The way you pronounce it in Japan is actually the same way we pronounce it in Sweden too lol

That's crazy. In america we pronounce it "eye-key-uh" and I've never heard it pronounced any other way. Super cool.

It’s weirdly comforting seeing IKEAs are all pretty much the same the world over. For a second there it was like I was in Wednesbury IKEA again 😁. That Daim ChocolateTorte is the best.

São João do mundo I didn’t say they are all exactly the same. I’ve been to a few in the UK and the ones I’ve seen in videos abroad all kind of look the same. I’m sure there are stores that are different and have regional differences as well 👍

Wednesbury is our nearest IKEA, and when we were in Sweden we dropped into an IKEA for lunch. It was cool to see that what we get in the UK s pretty much as in IKEA's homeland...and prices were very reasonable.

We always go to IKEA Singapore for swedish meatballs and deep fried chicken wings. That's the default. Then sometimes we have salmon. They will always have local dish as well.

Thanks for taking us to ikea! Hope you got those meatballs & other Swedish munchies from the freezer section to take home so Kanae can make a magical flat pack inspired dinner 😆 On my first trip we got told off by a big sumo style guy in the silence car on Shinkansen (we tried to be quiet honest) ... he held the info card up to us and sternly said to us “SIRENCO CAR... Shhhhh” and motioned 🤫... one of my fave memories 😂

I visited the Tokyo Bay store 3 years ago and ate meatballs in that restaurant. :) I can recommend trying the new plantballs when you get the opportunity. Not sure if they have started serving them in any of the store restaurants yet, but I tried them a few weeks ago at the IKEA museum restaurant in Älmhult, Sweden. I wasn't sure first if I really got the plantballs or if it was the regular meatballs. They taste like meat, but are vegetarian. Tasted good in my mouth at least. :)

IKEA is actually really good about social media but I was purposely trying to film down and not at customers faces so they don’t feel comfortable. I said okay 👌 I wasn’t actually in any trouble but I want to be respectful, not talk in too loud a voice etc and have my mask on 😷 when not eating. We were purposely in an area far away too. Anyway, we have to get the rental car back on time so it was good to go get the rest of the shopping done ✅

In USA, same. Maybe OK to leave a couple inexpensive jackets or sweaters draped over the chair backs. But definitely not a bag (that seems it might have a wallet in it).

The food looks healthier and Costco, which is in the same area. :D

Indeed, a reason why we passed up the pizza and hot dogs at Costco just before this to eat at IKEA 😋 more relaxing here too.

@@onlyinjapanGO I admit..I've never been to IKEA itself, only through the mall on the way to costco. I plan to go once I finally get back to Japan.

What?! Really? At IKEA? I thought maybe it would be like McDonald’s and the taste is the same no matter the store.

Back in 2013 Ikea had to recall a batch of Meatballs that was manufactured in a Czech Republic and was distributed in Europe Horse DNA was found in the Meatballs.....but I still love Ikea’s Meatballs.....Cheers Mark🇦🇺
