Yes, I didn’t know the flying tiles could be used for movement… That’s something that completely flew (haha… no?) over my head. You guys can stop commenting it now…😅 The amount of people saying how their list would be much different just goes to show how cool of a game Echoes of Wisdom is! It’s nearly impossible for everyone to use the same echoes throughout the game. As each persons thought process is different. I think that’s really neat!
The decorative shrub and trampoline are some of the most useful echoes early game in order to reach high ledges! With only 3 triangles, I could reach a total of 7 beds of height using only those two, and with the frog ring, the decorative shrub can get you up to 12 beds above the ground! The old bed is not nearly as good for gaining height, as 3 old beds get you as high as a single strampoline. The old bed is however very useful as a platform on top of water, and to build bridges across long gaps (although the flying tile lets you fly across gaps). I think in general, you rate a lot of the combat echoes based on how good they are to have sitting around, but many of the combat echoes are much better when summoned repeatedly. I would definitely change the rankings around for many of the enemies that are better when spamming. As an example, the sea urchin is basically like having a sword with a lingering hitbox, as you can spam Y to repeatedly summon them on top of enemies. Sea urchin was definitely a go- to in combat until midgame for me. Similarily, you can spam the flying thing that spits bombs, and the bombs dont despawn when the echo despawns, so you can have like 10 bombs on screen at a time, and you can point it at roughly where you want it to aim. This ensures there will be to many bombs on screen for the enemies to dodge them all!
I was surprised seeing the Ghirro so low, cuz if you pick them up and use them to glide they blow their air behind you and give you a huge speed boost when gliding, it's amazing and they were one of my most used
@@Ryan64yt I guess it's super cool how everyone can end up playing this game very differently. Great video tho, these are all high quality and I'm surprised you don't already have more subs so keep it up it's great!
6:14 WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU USE IT WRONG IT'S SOOOO GOOD IT SHOULDN'T BE USED IN BATTLE THE POINT IS TO GO TO OTHER PLACES EASILY IT'S DEFINITELY TOP 30 AT LEAST
@@Ryan64yt for me I honestly used it until at the very least until I reached hyrule castle, if not longer xD and I kinda went around the world before going to the castle, seeing the 3 later areas pre-rifts xD I also used it a lot whenever there was water, especially considering the shark needs 4 tri-points before finally getting lowered to 3. But yeah, everyone uses different stuff, I also used the fire zol a lot for example xD
@@NontpNonjo That's the reason why I mostly used combat echoes that attack without much of a wind-up. Spawn a Mothula, let it attack, spawn another one right after. It's less of a summon and more of a projectile.
Might be a hot take, but I think the Sea Urchin is top 10. I was using them all throughout my playthrough, even in the final battle. Having an instantly active, persistent hitbox that some entire enemies are stumped on how to deal with is a fantastic tool to have. Bringing one out is effectively a discount sword swipe, and it provides consistant defensive utility. It also removes the frustration of waiting for it to attack, which a lot of enemy echoes have a problem with. Ghirro should be higher because for the purposes of gliding, it's the best in the game. Holding onto it will prompt it to wind gust behind you, pushing you forward. They even do this on the ground, making your walking speed faster. You're using the Flying Tile wrong. It's not meant for combat; it's meant for transportation. Stand on it, and it will take you a rather generous fixed distance, which can cross gaps. If you're good with timing, it can even be used for infinite height. This one should be in the top 20 at least. Crows have a very important distintion that make them worth so much more than the Albatrawl; Rupee farming. They can knock a lot of Rupees out of enemies and even collect some of them on your behalf. I would also put Zirro higher because you can pick up the bombs and throw them, and they don't harm you. Meaning that the bomb power-up for Swordfighter mode is useless; why waste your meter when your flying mushroom has your back? I even use this more than the bombfish except for underwater bombing. Poe is bottom 10. This this is more of a detriment to you than your enemies. If you want to attack with fire, pick anything else; you at least have control over where the Torch Slug spawns its friendly fire, not to mention that Ignizols and Fire Octoroks exist. I LOVE Moa. Moa's another top 10 for me. It projectiles are fast, true, and powerful, and having 3 of them swarming you will handily take care of bosses that don't require elemental attacks. I'm glad we can at least agree that Old Bed is the BOAT.
Since everybody and their mother has already defended the Flying Tile, let me argue in favor of some others I think are underrated: - Spiked Roller: I used this one as a lawnmower for rupee farming. It's so satisfying to clear out fields of grass with it. - Ribbitune: This was a godsend for me in the Gohma fights, because it expands the range of Sparks' electricity, making it super easy to activate Gohma's lights and knock it off the wall. - Tweelus: You can use them as platforms in lava, and they're way cheaper than the lava rocks.
