      Wife got hers at the dealership and they told me they just subcontract it out. So most dealerships aren't doing it in house, just ask who they do it through and then make another phone call to that shop and ask what product they use on dealer cars.

I have been using Mckee’s rinse less wash and Armor coat lite from Avalon King as a drying aid since I washmy car once a week. I also use this product as a maintenance polish once a month. Whomever installed it did a poor job. They should have wrapped it around the edges going under the hood and out of site.
      You can try cotton swabs and alcohol
      Just keep in mind that you want it sitting in the sun to get it to bond back to hood after you have cleaned…
      Once those edges get damaged they’ll start collecting crap constantly

    Great videos as always btw 👍 Quick question? I have a vehicle that has a complete PPF all the car has been protected and it has been installed for about 3 years. It’s in great shape and I maintain it well. The vehicle has extremely low mileage and is kept in a garage quite a lot of the time.
    Do you have to replace the PPF at some point as I have noticed some people say as the PPF ages it’s more difficult to remove it ? Is this correct. I am concerned about how long the PPF will last before it needs to be replaced for easy enough removal before it becomes too difficult to replace?
    Any advice of information would be really appreciated
    Thanks

      @@07wrxtr1 correct, CLR has a pH of 2, which means it is 100x more acidic than Xpel Water Spot remover (which has a pH of 4). Thus CLR will strip most ceramic coatings, which can typically tolerate a pH as low as 3.

      You can start with a water spot remover first. You have to neutralize the minerals before attempting to polish.
      If the water spots aren’t too old or haven’t started etching through the PPF, it’s possible the water spot remover on its own will solve your issues.
      Here’s a very good water spot remover: bit.ly/3UO1UX4

    Pan, Big Fan of the channel down in Knoxville TN!! I recently purchased a 2018 AMG c43 coupe. The vehicle has a clear bra on the front of the hood (only on the hood) installed by the previous owner. I'm unsure of the age of the PPF/ClearBra. are there some tell tale signs of age that I can look for to determine if it needs to be removed now or later. (vehicle is very well cared for and appears to also have a ceramic coat, at least from the beading I've experience when washing) Thanks for any advise!

MOHS EVO HERE I COME! or Can coat .... still need to buy the stuff to wipe off then polish...Challengers being so large I'd rather spend the extra for 100ML for 2 coats, then do my wheels in one shot in some cases.

    Hi Pan, Great video as usual. Just wondering is there any difference between Restart wash and PPF Wash from Gyeon? Sames as PPF Maintain and the almighty Wet Coat? Is the main difference is the product mainly develop for PPF due to the difference from PPF and Paint because how the product will "stick" to the surface?

      You would have to ask your PPF installer if he feels ok with applying a PPF on top of your coating. Normally, it's the PPF first, and then a coating on top of the PPF.
      Most PPF coatings (like Gyeon PPF, CarPro Skin and Gtechniq Halo) can be applied on glossy or matte PPF. No problem.

    Just wanted to comment on the ppf maintain longevity. I live in FL, garage kept, air conditioned, white vehicle, Xpel ppf. Without any sort of decon I get around 1-2 weeks. Maybe it'll get rained on 1-3 times, I don't bring it to work so it'll sit outside a shop or something, not all day otherwise it's in the garage, it does shed dirt and debris somewhat but nothing spectacular or to write home about. For a reference I put about 5k miles on the vehicle in one year so I don't drive too often. Full decon(strip wash, ppf wash, ironx with a synthetic clay bar, panel prep) I get 2-3 weeks out of it.
    VERY disappointing to be honest. I'll use the rest of the bottle but it would have been nice for the price to get something with a little more longevity. I won't be purchasing it again. That being said it really does make the car POP, especially for a white car. Some serious shiny candy look going on and very reflective.
    Hopefully you see this pan and the manufacturer.

    • @PanTheOrganizer
      @PanTheOrganizer  ปีที่แล้ว

      If you want maximum durability, apply a PPF coating. There’s a limit you what sprays can do on PPF. Gyeon themselves only claim 6 weeks durability with this. And usually in the real world, you rarely reach full manufacturer’s claims, for many variables often discussed in my videos.
      A PPF specific coating should get you 1-2 years of protection. Then use the spray for maintenance. Same principles as for paint products.

