- Decided I needed to break the silence with the prelude. This is the 1st video of many prelude related videos to come! Just going over parts of my project very generally. I hope to make future uploads going into greater details and highlighting specific aspects and progress. I got a lot planned and I have so much to say about my build and others. Stay tuned for more lude vids! Leave questions in comments, I will try to answer them all.

In texas you can spot a couple sometimes, i have a prelude with a h22a vtec with a 12mm turbo but im not done i have a 24mm turbo otw

I just bought a 1998 Prelude with a H22 Euro R engine and a Six puck Clutch. I believe it's a stage 4. The balls it has, has me like damn. I previously owned a Evo x and SRT 4. They didnt compare to this prelude. It's so loud. I have people in civics looking at me like WTF you got in that thing. LMFAO 😂😂😂 Vanilla Mint your Prelude is sick. About a year from now mine will be completely rebuild and improved. Thanks for sharing your video. I will do one once I get my prelude done.

I'm getting ready to go balls deep in a 97 prelude type sh I just picked up today for 500 bucks guy could not get it running did new timing belt and boom started up, but pulling the motor for a full euro r swap like your self, by the way its sick

How awesome!!! I sold my white 99 base back in 2006. Fast forward 12 years and I find myself looking on craigslist for my next prelude. A little older now but I always look back to my prelude days. I must say, your bb6 is one of the cleanest I've seen. This video is a year old, hopefully you still have the lude!

You have an rt4wd wagon too don't you? I'm also an rt4wd and prelude owner! XD 😆 had a 94 BB1 but we had a toxic relationship now I have a 96 BB2 that will be receiving an h22a swap with prelude vtec 1 2 3 and si 4 5 with wavetrac lsd. I like what you did with your bay, it looks quite nice. I hope to try at something very refined like you have. The p/s reservoir relocation is a brilliant idea. Definitely plan on pulling the abs out of mine. Would like to find any way possible to keep my a/c however. Wagon has a slow going b20b4 swap with rd1 5spd sbxm trans, rounding up the last bits for that. Props to you, I don't have it in me to make videos for TH-cam submissions.

Axles and bushings (control arms, sway bar, etc)? BTW, I've owned my 1999 since 2001 and lived with Prelude curse!
I just replaced my clutch and my drivers CV came apart. I put it back together but now I have a wobble at 30mph.

Hey Vanilla, I love your Lude... I have a 1997 Honda Prelude Base manual Trans H22A4 and I want to do the Euro R H22A Swap just like you did in yours... Quick question... Can I just swap/replace the H22A4 with the H22A Euro R with the old H22A4 wiring harness and ECU. Please advise..

It's slightly advanced but the car also has a full custom tune

That is a REALLY nice prelude.... You have great taste. I am building a 96 Civic coupe.it was originally an automatic with the sohc engine. Now it is about 75% converted to 99 - 00 So spec.running a LSVtec,integra type R head,chipped and socketed p28 ecu,no cat and apexi N1 complete cat back.it is a work in progress. Oh,that glass intake is really unique, never seen one before.

pretty sure the power steering reservoir has to be at power steering pump height level or higher because the fluid is just gravity fed to the pump but i could be wrong...

Beautiful engine swap. The bay looks amazing with the Downstar hardware. I have a 508 whp turbo Civic coupe and I have been wanting to get the Downstar engine and trans kit, but I have 20 other things that I need as well. I'll get it eventually. Always loved Preludes though, ever since I had my 86 2.0 Si.

Vanilla Mint I have been looking for a new head for mine but none of the auto stores have it there is one at the junk yard but I’m not trying to spend 300 bucks on one that has 200xxx + miles. Also have a hard time finding simple things like ball joints. I had to pay $52 just for one upper and it was only the ball joint not the hole upper control arm

Prelude is on point first off so props 👏 and question...where did you get raditaor brackets? And have you dynoed it? If so what numbers did you get?
Hello im doing this swap but i used the usdm harness, im just having problems with some hoses do you have any diagram of them or another video showing how the hoses are connected? Specially the ones from the back of the intake manifold?

