I like the smooth way the interviewer handled the left handed hand shake at the end. Impressed.

I will always love historical gaming over fantasy and sci-fi for the very reason that there is always a little bit of "drinking" involved. I play all three, but fantasy and sci-fi gamers always are focused on play to win, whereas historical gamers play games where the outcome is usually already have been pre-determined by whoever had the "firstest to the mostest" and the discussion after the game with a little "drinking" involved with people who are as passionate about history as you are as much part of the experience as playing the game.

We've been known to sneak in the occasional sci-fi or fantasy game at the club, but I have to agree that something about historicals encourages great conversation about the background and context of the game. And we find drinking always helps....

LOL, you played with the wrong people apparently. When I played 40k I rarely did not have a drink in my hand, one of my buddies would have to play smaller games, or else he would be to drunk before it was over, another I only got games in when he had a DD, and one of my brother in law's friends preffers playing at his own place to solve the getting home issue.

    First!
(Not a proper TH-cam channel without empty comments like this)
If I had to take a stab at the lack of American market for 6mm is the relative lack of huge scale battles in line/block formation. We have the Civil War and the Revolution but, that is the extent of our 'Napoleonic scale battles' whereas Europe has centuries of these large scale periods, Hundred Years War to Waterloo.

Hmm I can see that. I guess that Charles S. Roberts and James Dunnigan are contributing factor. When you have a few major companies in America churning out much cheaper board wargames then dropping more money and effort on miniatures means you might as well go all the way.

Rather surprised the Perry’s didn’t mention their 8mm Travel Battle Napoleonic figures, terrain and baseboard in a box when asked about their involvement with small scale figures.
Maybe 6mm is not as popular in the US as the UK, but the US does have some really good 10mm manufacturers, such as Good Ground and Old Glory.

    Jealous ‼️
I live in the U.K. and have only just seen them across a Napoleonic game
Now then, for my next history lesson I'll start with a good Malt Whiskey...cheers

When you're doing a video, and most importantly an interview, don't chew gum.
