  • Welcome to Virtual Home Movie Day 2012!
Seeing the sights of Havana by car -- either your own roadster, carried on the steamship that brought you to Cuba, or an auto provided by your cruise line -- was de rigeur for tourists of the 1920s and 1930s.
This black-and-white home movie footage, shot in 1929 or 1930, captures some notable stops on the tour, including Havana Cathedral, Morro Castle, and the U.S.S. Maine Monument, concluding with a sweeping vista of the city.

An island so rich and bountiful, its cries for justice robbed through a lying revolution and its aspiring dictators... I pray that Cuba's serenity can one day come back, along with justice.
