th-cam.com/video/idnzRYCh4Bs/w-d-xo.html this playlist is a series of 5-6 minute videos about the design & build of Tottenham's (Spurs) new stadium. Spurs will be in the Champions League next season and this is currently considered to be the most technologically advanced football stadium in the world with a tonne of cool features including a retractable pitch, huge single tier stand, a built-in brewery and also has a tie to the US because it hosts some of the NFL London games so would be a great one to react to.
AC Milan and Inter Milan share stadium, the thing is that Milan calls the Stadium "San Siro" and Inter "Giuseppe Meazza". btw Today Milan won the Serie A after 11yrs .
Inter and AC Milan are playing in the same stadium, they're just usually using different names. And he said that both clubs from Ukraine were using the stadium in Kyiv because the area around Donetsk wasn't/isn't safe.
That stand in the Borussia Dortmund stadium is a standing terrace for league games as Germany allow standing areas. It is converted to seating for the champions league.
A lot of football stadiums had much bigger capacities in the past but in the old days most people stood at the games ...... once they put seats in they could hold fewer people !
@@TheHesK9 the reason they took out the standing areas were for safety, they’re not really directly linked but if fans are acting like this, it’s probably not a great idea
The issue with building a new stadium on the site of the existing stadium is that the team usually has to find a temporary ground to play their home matches.
@@WithmeVerissimusWhostoned The issue is match day revenue. Many bigger clubs don’t have a comparable sized stadium in their home city. That isn’t the case with Real Madrid though, as their cross town rivals boast a big stadium too.
I'm from Leipzig. :) Our football stadium was indeed built on top of the old Central Stadium. The latter was built after WW2 using parts of the rubble from the buildings destroyed in the allied bombing raids. It was at the time the biggest stadium in Germany (with space for 100,000 people) and was the pride of the East German communist government.
Good Reaction. I love The German's attitude and ingenuity. Most Football fans want to stand but The Champions League insists on wretched All Seater Stadiums so they have the 28,000 Home End Yellow Wall,All Standing but put the seats, temporarily,in for Champions League matches. The Germans always find a way in my 68 year old experience.
The more modern stadiums are very technological, and the Lille stadium can lift half of the field and move it ontop of the other half of the field. Transforming it into a clay Tennis Court without damaging the grass field, and allows for more seating. Other stadiums can move the entire grass field down in a basement and then roll out a new floor over it, so you can have concerts and other events without damaging the grass. Almost every enclosed stadium today also has heating underneath the grass so it will never have snow or otherwise be damaged by weather
@SoGal what you need to remind yourself of is that many of these stadiums were built for a major event like a Euro or a World Cup. For example the stadium in Milan (you know, with all the concrete and the towers) didn’t have a roof and towers until the World Cup 1990 in Italy. They redesigned and extended the stadium back then for the World Cup. Same with for example the stadium in Munich, the Allianz Arena. It was constructed for the World Cup in Germany 2006. And many older stadiums in Europe share a similar history, they were either built for a major tournament or redesigned or extended for a major tournament. Though extension doesn’t always mean more capacity, if you turn actual stands without seats into seated stands you’ll lower your capacity.
@@powertothebauer296 The stadium was built to be finished for the World Cup with a buffer year before that. Of course Bayern had long wished to construct a new stadium but the city council only wanted to modify the Olympiastadion. But when Germany launched their official World Cup 2006 bid in 1997 and 1998 it was pretty clear that Munich would either need a modified Olympiastadion or a new football stadium. You misunderstood me there, the stadium was not built for the sole cause of the World Cup, but it was clearly built with the approaching World Cup in mind. Oh and by the way they needed 1860 because only then could they receive EU funds for the stadium project, just as long as two teams shared the stadium with each other.
Hi, Sarah, there are so many different looking stadia or stadiums. It was interesting to compare them. Of course fans of any particular team will always think their team's one is best.
