This is the same episode as Body in the Nursery, an early episode when the series first started, episode 14. Some different actors and a few other details…I.e, in that episode the man was awaiting execution.
@Fred Jamison Good enough guess, but the script didn't indicate that was the reason. Friday had no answer and it seems like he'd have made and mentioned that reason.
They caught him though, otherwise he’d have quite possibly gotten away with it. But I do understand how corrupt cops would and must have used this acceptable protocol to frame innocent people.
@@rmedley22I know, that was so common in these shows. Just let yourself in and search. They also would stop suspects and demand they empty their pockets, and as in this episode demand they “go downtown” without being under arrest. Today half of the evidence they uncovered would be tossed out of court.
thanks for the posting these great episodes
I love listening to the radio stories. They make the work day more pleasant.
Thanks for posting these programs they are great 👍
Room 42 .. Homicide ... love that line. And I know it will be a good one 👍🏼
Thank you for these, I listen during my daily routine!
So do I. I have one headphone in all day!!

"Abbott was executed in the lethal gas chamber at the state penitentiary, San Quentin." They didn't fool around in those days.
Damn lawyers interfering with the police trying to convict people! There ought to be a law... 🤔😉
BTW, Miranda didn't come around until 1966.
Did anybody besides me want to know who kept tipping off the lawyer in the middle of the night?

Re-tread of Eric Kelby (?) episode.
How many rights violations does Friday pull off in the course of an episode? 4th Amendment? Nope, doesn't mean a thing when Sgt. Friday's of the job.
Is this a repeat?
Nah, Burbank Airport has never let planes arrive or take off after 10:00 PM. It's located in a residential neighborhood.
Room 42…homicide
A remake of Episode 14: "Eric Kelby - Body Buried in Nursery".

Jack Webb is A Savage!!!
Why do you hate the police, Wanda?
EXTRA MIEEEEELLLD
Well, of course! Extra mild of ALL long cigarettes. 85 mm of cooling length.
I've always disliked this episode specifically over the tactic over keeping the suspect away from his lawyer
How about breaking into someones property at 4 am with no warrant.
They caught him though, otherwise he’d have quite possibly gotten away with it. But I do understand how corrupt cops would and must have used this acceptable protocol to frame innocent people.
They weren't ethical, but they were amusing with the horse meat and all.

If the dead wife was your sister you wouldn't care what laws Joe broke.
