Loved this, thank you, your mum just radiates positivity. To see an older lady look so fantastic and not have that menopause belly is wonderful. And i really picked up on the point she made when she said she FEELS so good. To break free of junk food is amazing... lots of love to you both. I love this channel so much ❤ 🤗

I’m in your SOS program and like your mom my cholesterol was totally out of control.I asked my doctor what could I do and she said stop eating anything that tastes good. I went on my version of a wfpb diet a year ago and had my annual checkup and my doctor asked me what in the world had I done?!!!! My numbers were all in line and now that I’m on the SOS program it will only get better. Jana Dean

OMg your Mom and I are twins! at age 52, I had an extra 30 pounds and high cholesterol, and the meno-pot. And going whole food plant-based took care of it all, without being hungry, ever. I eat a ton of food! Now, I can’t even imagine eating anything but this way. it’s so amazing.

I just want to say how much I appreciate your channel even more now. I’ve been following you for a while but recently I’ve had a change in my health. That’s made me look more at my diet for health and not necessarily weight. You are so on point when you mentioned processed foods and the way they give us a high and also that most people take a look at their diet more closely as health issues arise. I firmly believe now that a good, healthy diet can avoid many health issues and scares. Thankful for your channel. 💕💕💕

The Healthy Mummy playlist is excellent! I am the same age as your Mother, same issue with the weight around the middle, came on gradually after menopause, about 2 pounds a year and now it is uncomfortable. I eat oatmeal and fruit for breakfast, and big salad for lunch, but I have been doing the reverse amounts with the starch and fruit or vegetables. That is I would have 1/4- 1/3 cup of oats and 1 cup of blueberries, instead of 1 cup oats and 1/4 cup blueberries. Lunch salads are huge amounts of greens and non-starchy vegetables and small amount of starch. This past week I swapped to 1 cup oats and 1/4 of blueberries (and I added shredded carrots), what a difference! I did not snack the entire day or evening! I think I was so concerned about eating fruit and vegetables I forgot about the importance of the starch and how satiating it is. The videos on "What I eat in a day and meal prep in the series were very helpful!! Thank you!!!

Such a great video with your Mum, for me - as you know Emmie, it's so relatable. I was slim my whole life too and then WHAM - menopausal belly explosion!! And you just aren't you anymore. I also had high cholesterol. I'm just starting week 3 of your program, so we have yet to see where my cholesterol ends up, but you know I'll keep you posted. It's working for me so far and I'm loving it.

I noticed that when I am eating as I usually do- slim on starch, when there is a special occasion, and I have cake, I get very sleepy after I eat concentrated sugar. It has a drug like effect on me- so I eat a small piece of cake, but I make sure I return to my normal slim on starch meals. When you focus on fueling and nourishing your body, you will feel the difference!

Was just shopping at the grocery store and was in line behind a woman (missing both of her legs) telling the cashier she was on a NO starch diet and proudly holding up her keto bread. I felt so bad for her in so many ways as I was joyfully holding two flats of fresh cherries. I wanted to say something to her but didn't know what to do. I came home and cried for her.

I am 10 years younger than her and I'm just starting to experience menopause symptoms. @laurarauhauser2350 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

@@oceanmermaid3700, I have always had the same problem. I knew what to do. I just wouldn't do it for long.
I heard once to make this an experiment and "see what would happen if you did this for ___ days/weeks/months?"
Amazingly, it worked!! I decided to do a 4 month experiment (120 days) of only WFPB, no meat, dairy, and SOS free. I used the Starch Solution.
I knew I could change back after 4 months if I wanted to.
I lost 45 lbs. and I am 56 years old. I didn't exercise during that time either, but now I have so much energy I actually like getting out and doing things!
It really does work if you commit and are consistent. But really the experiment aspect of it gave me the excitement to keep it up! I really wanted to see what could happen and how fast it could happen if I went all in for an entire 120 days...🥰
      You can do this!

I am a health care provider as well...I look at people so chronically sick, and I just think, 'it doesn't have to be this way, you don't have to age infirmed and ill...." but it is tricky. You would be surprised that massively obese and sick people just don't want to change their way of eating. Food addiction is so hard to break.

nice that your mom could lose a few pounds post menopausal. However, she was not obese to start with. Obesity is also genetic and runs in my family. I've been obese all my life, dieted to lose down and regain over and over again. After menopause, the plant based diet helped me lose about 30-40 pounds, but then the weight loss stopped. No matter what I do or eat, it's not going anywhere. I've just had to learn that I'll never be skinny, no matter what I do. :)

How much are your services? I desperately need your help! Type 2 diabetic, hypothyroidism, post menopausal and total hysterectomy without hormone replacement super High triglycerides (590) high cholesterol 258….I have gone through the entire 3 month process of multiple doctor appts and have a bariatric weight loss surgery date in 2 months but I don’t want to go through with it. I am desperate for help.
