      I was about to buy this last night, 1 hour before launch, and saw this crap on the stream page. It made me hesitant. Then I watched someone trying to play it live on yt, he barely got to play 30 mins of 1.5 hour stream. Fuck this.

      Well, Kira there are over 57,000 people playing this game on steam at 3 AM. So I just venture to guess that nobody agrees with your opinion about this game or they’re hypocrites and they agree with you but still bought the fucking thing and are playing it I mean it’s 3 AM, this is in fact kind of a western title I mean I know I know it’s not a western game but it’s a tractive to the western users and there are over 57,000 people at 3 AM playing this game and that’s just on steam and I know it’s on PlayStation and I’m pretty sure it’s on Xbox as well so you’re probably lookingat 100 to 150,000 easily actually more like 150,000 to 200,000 people currently playing this game right now. I’d say you’re in the minority with your opinion about the cash app. Everybody else has looked at it and said it doesn’t matter to me. I don’t have to spend money on any of that shit

      @@octitawhythisnameistaken The secret book of metamorphosis is in DD1 and you can buy it for 10k rift crystals later on.
      It lets you redesign your characters as much as you want.
      Rift crystals themselves are easily acquired once you reach the endgame (Bitterblack Isle) or if your pawn gets hired by other players.
      It's already bad enough that they're selling it as an actual microtransactions in the sequel, if itactually turns out that they removed the books from the game just to sell you the solution for real money that'll put Capcom on an even bigger shitlist than they already are.

      @@octitawhythisnameistakenI'm not defending micro transactions but they haven't taken anything out. You can get it all in game. Again not defending it.
      A separate point is I guess that if you are money rich and time poor then buying something might be seen as a good investment. Again not defending just putting forward what some others will say. Infact Kira mentions it.
      Micro transactions are so much of a part of gaming now that an entire generation of players have never known any different. I can remember a time before but I'm guessing a bunch of people can't. To them it's all just a question of degree and invasiveness. I'm also guessing that a bunch of people don't understand the idea that the game could have made a game harder or more annoying just to try direct you to the cash shop. Or that designing and implementing micro transactions takes developer time away from the actual game.

    • @Lenariet
      @Lenariet 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      @@flirineltd6921There are people who play such games only with friends. I'm no stranger to randoms ruining online PvE with cheats. But it maybe shouldn't be forced onto everyone like that. Some people keep reporting worrisome things about the AC that Helldivers 2 is using. I considered buying it but haven't done so far because I don't want to potentially ruin my system just because a few randoms in the game might instantly kill all the bugs or whatever. But hey, if it's running fine for you and you're enjoying yourself then that's great I suppose. Still, if the reports of the developers stating that their primary reason for including this AC was to protect the progression in the game and by extension the MTX they are selling then in my opinion this deserves some scrutiny.

    • @naosou921
      @naosou921 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      This has nothing to do with the developers or the game director. CAPCOM has some kind of mandate that every game needs to have MTX in them. Look at Resident Evil 4, Monster Hunter World or Devil May Cry 5.
      It is 100% one or more high ranking executives that nobody can touch, because these decisions have been shat on and criticized for years now and they still don't change course.
      My biggest gripe with this video, in fact, only gripe, is that Kira seems to use "publisher" and "developer" as if they are the same thing. As if developers work hard for years just to fuck their game with these microtransactions.
      It is 100% a publisher thing. It is the marketing executives that do this, not developers.

      @Laxora_NZ 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      Nintendo would absolutely jump onboard with this, but not because they don't want you modding for free, the just don't want you modding at all, because "that's not the way we intended for the game to be enjoyed". They wouldn't even monetize it, they'd just make it so they could revoke your access to the products you've bought if you're caught modding at all, it could be a bloody paid calculator app and they'd still revoke and ban your access if you modded it if they had their way.
      I realize this is a tangent from the original discussion, but it's just what this made me think of immediately, and Nintendo doing it would be more than enough reason for other companies to start doing it even if it's for different reasons.

    It might be worse than you think: the proliferation of this anti-consumer approach will also empower publishers to be more litigious. Consider this; if normal in-game items can be conflated with a real world monetary value then publishers can easily prove that mods, trainers, cheat engines and the like cause direct monetary damage. I'm not certain Capcom make a killing of this to be honest, in terms of volume sold. But it costs them almost literally nothing to implement, so any sales they make on this is free money as far as the suits are concerned. But any number of people roped into buying them is too many - utterly baffling that Capcom continuously trade in any good-will they could get for releasing good, complete video games by adding such bad faith "DLC" to their games. They've been doing it for decades now. I find it a real shame that the straw that broke the camel's back was this game though, because it's really fun when you're actually playing and blissfully unaware of the microtransaction travesty that surrounds it.

