Another excellent tutorial - please keep them coming!

So I've now watched all the videos you've uploaded so far and they are really good with lots of interesting information so once again, thanks for taking the time!
Amazing video and landing! Very helpful and informative, as I am learning how to do different approaches and landing because all I know how to do is an ils. (Btw, I’m not sure if over 80% reverse thrust was necessary, maybe next time only use about 40%, that’s all you need on a longish runway)
Thanks for another great video. Your Descent management tutorials have helped me no end! I always found it hard to judge the approach and end up low or levelling off before glide slope capture for fear of being too high. Certainly more satisfying to fly a CDA without messing it up. Notice you have never needed or bother with the FPA V/B V/S on the descent page of the CDU. Do you ever use this?
So if you're landing at smaller regional airports where the taxi time is less than 5 minutes so you stay the APU while on approach or until after touchdown?
Hi Muhamed. No need to start on the Approach, we start the APU after touchdown and we aim to get it on the "bus" by the time we taxi onto stand 👍🏼 FD2S
I like your tutorials a lot. But I have a question that has nothing to do with flying the 737. Can you make a screen shot of what your eyes see when your sitting in a 737. I want to know how I configure my virtual cockpit in a way what you pilots see when sitting in the chair of your plane for takeoff are landing. How high in the chair and how far from the glare chield Kind regards Jeen
Hi Jeen, I have positioned the most realistic eye point using EZDOK for all my tutorials. In the real aircraft you want to be able to just see the top of the glareshield. FD2S
Please make a video about how to go to the alternate aerodrome correctly. In this case the dispatcher vectorizes, or it is necessary to build a new plan? If both options, then tell about both.
Hi Вова. Yeah that would be quite an easy tutorial to make, you might get both vectored or be given routing via waypoints to an alternate airfield. I'll see what I can do in the next couple of week and I'll post a link to this comment once it's uploaded! Take care! FD2S
Thanks a lot gpinho7! You'll find different designators (X,Y, Z) usually when they have different approaches to establish onto the ILS and/or different missed approach procedures based on different navigational aids. FD2S
Hello FD2S, Thanks for the response. I use EZDOK to. In your tutorials is that a good pilots eye view? I ask you this question because it is hard to find on google. So you can just see on the top of the glare shield and how far from it on a scale view between 0.60 and 1. Maybe a strange question but it is fun to have the most realistic settings and fly experience. It is great fun to watch your movies I see them over an over. THANKS Kind regards Jeen
What I have set now is the best I can get to replicate the correct seating position in the aircraft taking the limitations of a desktop simulator into account. Good Luck! FD2S
love it, I noticed those procedure turn are quite different in the UK than in Canada, we do more like racetrack or hockey stick, is the FMS able to fly those also?
Hi Ram, thanks! I've never seen a 45/180 procedure turn in Europe. If it's programmed in the FMC and the approach is approved for a Category C aircraft then there should be no problem! FD2S.
Hi man, a bit of a noob question... How do you know on charts or on the displays or even fmc what the localiser is and what altitude you have to be to intercept it?
Hi Gilles There will be waypoints in the FMC that corresponds to waypoints on the approach, you have to locate and identify those points yourself! There is no specific height to intercept the localiser from, so long as it's established by the landing gate. FD2S
Thanks a lot for your helpful videos. I have one question. If we have a glideslope angle for instance 3.40 degrees, are the distances for flaps configurations remain the same or we should decrease the speed in advance?
Hi Ruslan, you’re most welcome. The 10nm Flap 1 and 4nm Gear down are targets but by no means mandatory, pilot flying has the sole discretion to configure when he pleases. If you have a strong tailwind on final (even 3 degrees) you might want to drop the gear/flap way sooner. 3.4 once established would definitely need Flap 5, if not Flap 10 to maintain speed. Good luck! FD2S
Thanks Piotr Kuler! Ideally we'll always try to achieve an idle thrust CDA. If needs be and we get really low we could set a V/S of -50fpm if really low, so long as we don't Level off! It will vary from country to country, some airports monitor CDA compliance as well. A link which you might find useful! www.eurocontrol.int/sites/default/files/publication/files/2011-cd-brochure-web.pdf Good Luck! flightdeck2sim
Hi Joe, Usually when they have different approaches to establish onto the ILS and/or different missed approach procedures based on different navigational aids. FD2S.
Hi Frank, We use the fix rings to increase our situation awareness and we have company specific SOP's regarding its use. They're based on the LDG RWY X1 x3 Altitude Ring. We multiply our CRZ by x3. E.g. If cruising at FL370 we'd have a 111nn ring, this roughly will correspond with TOD X1 10nm ring. The latest point at which we can select Flap 1 X1 4 or 5nm ring. The point st which we select Gear Down, Flap15. FD2S
So I wanted to choose an ILS approach, but I saw some different approaches too, like: LLZ 26. What does that mean because as long as I know it was VOR and ILS. Edit: I knew there was VOR/LOC but apparently there's also LOC/DME. Could you explain that to me? Also I see that you're not engaging the VOR/LOC before engaging the APP. When do you have to do that and when not?
Hi Leo. ILS is made up of two parts, localiser and glide path. LLZ or LOC approaches is just the localiser, you have to descend using a different pitch mode as there is no Glide Path available. VOR/LOC is a mode in the 737 which allows you to track to/from a VOR or localiser. DME is short for distance measuring equipment which is usually co-located with a glide path APP engage before VOR/LOC and G/S for an ILS. FD2S
flightdeck2sim yes, l was always wandering how a cold start procedure works exact the way you pilots do. And yes I saw new things. But that is in every movie you upload. A big thanks Kind regards Jeen
Another very informative video. Thanks for helping me take my flying to a new level. Can you explain what a "flag" is when you say no flags on approach? Thanks!
Fly with TB500 in a nutshell CAT II ILS has lower minima and would typically be flown as an Autoland. The rest of the info you can find easily online! FD2S
Like anything it takes practice then more practice. It really is worth the effort as all modern large aircraft use an FMC. Or you could just fly the 727, a very nice aircraft to operate. I flew one IRL for 3 years, it sharpens your basic flying skills hand flying a large jet with no autothrottle (and no autopilot below about FL100) 🙂.
Amazing video! I'm an ATPL student and your videos are so insightful; It's nice to see the theory I'm learning being translated into practice.
Hi Owen, thanks!
One thing is reading it all, putting it all into practice is something completely different!
FD2S
Ohkey .. This is what I was wondering that flying over destination airport !
Another excellent tutorial - please keep them coming!
So I've now watched all the videos you've uploaded so far and they are really good with lots of interesting information so once again, thanks for taking the time!
Thanks Richard! Expect a new tutorial very soon!
How to set up this kind of procedure in FMC? and how would clearance from atc look like? :)