Dinamo Kyiv and Shakhtar Donetsk are, in fact, sharing a stadium located in Kiev, since Donetsk has been a war zone for years. The San Siro/Giuseppe Meazza thing has been explained by many comments already. You have good taste in stadiums.
anfield looks a bit strange because it was built in 1884 and hasn’t moved since if it were to be rebuilt bigger they would have to knock down houses so they just do a stand at a time and just built on top
San Siro and Giuseppe Meazza are the very same stadium. The first name refers to it when AC Milan plays there whereas the latter refers to Inter Milan. This is pretty common in Italy since Juventus and Torino used to do the same, Lazio and Roma as well, Genova and Sampdoria, etc etc.
The main difference is that most football stadiums in Europe are/ or were located in build up areas. Hence why some like Liverpools stadium isn't symmetrical as there's a road and houses behind 2 sides. Many European clubs have had to decide to stay in their 100 plus year old stadium or move further out and have land to build a new modern bigger stadium.
It's not so much because of the houses as much as it is that different sections were developed at different times, it's a fairly common feature in the UK and elsewhere - modern from-scratch purpose built stadiums (like say the new Spurs stadium) aren't conceived or constructed in that way, there's not a whole lot stopping Liverpool buying enough land on all four sides to make it symmetrical that's just not how it's going to be done, unlikely it will be even when it gets to all four sides have been redeveloped (which will inevitably involve buying enough land to do that). The positive side of that is you can do it that way and slowly change the stadium without anybody noticing it isn't what it used to be.
Giuseppe Meazza and San Siro both refer to the same stadium. AC Milan and Inter Milan are both tenants. The shared tenancy helps both clubs reduce cost. When either team is at home, the other one is playing away. This way, the both can't use the stadium at the same time.
a few things you missed or got confused over: A.C Milan play their football at the San Siro Inter Milan play their football at the Giuseppe Meazza the stadium is the exact same stadium with 2 different names and named differently based on which club is present (except on derby day when i don't think it matters). the stadium shown for both Shakhtar Donetsk and Dynamo Kiev is the exact same stadium as until the point that it was deemed unsafe for all involved, Shakhtar were sharing a stadium with Dynamo so he just showed different perspectives for the same place for each entry. regarding the Dynamo Kiev stadium and the running track, while it is not the only football stadium in Europe with a running track surrounding the pitch, it is/was the only football stadium in the Champions League to feature such a layout. in terms of the Lille stadium, the pitch is split into 2 halves, literally, and the half that moves is on a huge 'sheet' which is moved using many hydraulic legs, if you want to see something similar then i would suggest watching the documentary about the new tottenham hotspur stadium, which has a similar sort of feature, just more expansive. the capacity figures shown for some of these stadia in brackets means the maximum capacity they are allowed for Champions league games, which is different to their maximum capacity for domestic league games, for safety reasons. the reason Real Madrid couldn't play in their stadium while it was being renovated is because of safety reasons, you asked a question 'why couldn't they play in their stadium while this was being built', the actual stadium was being worked on and improved, they weren't building a new one with the new design, they were renovating the old stadium to the new design, so while most of the foundational work was being done they had to move out of the Santiago Bernabeu until it was deemed safe to house a reduced capacity crown, that's why when you watched them playing during the champions league matches the entire first segment of seating was covered over with a blue tarp and was cordoned off an unavailable for people to sit in.
what only stadium several stadiums featuring tracks have already been in the champions league stadio olimpico, san paolo (now called diego maradona stadium), stade louis II or even olympiastadion (2015 final)
@@snooty9349 re-read what I said, take a few minutes to process then try again, I'm perfectly aware that there are many stadia that have a running track as part of the design, however this season (2021-2022), the only one to feature in the champions league was the one shared between Dynamo Kiev and Shakhtar Donetsk.
