What’s the longevity of the treatment? Looks really good.

Damit will provide a permanent solution to dam and ponds leaks

Is it safe with fish that’s already in the pond?

When we dug my pond we hit shale and it hasn’t held water past 6’. Will this work with shale and plugging it up?

I have a pond that is about 1/4 acre in size, doing the same thing. Fills up really quick after a rain but it takes a while to drain down. Makes me sad that it won't hold. About how much product would it take to seal that?

It can be difficult to work out how much Damit to use. If your soils are porous and the water is leaking through the base we normally suggest application over the entire dam unless you know where the leaks sources might be . We find leaks are normally in the deeper areas of the dam and over constructed dam walls. It is better to apply a higher dose through the deeper areas and lighter dose higher up the walls and around the waterline.
A single pail will cover up to 150m2 /1600 sq ft so to cover an entire quarter acre pond you'd need approx 6-7 pails.

what did you set your spreader on ?

Each make and model of spreader is likely to differ slightly so it may need a little trial and error to start to find the best setting for your spreader. Start on a smaller opening then increase it to suit. If you are using a battery operated spreader you only need to set the opening on the hopper as the spinner should run at a constant speed but egg beater style manual spreaders can be more difficult to adjust. You don’t want the spreader setting open too far that Damit just keeps pouring out after you release the trigger/stop turning the handle but you also don’t want it too slow or it will take you too long to apply. You should find a slow walking pace is best then adjust the spreader opening so you end up with a nice even coverage

Excelent. Would it work on a small pond (2 meter diameter) constructed using a pond liner? Not sure where the leak us,,, It could be around the concrete underwater vault where the pump is.,...

sorry Damit is not suitable for use on concrete or over a liner - it needs to be able to freely percolate into the soil and bind with clay and silt particles. We also don't suggest for very small or shallow ponds as it will expand in contact with water.