lovely stuff

Hi Eink! Sounds good!
I really enjoy your videos keep it going

10:10 I almost called out loud “10000 ft. below essential communications only” then I realized I was watching a PC Sim....

Were do you search schematic approach??
Thank you for this very informative video!
You're welcome Jeremy, thanks!
FD2S
Great Video, what camera program are you using?
Thanks James.
I use EZDOK v2
FD2S
Who is publisher of charts you use in your videos?
Sometimes on the FMC there is the options for ILS X, Y, or Z for one runway... what is the difference? Thanks.
Hi Joe,
Usually when they have different approaches to establish onto the ILS and/or different missed approach procedures based on different navigational aids.
FD2S.
Excellent. Like every time, thanks à lot men !
Hello,
why did you draw 4nm and 10nm circles on FIX page? Thanks.
Hi Frank,
We use the fix rings to increase our situation awareness and we have company specific SOP's regarding its use.

Thank you for your hints.
Even he buttered the runway he says not bad lol
When u started pilot training, did u know anything about aircraft? Great video btw!
Well I started learning to fly I had some good background knowledge and thanks!

Thank you very much for your answer.
How do you know if there is a glide path or not, so how do you know which kind of approach you have to choose?
It will be on the chart LOC only if there was no glide path
FD2S
Thank you!
Thanks, your movies are big stuff.
Thanks Jeen, hope you learnt something new!
FD2S
flightdeck2sim yes, l was always wandering how a cold start procedure works exact the way you pilots do. And yes I saw new things. But that is in every movie you upload. A big thanks

Another very informative video. Thanks for helping me take my flying to a new level. Can you explain what a "flag" is when you say no flags on approach? Thanks!
Thanks!
It's relating to the standby ISFD to confirm there are no flags or messages displayed.
All the best!
flightdeck2sim
Lovely ... As usual !
Thanks Jellybert, glad you enjoyed it!
FD2S
FD2S Whats the second ILS Category
Fly with TB500 in a nutshell CAT II ILS has lower minima and would typically be flown as an Autoland. The rest of the info you can find easily online!
FD2S
flightdeck2sim no, I mean the aircraft ILS Category
Do you mean what category ILS can the 737-800 fly to??
FD2S
The FMC is the one thing stopping me from flying modern heavy metal! It's too much to deal with.
Like anything it takes practice then more practice. It really is worth the effort as all modern large aircraft use an FMC. Or you could just fly the 727, a very nice aircraft to operate. nice! i made a video going to dubai to auckland not that long ago can you check it out and tell me what you think about need some tips
I dont like it, speaking to fast, not explaining step by step,
