I bought an SSD just for this game last Christmas and am happily diving into the ARMA 3 rabbit hole these past few weeks after an almost 5-year absence. You were right that an SSD REALLY helps with petformance. Now my pc doesn't have a fit when I zoom in haha! Your mod videos help me catch up on this game's modding scene. Thanks for this refresher course! Forgot about the fixed point targeting and drone waypoint features. Keep the videos coming!

Love your content man. I bought this game in 2016 and am just now getting heavy into it. I’ve been wanting a 3rd person shooter fix for a while and didn’t realize what I was missing out on. That Ghost Recon 3rd person is dope, just a little bit too close. Needs a tweak.

Amazing content man! I'm new to Arma and picked up Arma3 since aparently it has better pve options then Reforger. Hopefully I made the right choice as Reforger has more potential to grow with it's new engine.
Just learnt that aiming deadzone actually does improve the immersion by not making the game feel like a weirder version of Counter Strike. It changes the aiming, but doesn't move the screen-view until the deadzone threshold is crossed. Wow! Dunno why I thought it was similar to controller joystick deadzone - so many years spent thinking that it means that the aiming doesn't change until the mouse is moved beyond the deadzone.
Hey Viper, big fan of the vids and I have a suggestion for a mod video, Something I think that doesn't get any attention are player model mods, I've seen some cool models and tattoos on player models that I just cannot find on the workshop. I think it'd be an interesting video.

some advice if u want it to play like reforger set acctime to 0.83 this slows down the movement a bit and makes it feel a little less arcadey at times.
Welcome to the community! It is a complex game when you start to dig a bit, the keybinds being the most complex issue many new players have. I may do a complete run through of the keybinds soon. But honestly once you get the hang of it, it is the most rewarding game I've ever played.

It'd be awesome if you could also do one for co-op hosting certain scenarios or custom missions for a group of friends. Never have I struggled so much to do just that in a game than in arma 3. Edit: spellcheck
It wasn’t shown in the command section but are there any ways to make the AI squad mates dispense and utilize certain tools like squad based mortars UAVs or even their grenades? They never seem to do it much at all
hello guys Is it possible for someone to help me? Since I installed ace mod, when I play as the co-pilot of the helicopter, the pilot, who is an ai, just goes up and does not follow the commands I give him.
Probably gonna be in the same boat 2 was in for awhile since arma 3 was also lacking at launch, I feel like one day 4 will fully replace 3 just like what happened with 2 (let’s face it arma 2 is dead) but fifteen years of mods doesn’t go away so likely for years following the release of 4 there will still be stuff that wasn’t ported over yet that people still prefer and play 3 for
I have 999,9 hours but only 90-100 hours of that is scenarios and campaigns. Remaining time is completely mod testing and AI wars, espicially with Zeus in Old Man (it has custom reinforcement system).. Sadly ace doesn't support Old Man I'm not able to test ace required mods but it's ok I just create my own scenario in different map then, but possibly just taking photo if I feel lazy I'm still learning new functions btw even it's vanilla thing..
Multithreading has always been a thing, it just wasn’t optimized. The new updates from Dedmen are fantastic and many ppl, myself included, are seeing huge jumps in FPS with a lot of effects happening at once
Did you ever come across the channel Dayz Medic? They used to make script tutorials on youtube for arma 3 and they were super helpful and funny. Sadly i think the channel has been deleted :(

Unfortunately they didnt sort out multi play so it can play same as most other games.. easily. To play this game multi play with friends you have to do port forwarding. Its a bit stuck in the past.. in that regard.

Great guide! Only thing I see missing is joining a multiplayer lobby. A friend of mine over thinks the process a bit and just quits all together every time they try. Despite me explaining it several times also. Another thing is maybe hosting a private lobby, but that stuff could be a part 2.
I was going to add that in here, but its so hit or miss for people. I included it in a previous video and got "MP not working for X reason" a lot in the comments, and I'm like well I'm not there to do it for you and I don't know how you deviated from what I put in the video haha. I may make a standalone video of the different methods. :)
Had arma 3 for years but only started playing late last year consistently. I’ve put in 100 hours already and most of it has been flying transport in KOTH servers. Always loved flying so it’s lovely when you can contribute to a teams win simply because you did you did your job. Love how arma has something for everybody of all sorts. Simply something most games don’t offer.

In time reforger will pass 3 but right now 3 is definitely more fleshed out mod wise and core wise. But that's a given, arma 3 is how old now lol

honestly I wasn't aware there was a dedicated loiter setting without putting waypoints down. You learn something new everyday.

A little life saving tip. When using launchers, you cannot move while reloading or cancel it. Make sure you are in cover before reloading.

@@Viper1Zero Especially when firing a launcher sends out a great big "I AM HERE" signal.
Looking back, I definitely should have altered the AI difficulty in Arma when I started in 2021, would've made my new experience smoother.
Honestly there’s no shame in it. Ha, the AI is still pretty decent at lower levels, just a little slower.
