As long as there is a good layer leftover I don't worry too much about replacing it on the outside of the metal shield. Underneath would be a different story but always make sure that you have good coverage everywhere.
Friend, my switch thinks I'm disconnecting my joy cons any time they wiggle even slightly,, I have upgraded to metal.buckles and have replaced side rail on switch body... only my right side Has issues ,, it doesn't matter which remote... chance I did a bad install on the right hand side rail?
I just installed the slide rail and made sure everything was connected securely but now my switch is draining the battery super quick. Does it need to be calibrated all over again? I unplugged the battery cable as you did in the video and as far as I know, it’s pretty snug on there.
It could be because you separated the parts that are held together by the thermal paste and now it's trying harder than usual to cool down and it's making your battery drain faster
Thanks bud. Save me a lots of money and made my son very happy.
Great to hear!
thank you for showing each side of the switch because most don’t
Fantastic video. Pretty sure this is the problem with mine.

hi mate, for me it's the conncetor on the motherboard that is broken. Do you know where i can find one ?
Search for MB A41B. Those should be compatible although they are slightly different in appearance.
Thank you so much
You're most welcome
I noticed you didnt replace the thermal paste. Ifixit recomends to. Do you know how necessary that is?
