If Parson's last words were 'but I wasn't finished yet' is true, it wasn't suicide.

You mean the same Parsons who was besties with Alaster Crowley and L Ron Hubbard, helped launch NASA and spoke to inner dimensional beings on a regular basis?
L Ron worked during the war with Robert A. Heinlein and Issac Asimov as reported by Heinlein, don't recall that he mentioned Parsons but it's possible that they met at some point. Not that that means anything, but it's interesting that a lot of these people met, or were at least aware of each other. L. Ron was a bit interesting according to RAH anyway. This was before scientology, but he ran with a bunch of interesting people.
@@sammcrae8892 Hubbard worked with KGB to steal secrets. Asimov helped suppress the true science by brainwashing the public with mainstream science ideas.
The famous Isaac Newton dabbled in alchemy. I love eccentrics who are highly intelligent.

L Ron took off with Parsons wife. They knew each other. @@sammcrae8892
Dude has some crazy eyes
It's more likely that if this wasn't just an accident, that L. Ron Hubbard had a hand in this. Ron was supposed to be Jack's friend and together the two had summoned The Empress ( against Aleister Crowley's wishes ). Ron had stolen Jack's girlfriend and stolen a yacht and money from him, also.
In Thelema we don't view women (or men) as property so Ron couldn't steal his G/F, we're all on our own orbit and if her orbit was to be with Ron then Jack would not have cared in the least. It was also Jack's ex-wife's sister whom he left his wife for.
There is nothing possessive about a relationship to a Thelemite.

The real shuddering question is what's happening to Jack Parsons now , because of his involvement and desire to be possessed

@@barrycooper8640 I agree horoscopes and ESP are nonsense.
I am concerned that New Testament writers warn against delving into the occult.
Himmler and other Nazis had fascination with occult activities.
His analytical genius and intuition probably led him to assume there were higher spheres of knowledge.
When I was a youngster, my hobbies included high energy materials bordering on pyrotechnomania, and the specter of accidental ignition is always present working with such substances.
Even professionals can have accidents - I knew a
licensed fireworks man that was killed in the process of moving mortar shells into a trailer in preparation for a 4th of July event. Had my own close calls....my grandmother had a husband when she was a young woman that had intractable cancer and decided to check out - they worked on a ranch and he had a case of dynamite for quarrying, and on that day he took it out to the quarry, sat down on it and, well, went out with a bang.
This Jack had a lot of enemies however, and certainly his lab could have been sabotaged....I doubt he would have killed himself with HEs though, too painful!

L.Ron & J.P. performed Crowleys' "Great Work" ritual in the desert. They gated an entity named Hillarion, but didn't succeed in closing the gate at the end.
9 months later, Hillary Rodham was born !
This documentary is remarkable for completely ignoring Robert Goddard, the father of modern rocketry. Goddard perfected liquid fuel rockets in 1923, and started his experimentation in 1909, before Parsons was even born. Goddard's work was very well-known and admired in American rocketry (he also invented the multi-stage rocket), and ignoring his work to make Parsons sound more interesting is a real sin. Parsons' life is weird enough as it is - you don't have to engage in puff journalism. Also, blowing up a room to blow up a room demonstrates nothing - it's just more sensationalism. I would have much more appreciated this if it had concentrated more on Parsons life, and filled in more details.
I was going to comment the same thing!
Goddard's work was important, but he was secretive and reclusive, refusing to share the details of his results with colleagues. Therefore, although impressive, his experiments don't count as legitimate science, which needs to be adequately peer reviewed. Real science gets written up in accord with sound methodology and published in a publicly accessible manner so that experimental results can be critically evaluated, repeated and confirmed. Goddard wasn't willing to do any of this. Parsons and the other scientists who founded JPL, in contrast, fulfilled these criteria, and were therefore responsible for establishing rocketry as a legitimate scientific field, not just something eccentrics like Goddard were developing privately. Credit does need to go to people who fulfill the role of turning ideas into science, even if they weren't technically the ones who first came up with them.
I think Robert Goddard died of natural causes.
Goddard was a liquid fuel guy, not a solid fuel guy like Parsons. Totally different technologies. Cryogenic liquid fuels are not suitable for military ICBMs. They need to launch on a moment's notice. Solid fuel is much better for that.
totally agree with you ❣️
Jack was supposedly inspiration for the character Tony Stark. Other reports say it was Howard Hughes -- funny both these men crossed paths in real life.

I first learned about Jack Parsons through researching Scientology. It did prompt me to google him. But having a seance with L Ron trying to incarnate some female succubus (can't remember the name) was pretty wacky. But then that's what scientists do. They question and research. Thanks for this.

fascinating and tragic. However, it’s so obvious from the pictures that the explosion happened above the floor boards and likely right on the floor that it makes me wonder why the script writer could possibly include the statement, “he very well could have place and explosive under the floor where Jack was working”. Obviously not.
I'm thinking since they said his right hand was blown off, what exploded was something he was holding in his hand at the time
@@greendragn or he was holding something and dropped it, it slipped out of his fingers or he spazzed in some way and then went to recover it before it hit the ground but did not get it in time.

