station turned into a cookie store. I sure hope you stopped in there. That would have definitely been a missed opportunity! As I always say, never pass up a cookie opportunity! 🍪 Hydro, OK - you know a town is small when someone parks their truck in the middle of the road to pick something up at the True Value Hardware store. lol That one ghostly road in Hext, OK looks straight out of a scene in "Big Fish" That was a good movie. It almost looks like you filmed in the Sepia design, it would have been super cool to film that road when there is fog on both sides of the road. And for an added ghoulish touch printshop the swamp monster in one of the shots.
Rainy Day so that I can not work outside, and am BINGE WATCHING YOUR TRAVELS. Thank you for all the work, and then sharing. If possible could you post a video of excuses I could give my wife as to why the chores are not done......only joking....your channel is grrrrreat.
i just subscribed and binge watching this little series you got going on. Pausing and taking notes. I laughed so hard at the clip from dirty rotten scoundrels. Perfect clip!! hahaha
You missed a real thrill when you bypassed the old (really old) section of rt 66 out of Miami. You have to go past the county fairgrounds and that section of road is really rough even for a gravel road. That section comes out somewhere around Afton where there is a marker designating the old vs the new.
I live in Oklahoma just north of Tulsa. I searched out that section once when coming back from Springfield. You can still see the concrete edges of the road. There is a local guy on PBS who does historic articles on Oklahoma & he covered how they did the original road. The state didn't have the funds to make shoulders for the road so they installed curbs instead. Probably caused a lot of wrecks considering how those old bias ply tires handled. There are actually 2 routes that 66 took through Tulsa. The old one followed Admiral and the newer one went across 11th street. Thanks for the videos. I have traveled rt 66 across Oklahoma, Texas and New Mexico. Going to try for all the way to California. @@TravelwithaWiseguy
The town Verdigris is pronounced with a silent "s." The town is named after the local river of the same name. This name was given by French traders in the region in the late 1700s. The original French spelling was "Vert-de-gris" which means "from gray to green," which was the traders' description of the unique colors of the river. (Yeah, I am a French professor... one of the few born in Oklahoma!) Despite what you might think from this name, the Verdigris is a very clean river. When I was a kid (in Tulsa) our family used to go up there for swimming, fishing and picnics. Even in the hottest part of the summer the water always seemed ice cold.
All native land, my last boyfriend was half native., Oklahoma, I believe it's Cherokee, he thought that I was native because through our travels natives liked me as a white red head girl. I know I like everyone unless they give me a reason not to. They probably knew that. I went to reservations with a couple from Montana, they called me mom
Ok, you’re staying at the cheap hotels I’ll go to when my wife not with me because she needs $150 per night hotels. Are you only filming dead towns and on Sunday ?
Just blowing though towns with no history narrative and missing most of each town. Wiseguy needs to up his game, he could learn a lot watching Joe n Nics travel videos.
LOL - Joe and Nic are great in my opinion. FYI I do lots of videos like that. This one was to show every town along the Route for at least a few seconds - which is often how people travel down Route 66. I've done many videos about Route 66 talking about the history of towns in Oklahoma.
SPECTACULAR STUFF. BRAVO.😊
Many thanks!!
I live in Norman OK and some of these places I've been to but others I didn't know existed. I am going to make a trip around my state.
That’s great! Oklahoma is a very fun state to explore!
I was born in 2003 and always wondered what that golden dome was for
Brilliant video! Takes me back to a simpler time. Thanks!
Route 66 Oklahoma is a great road trip!
Great video -- those little motor courts were all over Oklahoma when I was a kid in the 60s.
Thanks! Would've been cool to see it when they were busy!
Your channel makes me reminisce of Oklahoma in the old days
😊♥️

Thank you very much! I’m the same. Wasn’t a history guy when I was young but I love it now!
I really enjoyed this. I live in Tulsa currently. Was pleasantly surprised to see my hometown of Geary in this vid.
Thanks! I tried to include every town along the route. This was my first attempt at documenting a road trip so I certainly could’ve done it better!
Aren't you afraid of getting shot?

Thank you very much! Living on Route 66 in MO, OK or CA wouldn’t be bad at all!
TeePee Drive In is about to open this spring! It has been completely renovated! They opened briefly in October to show some horror movies!
That’s awesome that it’s opening back up!

Lot of hopes an dreams on Route 66
Yes there was! Fascinating part of Americana!

That old creepy road was a cool find but I understand it’s not everyone’s cup of tea.

Actually there are towns that the parking is in the middle!
This was a good video. I liked that eerie music with the dark, empty dirt road. This video took some effort on your part.
Thank you! It was cool to find that old road!

The Glancy motel in Clinton Oklahoma is being remolded, looks like someone bought it. It's going to be interesting to see it after they finish it.
I love when they remodel old Route 66 buildings and try to keep the history in tact! So much of it is becoming lost!
I'm moving to Claremore in the next few months and looking to drive that 😊
It’s definitely a wonderfully historic drive! Good luck with the move!
@@TravelwithaWiseguy thank you 😊
Born in Clinton,OK didn't spend much time there though. Moved north to Kansas when 6 months old.
Very well done! I’m enjoying all of the videos.
Thank you! It was definitely a lot of fun making them!
Great video, I really enjoyed.
Also found several POIs I missed on my recent Route 66 trip. 😉👍
Thank you! Oklahoma is full of interesting places along the route!
I'm from Altus Oklahoma way back in the 60's

Great videos!
Thank you!
I didn't know if you knew this or not,but Yukon is the hometown of Garth Brooks, says so on the water tower there
I actually found that out when I was on this road trip. So cool! Garth is great!
Yeah, but it wasn't in the video, that is why I was wondering
Yeah it’s hard to include everything about a town in a video. This one was kind of a drive by haha.
This was so good! April 2024
I also was born in Kansas, Smokey Hill AFB.
I got to return later, when it was called Schilling AFB
Ardmore , Oklahoma is my home town. I Fernando loaiza painted the train the first time. I charge the city of Ardmore $525.00.
Just a note; I like your WuShock pullover.
Thanks 🌾 😊

Awesome info - thank you! I knew I wasn’t saying it right haha. Beautiful area to explore 😊
they reopened the teepee drive in! FYI!!!!
I wonder if Calumet, OK is where Calumet baking powder comes from.
where is that tunnel at 6:03?
It’s just off to the right of 66 on a side street past Vergidris.

Kmart had a clothing line route 66
Does Kmart exist anywhere?
Maybe a few but not many!

Depends on the video. Often I film on the weekends but a road trip like RT66 I film everyday.
You missed the Route 66 village where a Steam Locomotive is