Well I see the problem with Flying Tile. You're trying to use it as a weapon when it's much better as transportation. I used it a lot when I didn't feel like making a bed bridge
Platboom was the best echo during my run, I found out that if you stand on one side and place a platboom on another platboom the second one will travel to the max height when you place it already in the air. I climbed all the way on top of Hebra mountain with it and it’s the easiest instant height
@@AnkhylCrawltula is good if you have a wall to climb; platboom gets you up without a wall. Also, crawltula is aggressive, so will get distracted by enemies if any are around.
The tile can be used to shoot echoes twice as far as the rod alone. The ancient orb can be used to attack enemies from above by reverse binding to it to float. The leever can be used as an melee attack, like the sea urchin, but with continued hits afterwards. You can do trick shots with holes left by holmills.
Between the flying tile, platboom, and water block, I actually very rarely used the old bed outside of the very beginning of the game. Combined with the frog ring, platboom quickly became my most used. It's quicker and simpler than beds or water blocks when you just need hight.
I used the ancient orb to cheese the 2D Smog fight. They can be used as platforms for the boss without needing to worry about gravity. Made it go from a challenging puzzle to being over in about a minute.
5:27 I actually didn't discover this until much later in the game, but these flying-mushroom-blowers can be used to FLY. Really far and fast to. It's like a bat on steroids.
no way you put the sea urchin so low. one of the easiest simplest forms of damage, early game I would be using it as if it was a sword. I would have mentioned the flying tile but you already commented that you didn't know, though I would like to know where you would rank it now that you know. For the pathblade I find it really funny that you figured out that you can ride the spinning saw of death, but didn't think about if you could stand on a literal platform.
Two notes for the Rock Roast echo (one for, one against, and likely won’t change the ranking): First, there actually IS a use for them, albeit an obscure pne. They can distract enemies, similar to the Meat or Stuffed Toy, but specifically the Tweelus enemies are the only ones affected by Rock Roast. This doesn’t make them much more helpful, but it is a use Secondly, the Rock Roast echo itself is actually not required for the story, since for the story, you must bring a real rock roast to the NPC, the echo doesn’t count. So for the main story, you never have to get the echo at all, most people just will anyways since the item is required and the item is also echo-able
I would love to see a follow-up with some of these updates included. I didn't rank them as I don't have that in me. But would love to see people rank all items down the road. Also if you do another video. Use tier maker. It makes for a super clean ending with that in the last few frames and it will help you put all your thoughts together too. Sign: Should have points for wrong warping. Decorative Shrub: In the super early game (specifically very tight spaces and 2D) this was the only way to get verticle height until I got a Crawltula/Strandtula. Statues: These only cost one and can be used sequentially to make paths for the Goron Mines. Huge help as Lava Rock is just not worth it after learning this. This must be higher than Lava Rock just for this. They are required for 2 dungeons when used this way and have more utility than the decorative shrub. They also don't fall into lava like the Boulders. These may be the biggest oversight IMO in the video besides the Flying Tile. Ghirro: Best echo to use for flight at long distances as they push you. They can also be bound to push enemies into holes (like the wind cannon). Can also be used to put out fires. Required for a heart piece and 1 dungeon. Tornado: Can cause super jumping if you bind yourself to a bed and launch the bed. Needlefly: Has 2 situations to use it. When you need to place a flying troop on water and cannot stand on a floating/permanent ground. I only used this when in the cave for the Lvl3 Lizalfos to get the heartpiece and if I was using waterblocks and needed a distraction in the air. It still is a terrible echo late game. (Edit: I learned yesterday that if you jump then spawn a flying troop over water they are able to stabilize) Flying tile?!? I used that to skip so much platforming. It is a faster easier way to traverse most rifts and skip puzzles in the dungeons. I would say it should be just under the Water Block higher than the bed. Once I got these two tiles, almost no bed bridges were used again. Zirro: Abuse the spam summon technique and they can output huge damage to enemies. I used them in the Volvagia boss battle. I always found the Lvl2 spear Moblin most consistent to kill flying units. I see a bunch of people saying the boomerang is better I just didn't have the consistency with them in mid-game. I would love to see someone really break down the Moblin versus Boarblin discussion. Octorock: I would use the lvl 1 Tektite before an Octorock every time. However, fire/ice Octorocks are definitely more useful than lvl2 Tektite. Poe: I used this once to try it. Never used it again. This might be worse the the Sea Urchine in terms of combat. Watch Any% speedruns and you will know what I mean. Soft bed: Same as Poe, but instead of combat was utility. You get Zelda's bed so soon after this it isn't worth picking up. Beamos: Higher than the Poe and Deku Baba but still terrible. Should be lower when there isn't a reason I would ever use this. Fire/Ice Octorocks I used most of the late game. They are the extra chip damage and distraction perfect when I'm using lvl3 Darknut to decimate everything. Try combing these. It almost isn't worth transforming into the Link Echo. Lavarock: As mentioned before in the Statues section I think this was the biggest mistake besides Flying Tile. Once I learned about both the Statues and Flight, this awful echo can now be skipped. Wind Cannon: Did you try to reverse bind carrying the Ghirro ever? It's just a better utility version of the wind cannon. Darknut lvl3: Try binding it and moving it as it spins. Makes it way better. Old Bed: Because you didn't know the Flying tile, this makes sense. But with this knowledge, I still would make it a top 10. But the cloud, Zelda bed, water block, flying tile, and other options are more efficient when you are creative. I would say the old bed is absolutely the Jack of all trades. No questions. But it is also the Ace of none.