  • @sioandel6248

    The only reason why they add the items I can come up is that some random higher-ups walked into the office and ordered the developers to add them because microtransactions are proved by the market to be super "popular" and can increase the revenue.
    The most horrible part of this is that most of the items they sell are not even hard to get or super useful. For reference, imagine selling 30 mega potions for 1$ and 10 max potions for 2$ in monster hunter. It feels like Capcom wants to scam every single coin out of knowledgeless customers.
    The game is not designed around those microtransactions, many design choice are even work against them, for example, the same camping kit sold in the store is cheaper than an early game armor set in-game, and you don't even need one because like 90% of the camping sites have a free kit put next to them. And the "teleport stone" people are talking about can't really make the game more convenient, you can get one early in the game, and more later, veteran players only need one to be efficient and having one or two doesn't make much difference for newer players.

      I believe most of it is bots or random Indian guys who were hired for a pittance off Fiverr and given a script to use by AAA publishers. A lot of their drivel is aimed at smearing opponents of this stuff as poor or of low social status, which makes sense, because the AAA industry couldn't stand massive boycotts of their trash and needs to convince normies that only social outcasts refuse to buy these exploitative games.
      Imagine 100 people considering this $70 game. If 10 people refuse to buy it, 89 of them buy it but don't pay for MTX, and one whale buys it and also buys $700 in MTX, the publisher breaks even. If the whale buys $701 in MTX, they made more money than they would have by not including MTX. If, on the other hand, the normies also refused to buy, the whale wouldn't have enough money to buy enough MTX to compensate for all the lost sales, so we see these massive (but cheap and low-effort) campaigns to try to push the notion of boycotts out of the normies' minds.

    Horse armor is different because it is something added. This is features removed from game purposely that you have to pay for, that's found in every other game. It's basically a flag for most of these. Then the game has DRM again purposely, since it's single player. Anti cheat is only there so ppl don't mod a new game or character editor easily. Then a Capcom cloud server for a single player game is again so you can't just make a new game or edit saves.

Then add Capcom server so your local save is moot and you can't just simply delete your save. Then drm also will BAN some people for deleting their save. Removing new game which is found in every single other hand from BEFORE Gameboy Pokémon till now its one massive, self made problem. You can't even really mod a fix that just makes multiple save slots, because drm. Dragons Dogma 1 had no such issue. This is blatantly removing a feature found in nearly every game ever and certainly single player games.

    The thing about the slippery slope is that for a DECADE we've been having this discussion. Things haven't changed and they won't change. Gamer's DON'T vote with their wallet at large. Boycotting this or getting upset about it doesn't change anything, we have at least 10 years of conversations about it to prove it.
    AAA publishers will always shoehorn in MTX's. This is just reality now, and no amount of anger will prevent it.
    I'm not saying we should be grateful that the MTX's in DD2 are relatively tame in that everything can be obtained through gameplay, but i think it's totally valid to tell people they're being dramatic for acting like the MTX's are the worst thing that Capcom could have done, especially compared to some of their peers in the industry.

    So I've played both games, both gams had Mtx (DD1 had less, but different and more game-breaking than DD2's), and so how is DD2 contra DD1's balance, as it pertain to Mtx-related items? DD2 is by far more generous, with the 'mtx' related items.
    Both the "fast-travel" item, and the "character creation" item feel like noob-traps designed to trick people suffering from FOMO, and\or regret\wishing for an easier time, without realising how either really work.
    --
    For the portstone (TP-item). It lets you place it and it becomes an TP-able spot (you can only teleport to specific spots, i.e; capitals and portstones, anywhere else is non-tp able), you'll still need to find\buy ferrystones, which is expensive
    are, having a portstone from start of the game serves little purpose, and will make the game harder by frequent use (due to how you'll be hurting for cash, thus can't get new equipment, etc, etc).
    To utilize the 'character creation' item, you need to get to the capital and walk to the building right next to the building that sells it for in-game currency (which, by this time, you'll have at least 1K of, thus can afford 2 if desired)...
    So yeah, noob-traps.

There's no way to pay for fast travel, character edits aren't locked behind a paywall, you get more rift crystals than you can spend, all this moral strong arming over what's essentially nothing is sad.

      @@georgeharris9569 you get the full experience at the normal price, you're just regurgitating what you've heard without giving it any critical thought or due diligence. If you want to pass on the game because of the optimization issues that's fair, but pretending that you're some morally superior consumer because you're not supporting micros is laughable, by not buying the game, you're not telling Capcom that you don't want micros, but that we don't want more single player action RPGs, and the fact of the matter is these micros are here to stay, and they have been in Capcom games for years. Nothing you do will change that, you're just willingly passing an amazing game.

      How do you know that the microtransactions where not considered while making the game?