The interesting part of this is that in Europe capacity has dropped entering the new Century and like in America there are large interesting stadiums outside of football (soccer). Six Nations Rugby Stadiums are very interesting and many are way older than the football stadiums Principality Stadium in Cardiff 76,000 with a roof built beside the old Cardiff Arms Park with the tower housing blocks and the greyhound track and mud pit surrounded, Twickenham Stadium London, England built on the old stadium 82,000 modern old stadium was built from wood, Aviva Stadium, Dublin, Ireland 52,000 same capacity as the old Lansdowne Road, from 1870s rebuild and known to some as the bedpan, the design is interesting but its not the biggest stadium in Dublin, Croke Park is 82,750 fourth largest capacity stadium in Europe, gaelic football and hurling is played there it has been used for soccer and rugby while the Aviva was being rebuilt, Murrayfield, Edinburgh home of Scottish Rugby another 1870s stadium, stíll holds the capacity crowd for a rugby game 106,000 Scotland vs Wales in 1975 now holds 67,000, but Hampden Park Scotland soccer home now holds 48,000 capacity on two occasions once in the 1930s a Scottish Cup Final held 136,000 and again in the early 1960s a European Cup Final held the same number, France plays its 6 Nations games at Stade de France 82,000 and do the soccer there are interesting designs with a star wars stadium of Racing 92 with the loud pink and aqua marine colour and the massive jumbotron at one end, Italy played their games in Stadio Olympico 70.000 never full home of Roma and Lazio, but there are other sports venues outside of soccer and rugby. I say venues, Monte Carlo, Monza, Hockenheim, Brands Hatch all F1 motor racing, Isle of Man TT motorbike racing maybe the most dangerous sporting venue you will ever see, Longchomp Paris, Aintree, Liverpool, Epsom Downs, Royal Ascot, The Curragh of Kildare, Fairyhouse, Ballybrit, Galway, and Laytown Co Meath in Ireland all horse racing venues, Laytown is subject to the tide its a beach first horse race 1868,Epsom Downs 1760 and The Curragh 1766, just a little sample, on the rugby too You have massive stadiums South Africa, Australia, New Zealand all, Indian Cricket Stadiums, and of course the historic Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) used for cricket and Aussie Rules... Lots of homework there..
Indeed...the away end at Prenton park is called the cow shed... because ,yes ,in the dim and distant past the stand ( if it could be called that..??) was actually an old cow shed, from a farm on the wirral..
There’s a video out there about the closest stadiums in the UK that might be of interest - here Notts County and Nottingham Forest are separated but the River Trent and that’s about it
Hey ! I'm from Lille ! So the SPM (Stade Pierre Mauroy) can just like he said, lift a half. It's like plate. The half of the grass goes up, and then, it slide slowly into the other side. So the other side where there is no grass anymore can be use for other think like Tennis, Baskteball, MotorCross race or even live show ! It's quite amazing tho !
Loved that you did this. Yep AC and inter groundshare as did Kiev and donetsk. I hope you get to do the English leagues, as you get into league one you can really see the difference between sides that once had Premier league money and those that have never had it and one the narrator describes as a mini, mini, mini Anfield
The "Yellow Wall" in Dortmund is the largest standing terrace in Europe. It holds almost 25,000 fans during a league match, but as the video notes, is converted to seating for Champions' League, as UEFA mandates seating. Former Bayern Munich player Bastian Schweinsteiger supposedly once said, asked whether he fears the players more or the manager, "It's the Yellow Wall I fear the most". Given how steep the stadium is and how many fans are packed onto that southern terrace, having to attack against such a background can be intimidating. Or as I like to say, the fans keep the ball out of their goal by sheer sound pressure... As the colors of the club are yellow and black, and official jerseys are usually dominated by yellow, the "wall" has its name from the yellow jerseys, scarfs etc. worn by the fans. Pre-game, the "wall" is also often the stage for extensive choreographies such as this one: th-cam.com/video/QwLfNsVQ93w/w-d-xo.html developed, organized and supplied by the fans themselves.
