I went for the condensed version - I already have the ESV Study Bible as my main study bible but I wanted a portable bible with some doctrinally sound helpful study notes. The Reformation Study Bible condensed fulfills that need. Great video! 👍🙏
Thanks so much for watching, I hope it helped you in making the right decision. I think no matter which Bible you went with you would have been happy.
this was super helpful im a beginer and want to learn more so I went with the ESV Reformation Study Bible, student edition.
I have the regular "behemoth" Reformation study bible.Fantastic.
Will see me out.One criticism-the font of study notes below the ESV text is challenging.I use a magnifier."Blessed are the eyes that see." Luke10:23.
I really appreciate this video! I currently have a MacArthur NASB95 SB, Inductive NASB SB and Tony Evans CSB (my first SB). I have been trying to narrow my decision on a Reformation SB for a while, but couldn't decide which one I wanted. I'm going to pull the trigger on the full version after this great comparison. Thank you!
So glad you found it helpful. You won't regret the full version at all. After giving away one, I am considering getting one myself.
@@PastorJeremyCollins One question I can't seem to find an answer to is, what's the difference between the 2015 & 2019 ESV RSB?
@@beardedbeliever.N5TXP great question, let me do some research and get back to you.
Finally got all three love them all
GREAT REVIEW!!!!!!!!
Got NKJV reformation, esv 1st edition , and condensed ( for travel)....great Bibles!!😄
Thanks for the recommendation I'm going to choose the big boy and it might be by a smaller one
Is the student edition highlight friendly? I got the student edition even though I’m not a student I am a baby Christian.
I would recommend the Bible specific highlighters you can get. I have a set that are similar to crayons and they are much better than ink highlighters. They also don’t fade like ink ones do.
@@anchorandlanterncool, thanks
So if I have none of these, should I just go ahead and get the regular Ref. Study Bible? It seems to have the best overall features, even if it's ginormous! haha. I already have the MacArthur Study Bible which I love, but I was looking to see RC's notes too. Plus, the Ref. SB has all those other documents at the back such as the catechisms and such. Someone help!
I would get the big boy, it has everything. You won’t be disappointed
I wish they would offer a double column text like the original Reformation Study Bible. My eyes have trouble tracking that wide single column. And with tendonitis, the big edition is just way too heavy, but that's the one I have. I'd get the student edition if it had double column.
I have all three versions of the Reformation Study Bible.
Which is your favorite?
I wouldn't mind a little thicker bible with larger font. I'm getting old. 😭😭
I hear that. There are good large print options, but not any that I see of the reformation study Bible. You. Can get an ESV Study Bible in Large Print.
I would like a study Bible with all the commentary from every collection of the publisher in one Bible, weight and thickness aren’t an issue. If it turns out to be 300lbs and 5 feet wide, I’ll still carry it everywhere I go
I would love to see that
Now I have a question. Are the premium versions of these bibles worth it or should I stick to the imitation leather versions?
Great question.
This is a Bible you will have for a long time, it will always be used because of it's unique reformed view.
There is something so nice about holding a premium Bible.
And if you think about how much it actually is $100-$200 is not really that much when it's something you will use hopefully every day the rest of your life.
@@PastorJeremyCollins thanks for the reply. I will definitely look into it.
New sub! Great video 😊
Thank you so much.
I have the condensed and the student version
Nice, how do you like them? Which do you find yourself using more?
@@PastorJeremyCollins I like them both but I think the condensed version is the one I use the most
@@petermuchko sweet. Been thinking about adding the condensed to my library, haven't done it yet tho.
@@PastorJeremyCollins the condensed version is just right size to be able to take with you so that's what I like about it
@@petermuchko yep, I don't take my study Bibles with me. Usually it's my LSB single column that I take around.
Does the Reformation Study Bible teach Postmillennialism, Premillennialism or Amillennialism? Just wondering.
I haven’t gone through the study notes in revelation closely enough, may take the time to do that.
The Orthodox study Bible is the best
Does the Student Edition contain the excerpts from JI Packers's Concise Theology?
not sure, let me check

Which bible are you talking about
The ESV Reformation Study Bible, 3 different editions, Student, Full, and condensed
I have a partial preterist/post-mill view of eschatology. Does this bible reflect that view or does it still lean towards dispensational pre-mill?
Ref stud bible is leaning partial preterist but does not explicitly say so as compared to the dispy premil stance of Johnny Mac SB. ESV SB tries to present a balanced view of all the dominant views on eschatology but does not take a position at all. Hope this helps.