I happen to know for a fact that the rockets red glared a very long time before that demon in a flesh suit was ever born into this world.
It's the difference between solid and liquid fueled rockets. Solid fuel rockets have been around for almost as long as gunpowder. Low fueled rockets are FAR more complex and difficult to optimize.

I get the impression that he was somewhere on the autism spectrum, likely with a dose of ADHD mixed in. His tendency to not understand security rules and his complete lack of worry about his own safety in pursuit of a goal are major red flags.

The accident scenario is by far the most plausible. Virtually to the complete exclusion of the other scenarios mentioned.
Obvious inspiration for Howard Stark.
Jack has appeared as a side story in several fictional narrative podcasts over the past few years.
A brilliant, interesting, engaging and rather reckless character. Would have been cool to meet.
Absolutely. Stark looked exactly like Parson's in the film. Eerie.
I agree, i noticed this similarity
Tom Thurmon’s assessment isn’t exactly an unbiased opinion, or dispassionate view. As a man with a long career, associated with, and working for the US government, you would hardly expect him to lend any credence to the 'US having Parsons knocked off' theory. I think there’s much to be said about such an hypothesis. And if you think that the US government would’ve surely never been involved in something so nefarious, then all I have to say to you is, “Oh you poor, poor dear. Aren’t you just most adorable thing.”😆
One of parsons squad members was the grandfather of ghislaine maxwell

If police had pictures of his leaving preparation we should know why they were watching him to start with 😂
The explosive/accident replication was really well done and thought out. Great job!
If he was so obtuse, could he have been autistic?
Possibly. Einstein was.
I think so
Some of the genius were autistic
Most likely
I guess he died 34 years to the day before I was born... Thaaat's... kind of weird to think about.. Because, before I did the math, I was thinking this seemed like ancient history. I guess I'm getting old.. There were still a lot of people born in the 1800's when I was a kid.. I remember that realization hitting me one day a few years ago - that there's almost no way anyone born before 1900 was still alive.. There's only one left now - she's lived through 3 centuries. Also, I've always thought it will be weird someday when most elderly people play videogames and listen to like rap and heavy metal in the nursing home. I mean, I guess it'll be normal at that time but to just jump to the future and see it would be weird. Jeez... Not as if that has anything to do with anything lol..
Why would LAPD be investigating this explosion when Pasadena has their own police department?...Also the LA County Sheriffs would assume the investigation if PPD did not have the capability of investigating it...
Obviously the FBI could not let this man live.
Like this story. Tragic mysterious now I know a pioneer of rocketry I hadn't heard of. As a young man I was aware of Rocketdyne, JPL & Aerojet.

First things first. Shouldn't Robert Goddard be given the title of America's first rocket scientist? Combustible fuel is the most ridiculous way we could think of to go to the stars. And we will never go to the stars with rocket fuel. We might just as well be using a sling shot. The first way we might achieve interstellar travel is with the nascent science of "field propulsion". In this manner will likely develop FTL travel, we certainly won't get there with rocket fuel. (JPL on Rt. One in Laurel, Maryland was one mile from my house, a very unassuming little lab. I walked by there many times. It felt like the place I should work. Now I know why.)
Jack Parsons' rest in peace.
However, combustible fuel IS the best way to get out of the earth's atmosphere.

Where did Parsons, an occultist gain his advanced technological knowledge that the government would give him such high level clearance for?
In the early pre-cursers of the current space programs it is said that the beings that they made contact with were less extra- terestrial and more interdimensional.
This is why they build space facilities on areas with high supernatural activity.
Why do you think biggalo the billionaire space mogul bought skin walker ranch? Did he find out what parsons knew, perhaps?

This guy fits the religious tendency stereotype, kind of under the impression it was meant to be and he had higher powers watching out for him, tend to not make the most rational decisions. Sad considering the genuis he possessed. Nice documentary. I wasn't aware of him until this point, glad to know of now. Still sounds like an assasaination. He could have been knocked out from a gas and then dropped it, someone could have tampered with the mixes before hand, hard to tell if it really was the company calling, still sounds awfully suspitious and chances were it wasn't investigated enough. RIP Jack and thanks for all you contributed.

One of the things that held Parsons back was he never got an advanced degree. He was a self-taught scientist. Although he was smart enough to be a Ph.D., he never got one. This generated a lot of envy and contempt from others who had Ph.Ds and lacked his genius. L Ron Hubbard recognized Parson's magikal genius as well. Despite everything that happened between Parons and Hubbard, Hubbard had a natural aptitude toward magik and could have been one of the great Magus' of the 20th century had he chosen to go that route.
