So, I just assumed the actor in the show was also just using some cinema magic. Fast-forward to a surprisingly recent time as of now, and only now I find out that the guy who played Sportacus was not only the man behind the entire show, but also a phenomenal athlete! BTW in Icelandic he is called Íþróttaálfurinn which means the Sports Elf, and he was indeed the Gigachad sports elf. You can even meet him as he owns a restaurant in the capital downtown.
2:31 Allegedy, Sportacus was supposed to be played by someone else, Magnús playing him wasn't the original plan. Which I'm glad didn't happen, because those Lazytown plays without Magnús as Sportacus... It's cursed guys.
Oh god no.. Dont get me wrong, I love Magnus and used to work for him in 2000 when the look of Lazy Town was being developed for a TV pitch. He is a powerhouse of fitness and willpower.. But my dude already tried playing a bad guy in a Jackie Chan movie and it was terrible.. He is not a good actor as anything other than Sportacus, because he IS sportacus and sportacus is him. I love this. Remember when I was a kid, we used to play and act like the characters from Lazy Town. Such a huge inspiration. Really a reminder of how we are a product of the things we are exposed to, even from a really young age, where cliches like "will power" and "just do it" are not really relevant. So, I just assumed the actor in the show was also just using some cinema magic.
Fast-forward to a surprisingly recent time as of now, and only now I find out that the guy who played Sportacus was not only the man behind the entire show, but also a phenomenal athlete!
