I think it's awesome you reviewed this book. I remember reading the first 3 Halo books back in the day and will definitely watch anymore videos you make on the Halo book series.
Easily my favorite Halo novel. I’ve read it many times. I slowly stopped reading the books once 343i took over, but I highly recommend all of the Bungie era books including the book based on the game, “The Flood”. Also the 3rd book, “First Strike”, which takes place between Halo CE and Halo 2 is really good. Most of the books are good, I just stopped caring about the story after 343 took over because they weren’t doing anything interesting with it or moving it in a cool or interesting direction.
Yeah I'm definitely going to make my way through the Bungie books. The Flood just came in the mail today actually! It also seems like 343 has doubled the production of books since they took over so I'm not too sure if that means quantity over quality.
As an OG halo nerd. I read the halo book between halo CE and halo 2. While waiting for halo 2 to come out. This book will forever speak to me and Thankyou for this video. Very well done 🫡
This book is so nostalgic for me, I would read it every day after school. I loved it so much that I read it like four times lol. Great video by the way, your presentation and editing were fantastic.
I'd be interested in watching more videos of you summarizing lore books. I have a bunch myself, but I have neither the time nor patience to read them all, so it's nice to learn a little of what I've been missing out on c:
If you choose to do this with the Gauntlet Dark Legacy Tie-In Novel, be aware that it ends on a cliffhanger and the sequel can't be released because the books publisher/licensor died in a car accident and the situation became too complicated. Also, the author was only given a copy of the strategy guide in order to write the book - no other access to materials.
Really enjoyed this type of content, these books are truly awesome, this and Ghosts of Onyx are tied as my favorite and both of them tie into the games in a way that is handled perfectly for tie in media. Not strictly required but they tie in and enrich the other well and revisting them over the years for rereads and replays of the games is very rewarding. Hope you enjoy reading them and do a Ghosts of Onyx video at some point
@@campxbox Cheers the flood is a fun novelization of the first game, but ghosts of onyx is really my favorite. First strike too is also honetly really good too maybe third fav
hell yea, buddy! I love all the books - top notch lore. Nylund did the lord's work with those first few novels (he also worked on games like Crimson Skies)
The Gears of War books by Karen Traviss are also great, especially the Aspho Fields one. Now review the Brute Force book & cringe! (I have no idea if it’s good or bad lol)
unrelated but Forza Motorsport (2005) is now available on Insignia so that's pretty nice

I'm glad you enjoyed the video! I'm excited to check out more of the series!

@@campxbox some of the 343 books are brilliant too, don't write them off! Rubicon Protocol is one of my favourite books in the entire series
@campxbox please read up to Ghosts of Onyx for the best experience. Contact Harvest and Cole Protocol are optional
I love this book, I can legit remember the way the books SMELLED while I was reading it, such a crazy memory

Sounds good. It may be a slow process but I'd love to get more of these out.
A true banger of a book. First strike is another classic I adore as well
I'm excited to get to that one!
Spectacular video !! I'm probably alone in this but I enjoy the lore of Halo more than the games.
Glad you enjoyed the video! I love the games, but the lore is crazy good too so I get it!

I haven’t got any halo books yet but I was going to get some soon
I read the fall of reach, the flood, the one between halo and halo 2 and ghosts of onyx after school.
I actually read this years ago, not bad at all
loved this book!!
On the topic of Book tie ins to video games the assassins creed books are pretty good
Yeah I've been interested in those as well. I love history so that seems right up my alley.
Do more of these books! May I suggest Gears of War?
Yeah definitely need to get into more books! I'm about to read The Flood, but maybe to break it up I'll read GoW.
The Gears of War books by Karen Traviss are also great, especially the Aspho Fields one. Now review the Brute Force book & cringe! (I have no idea if it’s good or bad lol)
The Brute Force book is one I'm excited to check out!
Im just reading this! And i want to buy the next one ,called the flood if im not mistaken!
Yeah that's the next one. I bought that one while I was reading Fall of Reach lol
@@campxbox im gonna buy it too soon! I really love fall of reach until now!also i want to read the Gears of War books too.
This was fire Pookie
In all seriousness, does anyone know any trusted sellers of refurbished Xbox s? I've already had 3 die on me and I'm dying to get one that will last.
Read it as kid and I hated reading lol
0:38 Johnson meaning the black guy right? The clip shows Capt Keyes.
wort wort wort
Did you just say it’s implied Halsey has feelings for John, who she kidnapped and experimented on as a child?🤨
She has feelings for all her Spartans, just nothing romantic.