The Roobenstein Tottenham Hotspur tour video is the best and it really is mind blowing. They also have a retractable pitch that changes in to an NFL pitch where two matches will be played there every year. Also Richard Hammond has a video of how it works. Trust the Spurs ground tour will blow your mind. ❤️💪🙏🏻
AC Milan and Inter Milan play at te same stadium, The San Siro is the home ground for both teams. This is common in Italy, lots of stadiums are shared between clubs.
wierdly a lot of famous stadiums in europe don't actually qualify for champions league hosting. This is mainly because of the differance between national and champions rules regarding pitch sized. For example Antfield, LFC's home stadium, is 5 meters too short to be considered. But they can't expand properly because its in a residential area, and also you'd have to rebuild like.. a ton of the stadium. Which a lo of Liverpool fans wouldn't be happy with.
Don’t know if anyone else has mentioned this, but the reason Moldova have a club called Sheriff, is that they are owned by a huge Moldovan company called Sheriff. Apparently they run a lot of businesses in the country (banks in particular)
Anfield was limited for design as it is in a residential area which has kept its size smaller but they might be building a new stadium near by in a Park.
26:00 due to some stadiums being very old, parts of the old stadium is just renovated to fit in more people, that's why some of them look disproportionate in shape.
One stadium you should check out that was not featured in the video is the Stade Velodrome. One of the most unique looking stadiums in Europe as well being the home of one of the wildest fanbases in France. p.s. You should do a reaction to Johan Cruyff. As a player and as a coach; his impact on football is massive!
That is a stupid take honestly. Zentralstadion was absolutely massive, it held over 100k fans after all. After the fall of Berlin wall and German reunification many east german clubs faced severe financial issues, because of completely different economic structure of the west german league. Thus many clubs (including Leipzig) relegated into lower tiers of german football. Leipzig football club even ceased operations because of bankruptcy. Red Bull Leipzig is a totally new club and a possibility of them being able to fill and upkeep a stadium that holds 100k just wasn’t there. The stadium also had a very dated design with a single tier bowl and a running track around the field, which resulted in the fact that most fans were really far away from the pitch, which made for a bad fan experience. Also if we wanna talk about boring design we should bring up the fact that Zentralstadion looked like any other bigger stadium in Eastern block. While the new stadium is generic, it does provide good fan experience.
Borrussia Dortmund wear Black and Yellow (#Schwartzgelb). At home matches the Dortmund fans wear mainly yellow. The Yellow Wall is where the committed Dortmund fans stand. It's similar to the "Red Wall" when Wales play in Cardiff.
In the aerial pictures of Santiago Bernabeu (Real Madrid) you can see my old school, it's practically next door. They don't have an "old stadium" where they can play, they're just renovating the old one.
You also have to consider the year those stadiums were built, the year of construction was mentioned next to the name. But I'm guessing you didn't notice it. Like Anfield was constructed in 1884 the one you called an office building, may be in 1884 that was a modern design.
The thing with the team names on the seats is because these teams are deeply rooted in the local community and no one else will ever play there. In contrast, only 4 NFL teams own their own stadium ( Miami,New England,Washington and Carolina). As to the small size, I've been in a 28000 seater where the noise level would be an industrial safety hazard.
The best stadium (or best away end at least) in the world, though many will disagree with me, is Luton Town. You literally have to go through terraced housing to get into it. Look at the photos online!
29:12 As I've seen with the US ones the club/team name is on the end field so doing it on the seats would only be for a field view and for a stand view. Stadium build finance is also very different between Soccer and American Football (read somewhere that the US city pays for the build and the team cashes on the tickets, Can be wrong).
The stadium information has the date the club has played there for. For example Manchester United have played at Old Trafford for 112 years. Liverpool has played at Anfield for 138 years.
Liverpool were formed because Everton, who were first form had a dispute with the owner, so moved to Goodison and the owner created a new club. The stadium for the final usually from 65,000 seats.
You should have looked at the dates of opening of the stadiums. For example Anfield (Liverpool) and San Siro (AC Milan, Inter) are from before WW2. It looks not modern maybe (I noticed you like modern looking stadiums) but it has a lot of history and memories which are sometimes more important than modern looking stadiums with more capacity.
