This was the scene that made me love Lightning as a character. I know, I know, it's weird. But somehow, hearing her say "Worst birthday ever" made her a whole lot more human. Before then, I'd seen her as this cold, too-cool-for-you character with not much humanity. But then, we get this sad, very human moment with her (not to mention the subsequent moments with Hope, where she reveals even more of her character). And from then on I loved her!
I'm just amused by the fact that Lightning lives in a house. I never thought about it, but I guess she's gotta live somewhere lolol. "Get out of my house." xD

I will agree that there are a few instances where her cast mates shake their heads at her attitude, but it never once hampers her. She's never abandoned, never without the aid of her fellow rebels, or really left with the opportunity to really look at herself. It's more bad writing than anything else.

I do get what you're saying, she's not my favorite character, in this specific game I much more prefer Fang, but she's not as horrible of a character as you're painting her to be. Yes, she has a flaw. Everyone has one. The whole game is about her attempt to overcome that flaw, for god's sake.

The L'Cie thing happened because Serah entered the Bodhum Vestige on her own accord due to her fascination with history. And it wasn't known yet that a Fal'Cie lived within it, so she had no idea it was dangerous in that regard. Serah becoming a L'Cie had nothing to do with Snow. But when Serah finally told him, he refused to break up with her just for that and promised to stand with her. Plus, Snow was spending time with Serah when Lightning wasn't, so pushing him away from her would've just resulted in Serah being lonely again and having to start over. Snow did love her, and Serah loved him.
+Claire Farron She thought that by Serah faking herself to be L'Cie, Lightning would disown her so Serah can just leave with Snow. But of course, that's not the case here.
Serah should've told both Snow and Lightning at the same. Instead, Serah undermines her sister's trust as if to say "I give a give about my older sister working her ass off to keep me supported."