this list is really interesting. I find lots of uses for some of the low ranks and almost never used some of the high ranks. like the sea urchin makes a decent barrier to trap moldorms in one place, or you can bind to it and walk it around into enemies for example 😂
A lot of people have already mentioned the flying tiles for their maneuverability options, but I found them also useful for clearing out rows of boxes fast. They dash right through them and you only have to pick up the goodies.
Decorative shrubs are good for platforming to and from high places. The statues are good for blocking the ice and thermal vents in the Lanayru Temple. Sand crabs are good for attacking things that are underwater. Tornadoes can put out fires and blow away mounds of snow. You can ride on top of or get dragged flying tiles, making them very useful. Boxes can float on water, making them quite useful in certain scenarios. Tweelus are also immune to some weak fire and electric attacks, and are capable of fighting underwater. Zirros can be repeatedly spawned and despawned for infinite bombs and the accuracy is much better if you do that. If you bind to the ball and chain trooper, you can make it much more effective offensively, same with Peahats. Lava rocks are great in 2D sections for knocking enemies off walls. Ignizol are also very spammable against enemies because they become very cheap to spawn once Tri is at a higher level and they can be thrown for more damage.
Loved the video! Personally the decorative shrub and sea urchin were super useful for me early game, but everyone has their own playstyle. And yes, omg, I got the peehat super early and it carried me so well!
I like that no one is disagreeing with Ignizol being 14. Seems to kill the plants, undead, bugs and ice enemies weirdly easily. But mainly. It's just all the puzzles and areas where you want cheap fire.
I used the platboom so often once i figured out you can useit outside of the 2D segments. It's so easy to gain infinite hight with them by spawning one when the platboom you're currently on reaches its hight limit. Which makes that second one go even higher. It's probably my 3rd favorite echo. 2nd has got to be the Darknut level 3. I was one of those people who missed out on getting the Lynel before beating the game, and I explored the whole map multiple times, looking for every heart piece and might crystal. I found the Darknut level 3 fairly early into the second half of the game, because I went to the Faron Wetlands first. The old bed is just too good to not be number 1. I dont even need to explain why.
I can't believe how fast your channel is growing, man. You're still fresh to the scene and almost have 10k, thats insane. Congrats! I haven't beaten EoW yet so I'm not going to be watching this until then, can't wait until then though.
It's funny, as a casual item the Shrub and Sign, are pretty worthless, but in the speedrun they are 100 percent needed to beat the game in under an hour 😂
I was asleep as this video played and I have no knowledge on Echos of Wisdom -I woke up to " I love the old bed and you should to " and now I'm convinced to buy this game .
I love seeing how different people would rank different echoes, for me the Torch Slug and Fire Octo would both be top 10, Torch Slug was my go to for lighting things on fire, and also in areas with a lot of grass they are good at setting everything on fire quickly and burning all the enemies. Fire Octo are just great when you want to summon a whole army of long range attackers to hide behind But your #1 pick is 100% correct, Old Bed supremacy ftw
For casual play, echoes such as the sign are useless, but in Any% speedruns the sign is used for wrong warping, which is a way to sequence break the game. Just thought that was interesting and worth noting.
As someone freshly out of a minimalist run of the game, I’ll just say that the statues are MUCH more useful than one would initially think (myself included during my first playthrough)
Platboom is easily my favorite platforming echo. It gets better and better as you get stronger. I got it super early in the game and used it to the very end. Once you’re able to summon 2 of them, you can stack them to essentially get easy infinite height, just like the cloud. And as soon as I got the frog ring and could easily jump up on them, I pretty much never touched the bed, the water block, or the trampoline again.