The San Siro and The Stadio Giuseppe Miazza is the the same stadium but just with a different name. There are two clubs in Milan, AC Milan and Inter Milan who both share the stadium. They are fierce rivals and the atmosphere is febrile when they play each other.
I got one for you. The final Copa Libertadores cup played in Spain . With River Plate vs Boca Jr in 2018. The whole world watch that game. Also the final of Copa America with Argentina vs Brazil played in Brazil . And yes , my team is River Plate .
The Guy in the video could have been more on point, but as most people already said: AC Milan and Inter Milan share a Stadium. Which, btw, made it really funny when you went "I can notice SOME differences". And i just thought: Yeah? Show me! :P
Btw, this IS Real Madrid "Old" Stadium. They're just modernizing, not building a new one. Actually, in football, there is a strong bond between fans and their stadiums, so its not uncommon, but "weird" for them to just build new ones.
Hello SoGal and Roger. A good variety of stadia. The Istanbul one reminded me of a previous comment I made, asking you to check out the events in the Roman one in Constantinople, if you found a video. Years back I moved near Old Trafford. Some locals asked if I came from Bradford on the other side of Manchester, not the city over the Pennines. Funny how Man. City, dramatic PL winners today, moved to their Bradford. It seemed unthinkable back then they could leave Maine Road as it was like the heart and body of the club, that connected it with the city and the locals. United drew their support in Trafford and Salford, but also from far and wide, so their stadium kept getting upgraded to cope. There is news coverage of new stadium proposals. I had only been myself to attend a Rugby League final. This year 28 May (28/05/22) there is the Challenge Cup final at the new Tottenham stadium, which you might find of interest? Also Spurs have confirmed CL qualification place today by beating North London rivals Arsenal to fourth in PL.
I went on the stadium tour of the Nou Camp in 2003 while on holiday in Barcelona. I have been to two matches at Old Trafford Manchester United’s ground also I have being on the stadium tour twice. I use to watch live Italian football in the 90s on tv. The San Siro was used for The World Cup Italia 90.
27:25 Most Champions of Sweden. Our home support is electrifying with megasize flags, big tifo displays for the big games and flares, and we're singing nonstop for 2 hours. It's an experience to sit on section 10 close to the Northern Stand and our main Ultra groups Supras Malmö 03, Rex Scania and Brigada. Unfortunately a group of Balkan teens that call themself Blatteultras have taken upon themself to be our hooligan firm, causing shame with their actions.
Indeed, a Tranmere Rovers fan penned a Book..Away days that got made into a film glorifying hooligans ,needless to say it got panned...love Sweden, had a memorable holiday in Buhuslan..
Both Milan clubs share the same stadium, as do Dynamo Kyiv and shakhtar donetsk due to the ongoing war since 2014 in the Donbas, Donetsk can't play at their home ground, so they now ground share in Kyiv
BVB (Borussia Dortmund) is the second biggest club in Germany. It Holds up to 80,000 spectators. The yellow wall is located in the Süd Tribune (South Tribune) that place, is the standing area. It is AMAZING to see the yellow wall. By the way, the shot of the Stadium, from that angle was horrible! I love my team HEJA BVB!
SoGal you have the Spurs football shirt and they are in the champions League next season. They have a new stadium and it's magnificent. There is a video tour of it on the internet. Very modern. Well worth checking out. Great stuff girl. ❤️💪😈
The Red Bull stadium is cool but because it's named after a sponsor and the fact the atmosphere isn't that great knocks it down the list of stadiums I've visited
My favorite stadium insn't on the list because it doesn't belong to a club, it is the Stade de France in St Denis, North of Paris, built for the 98 World Cup, it holds 85 000 people in Football configuration and 80 000 in Athletic configuration (the lower stands can roll back to free the space for the Athletism track) and 135 000 the concert configuration with the middle occupied by the spectators and the scene on one side. It is very elegant with the completed suspended roof independant from the station structure itself. It was deemed to be completely transparent but wind tunnel trials made it clear that it would be lifted up by wind so they had to poor concrete into it, at least for the outbound side of it to make it more stable. It is in my opinion one of the most beautiful stadiums there is (others I can't name by heart) are at the same level and none ot them are on this list most of them being Olympic stadiums...)
