    Great videos. I won the coffee machine. I purchased 4 boxes of pods. Then I was thinking 🤔 must be alternative way to make them. And here I am in 2024. ☕️☕️☕️☕️😀

    Hack Tip....
    I stretch out about 23 inches of foil, then lay the press and seal over the top.
    Then the sheet in half, 4 times and you end up with 8 layers thick.
    I found that a Rustolem spray paint can lid makes the perfect circle as a template.
    Press the paint can top - to emboss the circle - like your making biscuits.
    Blamo... cut the 4 circles out and ya have 32 covers at one go...
    I'll make one note here... your when you cut the circles, the foil surfaces can fuse the edge making some of them difficult to separate.
    place the disc on a hard surface and rub the scissor handle along the edge... it will flatten and allow you to separate the foils.

    I am so glad to have found this. what a genius way of keeping the bar code clear. Lately however some of my brewed coffee liquid ends up in the capsule dispenser. What am I doing wrong?

    Rob, I really appreciate your videos.. I have followed your steps to make the refillable pods.... they have worked very well, but the other day when I went to eject the used pod after brewing my cup, the pod stayed in the pod holder and did not rise up out of it to be ejected. I had to carefully pry it out with the tip of a knife..why is this happening and should I be concerned that it may damage my machine? I tried it again, and it happened a second time.....

      Semajrn, I'm glad you liked the videos. I have had that happen too (even with Nespresso pods) and have found that it happens mostly if I don't eject the pod shortly after brewing. I'm guessing it is just because I need to clean my machine from residue but the easy answer is simply eject the pod when it is still warm just after brewing. That is what I do now.

      Thanks Rob, I have been doing that and have not had the problem since. I know it wasn't due to the machine needing cleaning since my machine was just one week old at the time. I love your information about making your own pods, and most likely would not have purchased this machine without your method, since I really do not wish to spend over $1 for one cup of coffee made at home. So thank you so much... I really appreciate your feedback to my problem. I look forward to more of your tutorials/videos.

      Rob, I have been ejecting right after brewing, and it has not occurred again. I know it had nothing to do with needing cleaning since my machine was only less that one week old at the time. I really appreciate your videos and would not have purchased this machine had it not been for your "myo pods" hack, since I do not wish to spend $1 for each cup of coffee made at home. So, thank you so much for your tutorials and feedback. I look forward to more from you and have subscribed to your channel.

    What is the coffee weight in the espresso size pod?

    • @FreewayPhotographer
      @FreewayPhotographer ปีที่แล้ว

      "Each capsule contains 6-7 grams of ground coffee and makes one serving of coffee. Depending on the length of the pour, the capsule can produce a 40 ml Espresso shot, or a 110 ml Lungo pour." (Per Nespresso)

    Seems inconsistent with my machine and the crema isn't the same. Still trying to figure out why. The ground is correct, the weight is correct, the barcode is the right one, etc.etc. I think perhaps the way they pressurize the capsule has something to do with it.

    Why do you need an inner pod

    • @itsmenotyou652
      @itsmenotyou652 ปีที่แล้ว

      Because you need the barcode. The inner pod gets covered, while the outer pod has the bar code. Pretty genius stuff

    How about those steel Pods they sell on Amazon ?

    • @coffeeresearchlab5000
      @coffeeresearchlab5000  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm not aware of pods (other than the Nespresso brand ones) on Amazon. If you buy them on Amazon just make sure they are for the Vertuo model instead of the Original model. If so then they should be good.

    The bar code won't let you reuse the pods

      I thought all it would do was lock you into that particular brew code, but STILL brew?

    Why buy a Nespresso machine and then use regular market coffees? Just buy a Keurig or regular coffee maker. Makes no sense.

    • @TheBlackWatchRHR
      @TheBlackWatchRHR 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I find the Keurig burns through way more water during brewing