We found the decorative shrub to be SUPER helpful in stealth sections, because once you're up there you're too high to get caught or even seen. Doesn't work on one particular stealth section though.
Waiting for the major attack enemies to actually attack was such a pain in the early game I found myself using the Urchins and Deku Babas way more often.
I used the Beetle Mound to solve the button puzzles where you need to step on 2 buttons at the same time. Just leave it beside the button and the Beetles will press the buttons from time to time.
I used reverse bind on tektites to get up waterfalls. It took some patience, as they'd always hop around randomly first, but they'd get there in the end. Crows increase the amount of rupees that enemies drop. Useful when you need cash.
Cool list! I discovered something very cool with Zirros, you can spam them and they create infinite bombs as they release the first as soon as you summon them. The amount of AoE damage you can unleash with them is insane!
All this new information that the comments are telling me makes me want to spend hours on each echo just trying every possible thing. I had no idea they worked like that!
So I used the frog that brings rain as a way to charge the electric type echoes that was very useful against certain enemies. Also for the slower echoes that are tankier.. I would just use bind ability on enemies and bring them to my slow tanky echoes and it worked really well too!
I’m sorry. The flying tile is useless? I use that thing so much getting over gaps and stuff. Lol. Sure, it’s useless and battle, but I don’t think it was really meant to be used in battle as much as traversal.
Drippitune works well with any electric power echoes. It should be a little higher. Also, the sea urchin I think is top 20 for me. I was able to use it kind of like a melee weapon, and the 1 cost means I could trap enemies in an area surrounded by urchins and they would just die.
I don't really want to take away an echoes use, but, those dark underwater sections also have the shining blue crystals that light up when you touch them. You can easily light up the whole area, making the lvl 2 Tangler redundant.
I personally used the Ghirro (wind flying thingy) a lot more, as if you lift it, it blows BEHIND Zelda, speeding her up on land and in the air! It's really useful for bypassing large gaps that need to be glided over!
I’m Not sure if people know this but if you use a platboom, go to the top then spawn another next to it the second platboom will go all the way to the ground but go twice as high because it started one platboom length in the air. You can stack this infinitely and quite easily climb up hebra mountain without using caves with this.
Albatraw has the ability to dive for one or two seconds, thats it, and the crow can make enemies drop at least 5 rupees on first hit, so it's quite useful imo
Actually, the shrub was pretty useful. There were some places where I needed more height, and the shrub was the answer It’s a bit of a puzzle sometimes, but if you spawn things in the right order, you can create a bed staircase on top of a shrub (after getting yourself on top of an adjacent shrub, which you despawn later once you’re climbing the beds)
Shout out to Crow. While it does low damage, you can pull out 5 or 6 by the last 3rd of the game and they’re great for rupee economy. With 5-6 Crows out, you can easily take down most enemies while gathering bonus rupees
I think the crow needs to be much higher. You can get it early on, it allows you to fly all over the map if you are holding meat, and it gives you rubees on a first hit with a given enemy
Pathblade was my most used monster echo. Not saying it’s the very best, but it’s fast, cheap, durable, and can do a lot of damage if you place it right. That and Darknut Lv 3 absolutely carried me through the final fight.
The Biri absolutely carried the final boss fight I had no success with the water fish version of null and ran out of sword. I just sat 3 feet away when it was stunned and used the Biri to carry me through the boss fight
I always used crabs as armor piercing urchins. Of course the only armored enemies I used them on were the other crabs, but at least that was convenient! Also, the rolling spikes are sometimes great in 2d areas.
I found the sea urchin to be very useful. A lot of enemies that use their body to attack have bo chance against the sea urchins. It’s a great early echo.
Personally, I'd rank the crows higher. For one, they actually generate rupees the first time they strike an enemy; so, you know, free money. Two, they actually became my main combat summon in the mid to late game. They're more spammable than the Guay and more durable than the Keese.
Flying tiles are not the best for attacking, but they work great to get across longer areas! It does have the disadvantage of breaking just as you reach the other side, so you need to time your jump right, but it's better than using multiple beds sometimes. Those, and the Water Block are two of my most used Echoes!
I actually used the shrub so much it was in my top cuz I had a stacking pattern to get up ledges and the shrub was great when I needed a taller item as the base
Decorative shrub was actually pretty useful for some point, useful when building stairs in situations Flying titles are insanely good, let you skip LARGE portions of puzzles/challenges, its not a combat echo its a platforming echo.