the crazies thing is that u can see "differences" between the ac and inter milan stadiums, because ITS THE SAME stadium xD so seeing "clear differences" is something strange xD
AC and Inter play at the same stadium ...just they call it something different depending on who is at home that week .....thats why those two stadiums looked the same ...it was
Hiya So Gal, I'm suprised St James's Park home ground for Newcastle United wasn't featured in this vlog, in the Premier League we've got the best football stadiums in the world, the only 4 that's missing is the Nou Camp (in Barcelona),Santiago Bernabau (in Madrid) the San Siro (In Milan) and Celtic Park (in Glasgow) that's just my opinion, this is Choppy in Whitehaven, Cumbria
Gee i dunno why st james aint on here......i know ..its probably because this is a rundown of UCL stadiums in 21-22 ...and newcastle couldnt qualify for a free aldi coupon back then 🤣
Inter Milan and AC Milan share the same stadium. About Real Madrid...there is not an old stadium to play in while they build the new one...they are reforming the current stadium (just as it is well explained in the video...please listen to the it more carefully xD).
Football stadiums in europe are not as big as american Gridiron football stadiums, for several reasons but the main one i think is promotion and relagation ,crowds decrease when a team is relegated so unless you area a tem like barcelona that never gets relegated there is no point having a huge stadium. The other other limiting factor is space because most of the stadiums are in built up areas where the residents are a bit wearing of being overshadowed by huge stadium.Lastly there a clubs from all over europe so they are many from relatively small countries where there is not the population to fill huge stadiums,Exceptions are Croke Park and Principality stadium, but they are not football stadiums so subject to different dynamics to football.

On games with very large spectator participation, the Athens Olympic Stadium is used for these games and it can seat 69 618 people: th-cam.com/video/bcaGoEDy-Fs/w-d-xo.html The Olympic Stadium is within the Athens 2004 Olympic Athletic Complex, that also has practice fields, swimming pools and an enclosed Basketball stadium with similar architecture to the large stadium. Besides athletic events, the area also hosts music concerts. This is the Olympic Stadium used in the first modern Olympic games in 1896: th-cam.com/video/V620wjD6A2A/w-d-xo.html The Panathenaic stadium as it is called was a rebuilt and expanded ancient stadium, built between two small hills. Unfortunately this makes it unsuitable for modern track and field events due to the shape of it's track, however the Original Marathon (Athens Marathon) finish line is always there. This stadium used to hold the Pan Athenian Games, the largest athletic event in ancient Athens honoring the Goddess Athena that the city was named for and could seat 50 000 people the entire population of Athenian citizens. The rebuilt stadium, for the 1896 Olympics could seat 80 000 people plus another 40 000 standing. It is the only stadium in the world built entirely from marble.
Hi "Sogal". It's been a few weeks since you posted and I guess that you're not feeling too good. There is always a tendency for people to try and come back (to a task) too early. While we truly want to see you back as soon as possible but remember that we (most of us) are European bosses and want you back when you are fit and able wheras if we were American bosses we would want you back last week. See you soon 😎👌
River Plate vs Boca Jr final played in Spain 2018 Copa Libertadores . We won 3-1 . Then there was Copa America and Argentina won again🏆😏. And finally in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar , we won again against France .

th-cam.com/video/PWPCZ1UjYmI/w-d-xo.html
Again, contrary to popular belief, the marbles of the Parthenon were not all left white but they were painted. When a large portion of the sculptures were hacksawed off the monument and eventually taken to the British Archaeological Museum by lord Elgin, the museum curators thought that the remnants of the ancient paint in the marbles was dirt and mold so they "cleaned" them white.
Wembley old and new.
th-cam.com/video/idnzRYCh4Bs/w-d-xo.html this playlist is a series of 5-6 minute videos about the design & build of Tottenham's (Spurs) new stadium.