Hello there, i have a question, im having problems with the ac compressor does it have a bracket or something? Im trying to hook it up cuz i bought a new one and the bolts doesnt fit they're too thick and the compressor holes are to small do you have any idea or recomendations?

Or offerup. Got my 97 prelude sh and just did a red top euro r swap, skunk2 manifold skunk2 70mm throttle body, skunk2 catback exhaust megan headers, CAI p28 chipped cpu running on chrome. Car is a beast and keeps up well with my altima v6 6speed manual with catback exhaust and CAI.

Hey, I am in the middle of the same swap right now and was wondering what to do with the vacuum lines that go to the intake manifold on the base lude? I cant find where to put them on the Euro R.
+CommanderGames I don't run a bunch of items in the car. So some of my lines are plugged. Roscko racing has alot of info on the euroR
Better to have cobwebs on nice parts than to have no parts and cobwebs in your wallet.

Hey Vanilla ! i was just curious what transmission do you have and does it mount right up to the chassis no mods needed?
T2w4 I use normal h22 innovative mounts
How does it shift, I have the same setup but hate the H series shifters / bushings. Did you make any modification to your shifter assembly / cables?
+Nathan Talghani my t2w4 shifts like butter. I had to shave the shifter box plastic to fit my short shifter but no other issues. Maybe your cables are stretched

11 years ago I paid 2850$ for the motor and trans. Seeing the prices almost around 4500 for one now. Plus add 1k for wiring, gaskets and other misc items
Where’d you get air Intake cone thing?
So I've got us 97 Honda Prelude it's got a H22 in it I want to put one of these Euro R Motors in it are they pretty reliable pretty strong or any Motors I know they put down a little bit more power than the regular h22a
+Lucas Lachney almost the same... it makes a little more.. But it's all about the manifold and trans that make it special. T2w4 trans is amazing and has a great gear ratio plus lsd

Ally Hassler sooo do I have to sleeve it just like the h22? I know the k 20 and 24 they can hold 400 hp with no problems on stock block. But expensive.. and thanks for the advise!
f20b is a bit better for boost. block is made out of iron, sleeves are iron also.
Is that broadway rear view mirror the flat clear or concave and is that clear? Cause mine is dark maybe cause of the window tint but dam kinda hard to see out off

+lalo ramos it will. Less bushings equal less play. And it gives you clearance of you're running a big header. Also cleans up bay as well as helps with launches

@@vanilllamint sounds about right. The people with the best builds have their cars for just as long. I had my del sol for 5 years, but I am barely going to strip it apart and repaint it. It shall take a couple years.

Ally Hassler what are you planning on doing? Staying 2.2L? Ported head,pro2 cams,sleeved motor and 12.5 comp on e85 should net you 270. Or a budget h23 non vtec crank/rods,you already have the euroR/type s pistons and just a ported head with pro2s should net you 260ish on e85

where is ur power steering oil recipient
I have a 2000 Honda Prelude and it leaks oil from the oil pan gasket replaced it with the oem rubber gasket and high tempt rvt and it's still leaking from the oil pan. Any suggestions from the VTEC Gods?
I would make sure the two surfaces are super clean before a new gasket. You confirmed that it was leaking from the oil pan? It may be leaking from another spot
replace the vtec solenoid gasket. Those are always leaking on preludes

Beautiful build I have a 01 lude bought it a couple months ago knowing the engine would have to be replaced soon so looking into the Euro R engine. Any advice?
Make sure you have all the parts to do the swap before hand. If you plan on staying odb2 you need to change alot of things. I did not go that route.
If you grab a JDM engine you need to either run obd1 which is what the JDM engines are set up for or you need to convert the jdm engine to obd2 mainly by picking up a crank sensor and reluctor wheel. I got a steal on an H23A VTEC/preludea setup from a kid who couldn't figure out the reluctor wheel part.