      PPF won't stop stone chips from happening. What it does is it prevents the paintwork underneath from getting the stone chips! So the PPF will still get stone chips and scratches, but it will do its job protecting the paint. Hopefully the PPF shop explained this to you??
      Case in point, on my own Porsche 911 Turbo S, the rear arches are super wide, and are covered from factory with PPF. After 2 years of driving, the PPF got hammered by stone impacts. In theory, yes you can clay PPF. However, you should be very careful as traditional clay bars are abrasive. Perhaps use a synthetic clay towel, that won't cause marring, something like this: amzn.to/3JHfrtG
      And make sure you use a clay lubricant. For polishing, you'd use the same speeds as for paint. You start low to spread (speed 2) and polish using higher speeds (5 or 6) depending on what machine you have.
      Always do some testing on an inconspicuous area first. Or hire a professional detailer if you're unsure of what you're doing.

      The only way to ensure 100% removal of a previous coating is by machine polishing. So a light polish and polishing pad should do the trick. You'll know you succeeded with the removal when the water won't bead anymore, and will simply be a flat pool of slow sheeting water.

    So, no clay bar on ppf, even if gently aplyed in case of ink bubles?

    if I go with a ceramic coat for my ppf, then for the aftercare should I follow the aftercare routine & products for ppf or ceramic coatings?

      Yeah the Gyeon PPF stuff is hard to source within the USA, but you can still order from Canada in the links provided. Your exchange rate is so much more powerful than CAD dollars that it will cost peanuts for you to order.

    Do you need also to clean clay ceramic coating the area before ppf? To. Have better outcome??

    • @PanTheOrganizer
      @PanTheOrganizer  ปีที่แล้ว

      I don’t understand your question. The car is washed, decontaminated, polished, and then the PPF is applied. The ceramic coating is only applied at the end, on top of the PPF.

    Pan, Rick here. On a previous video for 20 uses for a rinseless wash, you mentioned putting some in your wash bucket to prevent water spots for those of us with hard water issues. Can you mix the the rinseless washes in your video with our choice of foam canon wash shampoo, Mr Pink, Adams, Car Pro Reset, etc to prevent water spots? Thanks.

    • @PanTheOrganizer
      @PanTheOrganizer  ปีที่แล้ว

      Not sure about the use in a foam cannon. You’d have to ask one of the brands that makes a rinseless wash.

    • @TheBreakfastLover
      @TheBreakfastLover ปีที่แล้ว +1

      In general you shouldn't mix rinseless washes (which are higher in emulsifiers) with shampoo (which are higher in surfactants). If you do, the mixture will coagulate/clump and you lose the cleaning properties of both. The exception is DIY Detail Rinseless Wash, where Yvan somehow figured out how to make an effective Rinseless with high Surfactants, which is why it also foams in a foam cannon.

    Is PPF Maintain Shampoo just a marketing product ?
    Any other options than Gyeon that contains iron removing technology
    Will it work the same if im using a normal shampoo like CarPro eraser + Iron remover on my maintenance washes?

    • @PanTheOrganizer
      @PanTheOrganizer  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Gyeon is a serious top tier brand. They don’t do marketing gimmicks.
      They have their Restart shampoo that also has light iron removing capabilities. But they only mention its use on “coated surfaces”, so you’d have to ask them if it can work on PPF.
      But if your vehicle is wrapped in PPF I would just get the PPF shampoo.
      Or keep it simple and get a pure shampoo like Gyeon Bathe. And use an iron remover once every 3-4 months or as needed depending on your level of iron contamination.

    If I put a ceramic coat on PPF is the PPF maintain/wash needed? Or would I just use the bathe?

    • @PanTheOrganizer
      @PanTheOrganizer  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You would use Bathe. You would treat the vehicle as a ceramic coated vehicle at that point, not PPF. Since the coating sits on top of the PPF.

    • @PanTheOrganizer

      PPF products are only designed for PPF. Most paint coatings can also be applied on PPF.
