3. GT owners have a slight stoop due to their cojones pulling them down. No problem.
4. There are no driveways or inclines on a race track.
5. A GT owners' personal garage is big enough for the door to open fully.
6. GT owners have at least one butler who is also a qualified mechanic.

This aged well
Being not able to open the engine cover with a single latch is a safety feature, actually. Most mid-engined sports cars with reverse-way opening of the engine cover have this feature incorporated by purpose. This is made to prevent accidental opening of the engine cover while driving the car at fast speed. If both latches on the Ford GT were connected together, that would render useless the engineering mind put into them.

Let me get this straight. Truck drivers can back up a semi truck with a 53' trailer in to tight truck stops and loading docks with no back window at all. Yet you need one to back up a 2 seat car? Maybe the problem is your ability to drive, not the design of the car.
caliarmyguy truck drivers tak classes to learn different techniques to back up or they have people help them out. not to mention the test they have to take to be able to drive the trailer. the point hes making is this is an high end average consumer car that should have a bit more visibility. dont be so butthurt.
truckers spend days learning nothing but backing up. they get a metric shit ton more practice going in reverse than any regular driver.
They have more experiance and much bigger mirrows.

Doesn't change a single thing about his statement though...the fact that it's a car just means that he's right, it IS a hell of a lot easier to back a CAR up without being able to see out the back than it is to back up a big truck with huge trailer, not being able to see out the back. It's called "physics".

Once again as I said in the beginning of the video, this is my FAVORITE car we have ever reviewed. I am just listing some of the cons to owning a Ford GT. No car is perfect. It IS hard to put it in reverse, the owner of this car agrees and it's a notorious issue all over the Ford GT forums.

its not the same at all. you may somehow be able to get them to the same horsepower but they probably have completely different handling. and even if they were the same performance wise who cares. its still a Honda civic. nobodys gonna care about your Honda civic except your ricer friends. the average car guy, or even person in general is still gonna stare at the ford gt in amazement because of the beautiful exoctic super car design and not even notice your dinky little civic even if you somehow miraculously got it to 1000 hp. like seriously I have no problem with Japanese cars but I'm so sick of ricers thinking their fucking civic is equal or even anywhere close to supercars like this ford gt? or Ferraris or something

I worked for the main company, Deutsche Telekom, and he drove a Porsche with a navigation system. His problem: The place he was looking for was greyed out.
So I jumped in and he parked the ride right in front, where my colleagues were having a cigarette and saw me climb out of the top dog's Porsche 911.

1. The car should never be in reverse anyway. So not an issue.
2. Who cares what's happening behind you? You're going forward, at all times.
3. That's a structural design, and it makes the car a little more aerodynamic.
4. The car doesn't go up inclines, or get parked in a driveway, once again not an issue.
5.This car should never be parked in a parking lot or a confined space.
6. The reason the cover is impossible to open is because 99% of people have no idea what is under there, or where to even begin. So it's only logical to make it impossible to access so they don't fuck it up.
I'm not a fan of the GT, but making stupid complaints about how it fails civilian lifestyle makes absolutely no sense. This car was designed with one purpose, and that is to win races. You don't win races by designing a car to be able to go the store and drive the family around.
So what you're saying is a ROAD car should never be used like normal on a road or that people don't know how to simply check washer fluid or engine oil levels?

Worked at an auto auction for 3 years and got to drive one of these once (for like 200 feet to the auction podium). They aren't hard to put into reverse, nor drive backwards. I actually really liked the feel of an actual mechanical linkage to the gearbox with a real tactile feel. Can't stand all these cars out today with paddleshifters, or absurdly light gear shifts.

Ok #1, Reverse, I had a 1970 Mach 1 with a Boss 302 in it, and reverse gear was always hard to place in, reason, you don't want to accidently put it in reverse at a race, it would be, Shaming and something No One will ever let you live down for the rest of your life. And No it did not happen to me. LOL,, #2- View- want to find a car worse than that, driver the Lamborghini Countach and see how nice the GT really is... LOL