Congrats on the job, Some that i would move much to the top 50: 117 - sea urchin is not bad, you'll end up using it a lot through the game, because you can also send it at distance. It's actually 3rd spot on my most used. 106 - Sand crabs are very useful underwater (2d) they're like the best for minibosses that can be overwhelmed. Few of creatures that survive underwater. 100 - Flying tile, are NOT for attacking, you can jump on them and make some jumping puzzles way easier. 94 - Tektite is very good for spamming, their DPS is fairly good, better than the lv2 because it costs only 1 81 - Boomerang Boarblin is good for spamming, boomerang can hit several times so if you spam you can get constant 8+ hits on bosses and multiple enemies. Sometimes better than having 2 lv2 24 - Crawltula, really? I think it is top 5, Finally, bed is good but it is totally replaced by the cloud that is completely OP.
While some of my most used were for logistical/transport purposes (water blocks, flying tiles, beds, platboom, crawltula, etc...) I think my favorites to use were definitely the wolfos (with the crows & chompfin as runner-ups). I just loved wandering around the world with a wolf pack following my beck and call haha
early on, with limite echoes, I used the rock with a tree to jump up and then put a tree on the rock and a tree on the tree to reach heights I could not otherwise.
Sea urchin should be so much higher. Enemies will target it, damaging themselves. And then when enemies get too smart for that, you can bind the urchin or enemy and move them into each other
Ok, the first i am going to hard disagree with is flying tile. Yes, it sucks in combat, but that isnt the reason it is one of my most used. It is a mobility echo. Place it, use the wind up time to jump on it, fly a short distance unbothered by wind and ignoring gravity. The flight is just short enough that it is easy to plan around, and it can be argued that planning is enough to put it above trap blade simply for being more predictable, if not the flight factor. I wont go so far as to rank them, but i definitely see the echoes in categories: -Mobility: Water Block (Generalist mobility), Flying Tile (Pits and strong wind null) , Crawltula (wall climber), Platboom (instant height), Girro (best glider in the game) -Combat: Lynel (best combat), any 5 summon slot minion is about on par with the others of the same cost, peahat (king of the early game) -Elemental: used for their elemental properties, mostly interchangeable with different strengths and weaknesses Without actively looking at my list, my top 5 are probably water block, flying tile, lynel, crawltula, and platboom, in that order. While i cant deny cloud is good, it is obtained so late in the game that it has to compete with water block for usage, and there are very few instances where cloud can do a job water cant outside of the region you get it. On top of that, cloud has one major downside in comparison to clouds: ceilings. You are practically FORCED to gain elevation with clouds, but using water blocks lets you control your elevation in the same places you would abuse it for mobility. With forced elevation, there is an upper limit to what can be achieved with clouds horizontally, and in its most useful locations, you dont have enough vertical height to work with to abuse it.
Overall, I agree with this list, including your top pick. Some exceptions from my experience: 118. Sea Urchin should be higher. Spamming this, especially in the early game, was very helpful 105. Ghirro should be much higher. It is incredibly helpful for gliding, though it did screw me over several times by blowing me off platforms if I didn’t immediately get rid of it 100. Flying tile should be a bit higher. It was very helpful to ride when platforming 83. Buzz Blobs should be a bit higher. Spamming them is very effective 33. (O)Peahat absolutely should be higher. Dude was an MVP of my playthrough, especially earlier on. Spamming him was still extremely useful even at the end. I love him so much. 5. Zelda’s Bed is way too high. The cost isn’t worth it, and the game gives you no shortage of ways to recover health quickly. If you’re not pressed for time, the old bed works fine, especially if you do the speed up trick if you’re just impatient 2. Cloud is absurdly too high. You get it way too late, and there’s so many equal or better options by then. I never used it outside of that one still area. Way too high and that I don’t think I used once: 70. Ice block 69. Goo Spector (though I respect your rationale) 65. Hoarder 64. Giant Goponga Flower 57. Temper Tweelus (though again I respect your rationale) 53. Poe 41. Beamos 32. Gustmaster 25. Pathblade 16. Carrot (I got the horse early and barely used it)
I know you admit that you're biased, which is fine. But I'm honestly stumped at how highly so many people praise the old bed. Yes, it gets the job done. But it's outclassed by other echoes so quickly. Platboom for vertical height, flying tile for horizontal distance, water blocks for finicky maneuvering. And that's without even going into how the cloud echo is literally just a bed that isn't bound by gravity. Apart from sleeping in it, the cloud can do everything the old bed can do but better.
