My progress with my new DJI FPV Remote Controller 3 and still learning - just need to know how use the sticks - long sticks? short sticks? thumbs or fingers? enjoy the video
Starting to get the hang of the sticks. Very good with the motion controller. I see you were using the Mic mini and it seems to be working fine 😃 🐾🐈⬛🐝👏👏👏🍻
Shaun, you're in N mode in the video, and the controller still functions the same as any of the DJI RC controllers, you've just removed the auto center from the left stick so you can get used to having it start from the bottom, rather than auto hover being the center point. Once you switch to manual mode, I suggest you do it high up in the air, the left stick is then throttle and yaw, and the right stick is pitch and roll. In manual, the right stick will no longer auto return the drone to level, so any pitch or roll you introduce will remain that way until you counter it. Having done just the opposite, lol...I'd suggest you do your first manual flight on a calm day, as introducing the element of wind is going to make the drone drift, and difficult to process the connection between what you are doing with the sticks and the drones behavior :) Flying the Avata 2 in Manual mode is definitely a work in progress for me...getting better though..
a good sim for Mac's is velocidrone , thats what ive been using and its good for learning manual mode. you dont need to reduce the spring in N or S mode as thats not manual/ Acro mode just fly it as you would your mini 4 pro. you can also try manual mode with the attitude switch left on and that will stop you from flipping the drone over.
Shaun, ya tengo el avata2, y pienso como tú, el mando FPV3 es algo complicado comparado con el joystick, pero el joystick no vuela en modo manual, saludos👍👍
use the control how you feel comfy there is no specific way thumbs or pinching up to you , i used to fly model heli's many moons ago and always used thumbs and thats how i fly drones its personal prefrence there is no right or wrong. have you tried easy acro mode with the motion controller ? turn it on and have a go you will really enjoy it (only works in N mode) good luck
Tbh if you fly the RC not in manual. you can get better shots with the Motion controler!! Becasue you have the pitch on the motion controller. and not on the RC in normal mode! Basacly, if you fly the avata 2 with the RC in normal mode. you just fly like a dji drone mini, or air series. If you want the nice flow with the ups and downs. you need to use the Motion controller. If you want the best shots with speed and full control you use the RC in Manual mode.
What these FPV boys who fly buildings and towers etc don’t show you is how many models they crash and repair Sean Do every thing slow that way you can speed up and do it quicker - it also helps you save up more money to repair the model when it’s in bits

You don’t need to loosen the left stick if you dont do manual mode. Manual mode is just for acrobatics.
