I didn’t know this until I was about 33 years-old; until then, I believed everything that passed through my head. You can imagine how troubling this was, and also how LIBERATING it was - so late in life - when I finally learned my thoughts aren’t all factually true and shouldn’t be trusted! Freedom from suffering!

8:17 This reminds me of a time I was on a long drive to Los Angeles. I was alone on the open road in my '79 El Camino, & feeling miserable.
I decided it was up to me if I was going to have a good drive or a bad drive, so I threw in a Bob Marley CD and started singing and dancing with the windows down, wind blowing my hair. Soon enough a car came up and we were roaddogz all the way to L.A., letting each other pass and waving at each other, smiling. That never would have happened if I hadn't decided to let my hair down and be joyful for what I had

@@mimiya1814 It sounds simple when he speaks it and common sense right but its not that simple when you’re in your own mind. Right now my anxiety is crazy over some medical tests I need to have done. I am obsessing over all the bad outcomes and “sabotaging myself”. We all have the power to control our minds thoughts perceptions when we are mindful of the type of thinking that creates the stresses in our lives. It’s a practice called mindfulness, which again sounds simple, but it is not as simple as it seems.

I take life in full swing. If I get sick I take full responsibility, I don’t blame God or the universe. I don’t wait for others to fix things nor engage in wishful thinking about how things should be.