It was my #1 echo by FAR and I found myself using it almost every moment that I needed to move anywhere. Obviously the list is bias since it’s based off my own personal experience with the listed echoes. Those reasons you just mentioned is why I put the cloud at #2. Though of course all of those might be the better option, I always went with the bed, for whatever reason…
By the way, the rock roast isn't completely useless, it can attract the tweelus enemies. I haven't tested, but you might be able to "walk" across lava with it
Yes, I didn’t know the flying tiles could be used for movement… That’s something that completely flew (haha… no?) over my head. You guys can stop commenting it now…😅

I have definitely seen someone summon a whole army of lynels on TH-cam
Haha literally came to dispute that ranking; one of my absolute most used echoes for sure.
Good list! I do disagree with the flying tile being SO low. It sucks as a weapon but is REALLY good for crossing long gaps and hitting switches!
@@jwoodsonmusic you also can gain infinite height once you can summon 2. One of the best mobility echos in the entire game
Yeah I literally skipped multiple parts of the game with ty tile lmao
Yes to this! In the fire dungeon I failed to understand how the main obstacle worked, so I leaned hard on the flying tile and it got me through!!
@@jwoodsonmusic I came down here to make sure somebody clarified this. Hard agree! Before the cloud I used it quite a bit.
Same bro, I used the flying tile in every single area with parkour in the game
Flying tile is my most used echo
SAME! I use it to cross large gaps in dungeons and the still world all the time. And its fast so you can escape enemies if they're nearby
Throwing it at enemies is fun too lol
This ensures there will be to many bombs on screen for the enemies to dodge them all!
yes!!!!
Flying tile isn’t a weapon, it’s for transportation.
It also gives a little lift and you can ascend cliff sides with it quickly by alternating sides
Flying tiles basically bypass like 75% of still world challenges
I was surprised seeing the Ghirro so low, cuz if you pick them up and use them to glide they blow their air behind you and give you a huge speed boost when gliding, it's amazing and they were one of my most used
Didn’t find myself gliding very much, but that’s a super neat usage!

Urchin definitely top 10 for me. It’s basically the only melee option outside of sword mode
Spamming Urchin is how I killed Ghoma. Makes it way easier than waiting for my other echoes to attack. Just hop on the weak spot and brrrrrrrrrrrrr.
Not a hot take, the urchin is def top 7
Since everybody and their mother has already defended the Flying Tile, let me argue in favor of some others I think are underrated:
- Spiked Roller: I used this one as a lawnmower for rupee farming.
Thank you for reading the comments first…
Drippitune?
Well I see the problem with Flying Tile. You're trying to use it as a weapon when it's much better as transportation. I used it a lot when I didn't feel like making a bed bridge
I didn’t even think of doing this… whoops
@@Ryan64ytits all right bro, no one is perfect, still nice tier list though
combining drippitune with buzz blobs instantly buffs the electrical attacks!
That's very good for the faron dungeon boss
Platboom was the best echo during my run, I found out that if you stand on one side and place a platboom on another platboom the second one will travel to the max height when you place it already in the air. I climbed all the way on top of Hebra mountain with it and it’s the easiest instant height
I think crawltula is the easiest, no need to coordinate anything just let it go xD
Never knew that, interesting!
5:27 I actually didn't discover this until much later in the game, but these flying-mushroom-blowers can be used to FLY. Really far and fast to. It's like a bat on steroids.
@@Zombieworm98 when i need to fly i use them
@Zombieworm98 Agree, I was about to comment that and yes I use all the time when flying around.
no way you put the sea urchin so low. one of the easiest simplest forms of damage, early game I would be using it as if it was a sword.
I would have mentioned the flying tile but you already commented that you didn't know, though I would like to know where you would rank it now that you know.
For the pathblade I find it really funny that you figured out that you can ride the spinning saw of death, but didn't think about if you could stand on a literal platform.
Two notes for the Rock Roast echo (one for, one against, and likely won’t change the ranking):
First, there actually IS a use for them, albeit an obscure pne. They can distract enemies, similar to the Meat or Stuffed Toy, but specifically the Tweelus enemies are the only ones affected by Rock Roast. This doesn’t make them much more helpful, but it is a use
Secondly, the Rock Roast echo itself is actually not required for the story, since for the story, you must bring a real rock roast to the NPC, the echo doesn’t count.
(Edit: I learned yesterday that if you jump then spawn a flying troop over water they are able to stabilize)
Flying tile?!?