AC Milan if she didn’t know
Legit I was literally about to say the same thing.
Which Milan?😅
@@MrFlaten92 yes
@@MrFlaten92 if you only say Milan, you normally mean AC Milan
Inter and AC Milan are playing in the same stadium, they're just usually using different names. And he said that both clubs from Ukraine were using the stadium in Kyiv because the area around Donetsk wasn't/isn't safe.
How not safe
She will Still not get it Even if you explain it.
I hear Inter Milan are building a new stadium
That stand in the Borussia Dortmund stadium is a standing terrace for league games as Germany allow standing areas. It is converted to seating for the champions league.
A lot of football stadiums had much bigger capacities in the past but in the old days most people stood at the games ...... once they put seats in they could hold fewer people !
We will have to see how the trial to convert stadiums back to having some standing areas goes. I think about half a dozen are in the trial in England.
So true. Well over 110,000 people used to watch Real Madrid at Santiago Bernabeu.
@@tonys1636 after all the stupid things going on with pitch invasions atm I don’t think it’s a good idea, even though I’d love it back.
@@user-io8cm4dk1f what does that have to do with seating?
@@TheHesK9 the reason they took out the standing areas were for safety, they’re not really directly linked but if fans are acting like this, it’s probably not a great idea
14:51 they’re not building a new stadium, they’re extending and redesigning their current stadium
The issue with building a new stadium on the site of the existing stadium is that the team usually has to find a temporary ground to play their home matches.
how is that an issue tho'... you just talk to some people, make some deals, weather the storm and then continue to sail on \o/
@@WithmeVerissimusWhostoned But this type of temporary nomadic existence is unpopular with fans.
@@WithmeVerissimusWhostoned The issue is match day revenue. Many bigger clubs don’t have a comparable sized stadium in their home city. That isn’t the case with Real Madrid though, as their cross town rivals boast a big stadium too.
@@WithmeVerissimusWhostoned rivalry is also an issue in the UK, could you imagine United/City or Celtic/Rangers sharing a stadium
They have done that in Amsterdam. It’s not impossible. The team can play in another city.
The wide world of stadiums is the best channel on YT!
Wdym good reaction she is hating at the most beautiful stadiums ever
13:34 its because it is the other stadium haha, Inter & AC share it
17:00 Sheriff is the name of the company which sponsors everything, that's the reason it's named sherrifs department
Are still there? 🔥🚀
anfield looks a bit strange because it was built in 1884 and hasn’t moved since if it were to be rebuilt bigger they would have to knock down houses so they just do a stand at a time and just built on top
9:35 RedBull replaced the 2006 WorldCup Wave Design with pure red seats with a white bull.
Good point, best wishes from the wirral peninsula, home to Tranmere Rovers, the only English football club with a Hiberno Norse name...
This way, the both can't use the stadium at the same time.
wow a real person reacting :) How refreshing.. no faker and somebody paying attention. Well done
a few things you missed or got confused over:
A.C Milan play their football at the San Siro
Inter Milan play their football at the Giuseppe Meazza
the stadium is the exact same stadium with 2 different names and named differently based on which club is present (except on derby day when i don't think it matters).
the stadium shown for both Shakhtar Donetsk and Dynamo Kiev is the exact same stadium as until the point that it was deemed unsafe for all involved, Shakhtar were sharing a stadium with Dynamo so he just showed different perspectives for the same place for each entry.
regarding the Dynamo Kiev stadium and the running track, while it is not the only football stadium in Europe with a running track surrounding the pitch, it is/was the only football stadium in the Champions League to feature such a layout.
in terms of the Lille stadium, the pitch is split into 2 halves, literally, and the half that moves is on a huge 'sheet' which is moved using many hydraulic legs, if you want to see something similar then i would suggest watching the documentary about the new tottenham hotspur stadium, which has a similar sort of feature, just more expansive.
