And now they have added another congestion toll (Ulez Charge), so we have 2x charges if we want to motor into London, both are now 24/7. They gave us the same BS reasons it needed doing. • @we_create1
      @we_create1 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      1) If you’re talking about millionaires, then yeah, they won’t care about the fee whether $15, $150, or maybe even $300. Billionaires probably spend even more on their cars, but there are a *lot* more non-millionaires in nyc who wouldn’t want to pay your $150 ($37,000/yr by workdays) and still some who won’t want to pay the $15.
      2) The system of funding infrastructure by registration fees, gas taxes, and sales tax, already disproportionately affects low-income drivers. The program nyc is implementing specifically offers discounts to low-income drivers (about 25% discount on average for daily commuters), so it is already better than the current system (where transit riders subsidize the drivers) in funding for infrastructure for income-equity. The program will also be using its revenue to improve the transit system (the funds will be used for capital improvements and not to cover operating costs), which low-income people are more likely to benefit from.
      3) Improving public transit is very much a goal of the program. Also wdym by “road vehicle quota”? MTA has bus schedules for every bus line, is that not a quota?
      4) It’s estimated that the program will cause 17% fewer vehicles to enter the Central Business district and 9% fewer miles driven in there. It’s also expected to reduce congestion outside the area with less commutes (although not by much).
