I run intakes on both ends and both outputs in the middles with the nozzles facing up and outwards so it agitates the surface and creates aeration on top of water
You could have installed a MarineLand HOB with BioWheels instead... 👆 That was just for attention. I love how *America* this install is. You can never have too large a battery in a vehicle, and from what I've seen online - too much filtration. Plus, you have to keep the tank stand looking uniform, so yes, an FX6 was absolutely a mandatory installation. I LOVE THIS INSTALL. This was a great video; It was detailed, fact based, had great visuals and is a perfect step by step on an install that I'm sure your Fish are appreciating. Cant overkill the quest for success. 🎉
@@cichlids253 one FX6 would be just fine. You’re not gaining anything by adding a second one except for maybe not doing water changes as often. There’s plenty of beneficial bacteria, filter media and power in one FX6 for a tank that size.
@@salvatore1117 yes and no definitely not with all the fish I had in there I was over stocked so having two was needed with just one fish sure I could only need 1 now but when it’s bigger I would definitely need both . Plus my fish loves high current and requires pristine water I still do 50 -80 percent wc weekly
Believe it or not, Fluval considers the use of more than one FX5 or FX6 on a single tank a "misuse" of their product that voids the warranty! I've just gone through it with them. I have 2 FX5s and 2 FX6s in series on my heavily stocked 450 gallon cichlid tank. When I asked a question about it they asked for a picture of my setup. As soon as they saw the pictures, they voided my warranties and told me I was "misusing" their products!!!
Nice tank set up! Although one FX6 is plenty enough. Also you might want to buy a Rocketfish multi plug power surge. Just so you can get the maximum voltage power & reduce an eventual power outage. Other than that keep grinding bro! 😎🐟🇺🇸
Wait you can go THAT long without changing the media filters and all? I think you said 18 months? I’m not familiar with this type of filters. I use the hang in back normal ones. Can never get my water to stay crystal clear. Will these types do the work? I’m about to get a 125 gallon. Will ONE if these be enough? Thanks
To all lesser fortunate fish hobbiest, 2 sunsun 3000 w With 700+ gph will run you about 275$...they are just as good and have UV lights also....plus you save about 125$
I have a 125, the same thing as yours, and I want to get into getting fresh water stingrays and I know they need a lot of filtration so could I get away with one fX6 or would I need 2
I’m about to put 2 on my 375..do you think two FX6s is enough or would 3 be best? My goal is to eventually get three running it but wanted to start out with two with about 35 African cichlids going in the tank.
I think that would be great… two should do the job with that type of bio load. I would recommend a more robust biological media such as bio home ultimate. Just as your fish grow out and create more waste, I would keep up on regular water changes and filter maintenance. That could be said about any type of filtration with any sized tank. Thanks for watching!
You need to add a wave maker with return output and wave maker all on the same side. That is the best setup 👍nice tank
Cool idea
@blakev3934 works great man minimal water changes depending on stock. Just keep a constant loop going. Take care bubba🤙

What a great vid with good music. A pleasure to watch. 👍
Thanks for watching! Much appreciated

Love the setup man …….. !!!!!!
I think that’s a great improvement dicus will benefit
That’s an insane amount of filtration and flow for a 125. You could’ve spent $40 on a power head or maybe even a spray bar kit to accomplish the task.
Yes you’re correct… but that wouldn’t be as fun now would it!?! 😂
you can never have to much ask your fish
Not really discus require pristine water to be really healthy I run 2 fx6 on my 135

Those filter are awesome! . Tank looks great. Overkill . Lol
Thanks Jeff! The obsession continues… 😂 😂 😂
So what would be ideal for a 120 - 125 if u don't think 2 is necessary?? I was going to set up 2 FX4's in my 125 tank.
Thatd work as well @@CaliCowboy805
love FX6 !!!

I'll check it out!
that's crazy!! you have as much filtration as I do in my 400g

1 will Definitely do
I'll also be adding two fx6 on a 125gallon. In the end, what did you find to be the best intake/output set up? Did you keep it like this?
I kept it the same… added a circulation pump that runs three times a day on a timer that moves a lot of the dead space. Highly recommended.

Just had a $400 fx6 brand new sitting in the he garage? Must be nice.....
Not a rich kid here. Paid significantly less than that for that extra filter. Work hard=Play hard
😂 for reals. But were there's a will there's a way.

Where do you find the freshwater stingrays???
Beautiful tank man! What brand light are you using it looks great

I find its trial and error for setting up the outputs not to positioning of it just the angles of it
I like your tank stand. From petsmart right? I wonder if this stand is built any better than the original looking stand they normally make.
“Overkill Is My Middle Name” lolol
Great setup. Looking forward to a review in a few months.
Any plans with the 306?
Somebody is going to get in trouble put that on that dinning room table!!!! Ijs 🤪
Haha…. Yeah she’s used to all my shenanigans. I try to clean up everything so there’s no complaints! Thanks for watching!
How's the stand holding up?
The stand is still rock solid… very happy with the quality!