the capacity figures shown for some of these stadia in brackets means the maximum capacity they are allowed for Champions league games, which is different to their maximum capacity for domestic league games, for safety reasons.
the reason Real Madrid couldn't play in their stadium while it was being renovated is because of safety reasons, you asked a question 'why couldn't they play in their stadium while this was being built', the actual stadium was being worked on and improved, they weren't building a new one with the new design, they were renovating the old stadium to the new design, so while most of the foundational work was being done they had to move out of the Santiago Bernabeu until it was deemed safe to house a reduced capacity crown, that's why when you watched them playing during the champions league matches the entire first segment of seating was covered over with a blue tarp and was cordoned off an unavailable for people to sit in.
what only stadium
several stadiums featuring tracks have already been in the champions league
stadio olimpico, san paolo (now called diego maradona stadium), stade louis II
or even olympiastadion (2015 final)
Excellent.Thank You :)

15:52 those are actually for protection, things can get quite heated sometimes...
Hi, the plexiglass wall between the pitch and the stands, is to protect the pitch(players/ref) from the stands(fans) not the other way round.
I’ve been on a tour of Camp Nou. Fantastic stadium.
26:00 due to some stadiums being very old, parts of the old stadium is just renovated to fit in more people, that's why some of them look disproportionate in shape.
14:55 because they are changing the old one into the new one, it´s the same building
What a great match ,thank you for sharing your perspectives with us...
SoGal, the term you are looking for the San Siro is "Brutalism", an architectrural style of the 60's and 70's that the Italians absolutely loved.
Nothing says "Red Bull Leipzig" more, than taking a legendary, traditional stadium and building a soulless, corporate money machine on top of it.
The other stadium Real Madrid has is at Valdevevas ( training grounds ) which is where the Real Madrid B team plays , Alfredo Di Stedano Stadium
27:10 The Arena in The Netherlands has both too.
As has the Schalke Arena in Gelsenkirchen, Germany, which to my knowledge took a lot of ideas from the Dutch arena.
SAN SIRO "Looks like a half-finished building." Actually, I think it looks like a half-finished mattress.

Just a fun fact about Estadio Jose Alvalade from Sporting. It's nickname in Portugal is "the biggest toilet in the world".
The Champions League Final is now being held at the Stade de France. France’s national football stadium.
in changes every year
Anfield for atmosphere and bernabeau for location right in the centre city and so vertical I'd say two most intimidating stadiums
I love your football videos ❤
Dortmund's is a beauty. Great atmosphere.
i dont know if anyone noticed this but i think the wolfsburg's volkswagan stadium looks like an oversized car dealership on the exterior
The San Siro and The Stadio Giuseppe Miazza is the the same stadium but just with a different name. There are two clubs in Milan, AC Milan and Inter Milan who both share the stadium. They are fierce rivals and the atmosphere is febrile when they play each other.
14:58...Real Madrid aren't moving to a new stadium, they're rebuilding their old one, which is why they're playing in a building site at the moment.

Btw, this IS Real Madrid "Old" Stadium. They're just modernizing, not building a new one. Actually, in football, there is a strong bond between fans and their stadiums, so its not uncommon, but "weird" for them to just build new ones.

It is the old stadium that they're expanding.

The Red Bull stadium is cool but because it's named after a sponsor and the fact the atmosphere isn't that great knocks it down the list of stadiums I've visited
The stadiums of Bayern Munich and Dortmund are named after sponsors as well.

The Panathenaic stadium as it is called was a rebuilt and expanded ancient stadium, built between two small hills.
See you soon 😎👌
its sad that some are named after their sponsors and not after the club or old players guess money talks
I agree but RB Leipzig were only founded in 2009 so they don't have historical names or any attachment to the city

River Plate vs Boca Jr final played in Spain 2018 Copa Libertadores . We won 3-1 . Then there was Copa America and Argentina won again🏆😏. And finally in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar , we won again against France .
Hey, SoGal, you may have opened up a hornet's nest here. Stadiums. The world has amazing stadiums. And not just for football/soccer.
