Don’t worry! The Insta360 X3 is a powerhouse that’ll remain relevant for years to come. I’ll also keep using my X2, that’s for sure. But the drone is a very nice addition and is very useful in specific situations, like filming a challenging line at the skatepark or a big stair ride in the city. A 360 cam is still more versatile and also has more battery. 360 footage will remain the foundation for my videos, but it’s good to have the drone to bring some variation. 🙂
Thanks a lot! Yeah, that camera will surely add some very interesting perspectives. 👍 Did you already see my urban skating video with it? “First Urban Skate Flow with A SELF-FLYING DRONE: Putting The HoverAir X1 to The Test” th-cam.com/video/9_4OeBJUSHA/w-d-xo.html
@@TheRollingRaptor What happens when or if there are more people around, will it lose track of you and or will get onto other skaters? Gets confused? Stays with you?
@@CanadaBladers When I skated with a (small) group of skaters, it kept following me. Didn't seem confused at all. I've also tested it with our kids and their friends, all standing around the hovering drone, but it kept focusing on the right kid, even if it was making a full circle around the drone. So works pretty good.
I seem to love everything about this HoverAir besides the camera quality. Do you think comparing this to our everyday smartphone camera it stands up in the market? Any news on an X2? Great skating by the way and helpful video!
Thank you for the nice words! Yeah, the HoverAir footage tends to look heavily processed: oversharpened and too contrasty. With good lighting conditions - bright enough, but not too harsh - the clips look decent, but when I compare them to the footage I get out of my DJI Action 4, the difference is obvious (of course). Too bad there's no option to set the frame rate to 25 FPS or 50 FPS too. I haven't seen any rumours popping up on the X2 yet, but I expect to see an improved camera and hopefully a larger sensor too. Best thing - for me - would be an unsharpened log mode, preferably with the option to record in several frame rates. But for now, I'm already pretty happy with my self-flying cameraman. 🙂
Well, there are some really nice shots, especially the birds eye views. I was very close to buy this little gadgets, but hesitate because of the video quality and of course of legal restrictions we have here in Germany. But I like the combination of Insta shots and hoover x1 clips. Seems to be a good complement .👍
Yeah, the video quality is not the best, but the 2.7k is better than my Insta360’s, so it’s an improvement for me. 😄 I do indeed like the combo of several angles a lot. Gives some nice variation. Pity I didn’t have the camera yet in Dortmund! 😉
I can understand that. But distance shots with my Insta360 just don't work. With those wide angle lenses, you've got to stay close and it soon gets boring to look at. A tripod shot with a DSLR that has autozoom would be great, but those cameras are too expensive to my taste and also weigh too much to carry around. I prefer to travel light. And that's what I like about that drone: it's so easy to carry with you. And a combination of Hover Mode and Bird's Eye shots has a lot of potential, I think, for more relaxed cinematic edits.
Or you could get two extra batteries. 😉 I had my powerbank with me, so I could charge the 2 batteries on the go. That allowed me to film all day. I did shoot all the footage I wanted, both at the skatepark and when I was urban skating, and at the end of the day, the batteries still had some juice left.
Now we can see you falling from all angles! 😁
Haha, yes! Way more immersive, you'll feel it in your own joints. 🙂
I just finally got an Insta360 X3 to start making videos and now you tell me there's THIS? oh man, always one step behind the curve lol

Love your videos. It's going to be even better now with this new camera. It has many possibilities.

Impressive
Yeah, I was pretty impressed myself. 🙂

Now i want to see it follow you in the bowl at Kortrijk!
But then I want to see you dropping into that bowl as well! 😉
Nice vid quality, looking forward for the next edits 🔥
Yeah, I like the quality too. Not _the_ best, but certainly good enough for TH-cam. 👍
Brilliant. I look forward to your next video with that drone.
Thank you! It’s coming soon. 👍
Wow, need one of these!
I finally did what you've been telling me to do for a long time! ;-) And I'm very glad I've got this cool thingy.
@@TheRollingRaptor yeah, this is super awesome, can't wait to see more!!

cool gizmo and it's good that it exists, but i'd honestly prefer a tripod shot from the corner of the park over this frantic footage

Once the technology can film for 45mins to an hour instead of just 10mins. Then I would definitely consider buying one.

Excellent! AI will give us everything we need soon enough! 👌
Thanks! Yeah, let's hope it does. And that it doesn't give us too much of what we _don't_ need. 😅
First!
Congratulations! 🙌