I used the shrubs all the time. Place one rock and just keep staggering them. Way quicker than using the spider to climb up a wall.
this list is really interesting. I find lots of uses for some of the low ranks and almost never used some of the high ranks. like the sea urchin makes a decent barrier to trap moldorms in one place, or you can bind to it and walk it around into enemies for example 😂
i gotta say something cool about the ancient orb is that it stays where you put in the air and i’ve used it a couple times for that!
A lot of people have already mentioned the flying tiles for their maneuverability options, but I found them also useful for clearing out rows of boxes fast. They dash right through them and you only have to pick up the goodies.
I would personally rank the ghirro higher cause the gusts of wind it shoots out boost you while gliding with it
The rock roast can actually attract the stone talus looking enemies in Eldin.
And yes, omg, I got the peehat super early and it carried me so well!
love the concept behind this video, its so unique!
Drippitune can function as a decoy while also buffing any electric echoes with extra AOE, which I found particularly useful during the Faron boss
Dude the flying tiles are super useful, since you can ride them
It's funny, as a casual item the Shrub and Sign, are pretty worthless, but in the speedrun they are 100 percent needed to beat the game in under an hour 😂
Funny how that’s the case for most Zelda games. I guess Nintendo doesn’t check the “useless” items for glitches
The flying Tile was so useful! Have you tried jumping on it?
No…. I’m not as smart as all of you guys are
I was asleep as this video played and I have no knowledge on Echos of Wisdom -I woke up to " I love the old bed and you should to " and now I'm convinced to buy this game .
I love seeing how different people would rank different echoes, for me the Torch Slug and Fire Octo would both be top 10, Torch Slug was my go to for lighting things on fire, and also in areas with a lot of grass they are good at setting everything on fire quickly and burning all the enemies. Fire Octo are just great when you want to summon a whole army of long range attackers to hide behind
But your #1 pick is 100% correct, Old Bed supremacy ftw
I got so much use out of the level 1 Boomerang Boarblins on my run, they were putting in solid work as a mob enemy even into the final boss!
Did you never even try to fly on the tile? Plus the statues do the same as the boulder but with style
Crows collecting rupees and knocking rupees out of enemies is an epically helpful echo.
The sign is the basis for the speedrun that break this game in 30 min (reuploaded comment for a reuploaded video)
Love your contento btw a couple weeks ago. I binged everything
Appreciate it!
To do what? I didn’t know they had any use outside of the gerudo dungeon
Platforms, blocking hazards and enemy attacks, making lava a mere concept of the mind, weights for the puzzles in Faron Temple, all that stuff!
Urchin was one of my most-used echoes. Dropping it right on top of enemies is kind of like using a sword. Flying tiles are great for riding over gaps.
Waiting for the major attack enemies to actually attack was such a pain in the early game I found myself using the Urchins and Deku Babas way more often.
So wrong about the flying tile it is awful for attacks but amazing for platforming
I used the Beetle Mound to solve the button puzzles where you need to step on 2 buttons at the same time.
Just leave it beside the button and the Beetles will press the buttons from time to time.
ooh good solution! I used armos and just timed jumping on a switch as the armos jumped on another. same in some places with the pathblade!
For the comedic value alone, I love the sign echo!
I just with Hoodless Zelda was available as a clothing option.
Definitely cracked me up a bit when I first tried to use that echo! #WEWANTHOODLESSZELDA
@@Ryan64yt Heck yeah!!
Yes, this is a reupload. I wasn't happy with the frame rate and quality of the last one. So enjoy this video in its 60fps glory!
Noooooo that means my comment that you liked is gone 😭😞
@@tamarajones-childsandcryst2484 yep… but this one is still here!
@@Ryan64yt yay! Love your content btw
Thanks I really appreciate it :)
Fireworks are pretty nice though, for quickly attacking something that's directly above you. I used it a lot in my run.
Albatraw has the ability to dive for one or two seconds, thats it, and the crow can make enemies drop at least 5 rupees on first hit, so it's quite useful imo
The rock is actually amazing, you can use it to make temporary paths in lava and as an unbreakable shield
Actually, the shrub was pretty useful. There were some places where I needed more height, and the shrub was the answer
It’s a bit of a puzzle sometimes, but if you spawn things in the right order, you can create a bed staircase on top of a shrub (after getting yourself on top of an adjacent shrub, which you despawn later once you’re climbing the beds)
The crow is amazing for gem farming. Almost every enemy sprays money when they get hit
I was using the chompfin echo during that fight and it was working quite well!
Right away, your list disqualifies objects used by speed runners
Well, considering I’m not a speed runner… yeah…
The crow might not be very good, but it is very fun to watch a hoard of six of them kill enemies for you
True lol
Tweelus are a really good cheap platform for jumping through lava with, I skipped all of the enemy gliding segments in the fire temple using them
I always used crabs as armor piercing urchins. Of course the only armored enemies I used them on were the other crabs, but at least that was convenient!
Also, the rolling spikes are sometimes great in 2d areas.
I basically used Sword Moblin Lv3 for nearly every fight and spammed the Zirro to create a constant barrage of bombs!
Decorative shrub was actually pretty useful for some point, useful when building stairs in situations
Flying titles are insanely good, let you skip LARGE portions of puzzles/challenges, its not a combat echo its a platforming echo.
Oh boy, the sign in second to last place, the speedrunners sure gonna disagree with THAT ranking.
Yep… I only found out about the speedrunning route after I had fully made the video…
Pea hat is no doubt my favorite echo as I got it before swordfighter form and carried me for most of the game
Congrats on the job, Some that i would move much to the top 50:
117 - sea urchin is not bad, you'll end up using it a lot through the game, because you can also send it at distance.
94 - Tektite is very good for spamming, their DPS is fairly good, better than the lv2 because it costs only 1
81 - Boomerang Boarblin is good for spamming, boomerang can hit several times so if you spam you can get constant 8+ hits on bosses and multiple enemies. Sometimes better than having 2 lv2
24 - Crawltula, really? I think it is top 5,
Finally, bed is good but it is totally replaced by the cloud that is completely OP.
the tile is not to be used as a weapon but as a horizontal platform thats flying
really? Crows are that low on the list? I practically used them till end game due to their Rupee making ability.
I never found myself low enough on rupees to resort to that
While some of my most used were for logistical/transport purposes (water blocks, flying tiles, beds, platboom, crawltula, etc...) I think my favorites to use were definitely the wolfos (with the crows & chompfin as runner-ups). I just loved wandering around the world with a wolf pack following my beck and call haha
Having wolf bodyguards is always pretty cool 😎
16:52 beef :)
gg to the old bed
early on, with limite echoes, I used the rock with a tree to jump up and then put a tree on the rock and a tree on the tree to reach heights I could not otherwise.
I wont go so far as to rank them, but i definitely see the echoes in categories:
-Mobility: Water Block (Generalist mobility), Flying Tile (Pits and strong wind null) , Crawltula (wall climber), Platboom (instant height), Girro (best glider in the game)
-Combat: Lynel (best combat), any 5 summon slot minion is about on par with the others of the same cost, peahat (king of the early game)
-Elemental: used for their elemental properties, mostly interchangeable with different strengths and weaknesses
Without actively looking at my list, my top 5 are probably water block, flying tile, lynel, crawltula, and platboom, in that order.
Some exceptions from my experience:
118. Sea Urchin should be higher. Spamming this, especially in the early game, was very helpful
105. Ghirro should be much higher. It is incredibly helpful for gliding, though it did screw me over several times by blowing me off platforms if I didn’t immediately get rid of it
100. Flying tile should be a bit higher. It was very helpful to ride when platforming
83. Buzz Blobs should be a bit higher. Spamming them is very effective
If you’re not pressed for time, the old bed works fine, especially if you do the speed up trick if you’re just impatient
2. Cloud is absurdly too high. You get it way too late, and there’s so many equal or better options by then. I never used it outside of that one still area.
Way too high and that I don’t think I used once:
70. Ice block
69. Goo Spector (though I respect your rationale)
65. Hoarder
64. Giant Goponga Flower
57. Temper Tweelus (though again I respect your rationale)
53. Poe
41. Beamos
32. Gustmaster
25. Pathblade
16. Carrot (I got the horse early and barely used it)
Wow. I use the decorative shrub to get high ALL THE TIME. I wonder what better hack people have found for it.
Spiked roller was key for me getting the Lv3 Moblin Warrior. I think they’re pretty good.
dafuq my boy, decorative shrub & tiles are amazing
Oi no sea urchin slander it's good at being dropped right on top of enemies
Right, if only multiple other echoes could do that too…
@@Ryan64yt not in water. That thing was how i got the shark. Also can't recall much other Echoes that do immediate contact damage
By the way, the rock roast isn't completely useless, it can attract the tweelus enemies. I haven't tested, but you might be able to "walk" across lava with it
I put text on the screen saying that it can attract tweelus, that was my mistake. But even so it wouldn’t be any higher
Sea Urchant is a lot more powerful if you bind it, as you can just move it into enemies.
It's fun that the two worst echoes on this list are the ones that make the speedrun possible.
Right?? Swear this happens with every Zelda game too
