I love Caius's voice actor. Liam O'Brien has the coolest voice ever! I fell in love with the character of Akihiko Sanada in persona, and Liam O'Brien's voice acting was one of the biggest reasons!
But that makes completely sense. If you change something in the future the events of the past inevitably change as well. Its not only the past changes that alter the future is also vice versa. If you study the theory of Einstein you will understand that.
I remember the first time I fought this battle. Got my ass handed to me and when I saw the Game Over screen I said out loud "Was I supposed to win this?". He was also the hardest final boss I had fought in a very long time.
In Warcraft III and Frozen Throne, Illidan is voiced by Matthew Yang King, but in WoW, the burning crusade, and from thereon, it's Liam O'Brien (the guy in this video). Although guess few have seen the movie, and he has very few lines in it, Liam O'Brien is also the voice of Red XIII in the Final Fantasy: Advent Children movie.
I love Caius. He's the most epic villain of all FF games. Even better than Sephiroth. And btw Caius is one of my favourite characters. ^-^ ...And that voice is fitting him so well. :o ♥
Kikyo Dono Not that its hard to be a better villain than Sephiroth. Honestly, he is easily one of, if not the, most bland antagonists in the entirety of Final Fantasy. Even Garlond from FF1 beats him, and only by virtue of the temporal paradox nonsense Garlond was messimg sround with.
The Fallen Moon I heavily disagree. Sephiroth's character design looks like it was taken straight from the anime edition of "Villain Clichés You Must Avoid", his voice is a drawling monotone, and his motives basically boil down to "Mommy told me to". I am very hard pressed to think of an FF villain more boring and stale than Sephiroth.
There needs to be an episode where you can play as Caius. Seriously it would be so much fun! It's like Yeul is kidnapped by either C'eith or Flan in which they are of really high levels and Caius hunts down the vermin and finds the leader. It would be an awesome DLC!
think of Caius as the "one who is not that evil". Nevertheless he does not care about anyone else dying just to achieve his goal and that is pretty evil. Caius is a more human character and that's what makes him a good ("great") character either.
BossManager IKR! It would make more sense for this game since sora/riku are sorta travelling through dreams and changing some things, sorta like how sera and noel were going through time. IDK square could've made him into some nightmare that prevents people from changing the state of the sleeping worlds. That would be kickass imo.
Residenteviladicted wow! I never thought of it like that. A third party to preserve the neutral state of the worlds. He could oppose both sora/riku and Xehanort! Whatever Etro's will would be. Phenominal!
Apply Schrodinger's cat to perception of past events. Then you understand why changing future changes past. Alyssa mentions this in the Bresha Ruins. Also, the paradoxes affects past and future. (ie. The paradox that messed Oerba 200AF was the same one that caused Fenrir's appearance at Yaschas Massif in the past). Solving it creates an alternate timeline. There are objects that allow one to see the future from the past such as The Oracle Drive. Changing the future would change the vision seen.
@murrowboy depends on ones perspective. He belives that the ends of what he does justifies the means. Although, the means is basicly destroying the world. He "respected" Lightning becuase he has no reason to fear defeat. He is immortal.
Oh right, I thought it was because when you have watched an anime or something for so long you can instantly tell someone elses voice from a game or anime, or film or anything.
since he saw all those yeuls die at a young age, even though they come back, caius couldn't bring himself to believe that Yeul always wanted to come back and stay with him but he didn't believe Noel after he told caius about yeul coming back. BUT! since he destroyed timed and made valhalla appear in the real world, Caius didn't came back and Yeul didn't either so Caius's Belief was a Failure.
Can anybody tell me exactly what paradigms he was using against Caius? I need some help, if you can't help me with that, then can you give me an idea of what strategy to use? Thanks
Interesting how many people write about Sephiroth and Caius in all that Caius videos. And interesting how many think Caius - who is definitely very powerful - could beat Sephiroth, the man who is made to have a will stronger than anyone's, whose magic is stronger than anyone's, who is an incomparably good swordsman and who also has some incredible abilities and I don't mean his power to come back alone, his only weakness is his arrogance. But I don't hate Caius. He is rank 3 in my villain list.
yeah its weird, destroying everything that caius killed himself by tricking noel who model him in his life all for one girl who kept dying and wanting to coming by getting the eternal life, dying over again and reborn again.
No! I DO NOT get the significance of that, Caius! I mean, other than the obvious she's watching all your moves... was Caius implying Yeul's lifespan which was the reason of Noel's gasping?
Not only that, Time itself is non-linear and only living things percieve it as linear. (Doctor Who's quote on wibbley-wobbly stuff). In this universe, the Past events must match up to the future. Its like a simple equation. 1+1=2. If that 2 is changed into a 3, you'd have to change some things on the left too, right? This also has some real life basis: Apparantly there is an scientific article that postulates that future events do affect the past. It all about Quantum Theory. :P
his voice actor is the same who dubbed Grimmoire Weiss from Nier...so cool ! for those who are having problems facing him, just debuff him, buff your team and then...attack until he gets staggered... one paradigm with syn, sab, med and another with com, rav, med or com, rav, com should end the fight...
Ok so is he a good guy or not? Judging by his respect for ilghtning in the intro, (I didn't play the game yet) I thought he'd be one of those characters that turn good later.. Or was misunderstood from the beginning.. Who knows...
That still sounds contradicting. The future is constantly made through the actions of the past, like a building being constructed from ground up. If you destroy the future, the top of the building, it's still standing at the foundation. But if you destroy the foundation, the past, then the future collapses. The past can live without future by making its own, but the future can't exist without past.
you would have to think more in depth than that. First of all lets us state the facts that we know of; 1.Yeul can see the future as a seeress 2. so in this sense itself, the future has already been decided 3.Yeul has a limit on how many visions that she can See, with each vision taking a toll on her lifeapan. 4. Each time the future is changed, she is forced to see a new vision thus reducing her lifespan. 5. She dies earlier due to the future keep changing and thus affecting the past 5. The past is affected thus creating a new timestream 6. A new Yeul is forced to reincarnate when she dies thus affecting the timestream again. 7. The cycle keeps repeating itself. You can technically say Noel and Serah are the ones that keep killing Yeul over and over again and that in an indirect manner they are the ones that caused the unseen chaos. To a certain extend, Noel and Serah are the antagonists to Caius himself actually lol
He is no good guy and it has nothing to do with someone's perspective. He has some deep and human thoughts which make him a character to think of "he is not that evil", but the point is he wants to destroy every single existence just to release Yeul and his own suffering when he sees her dying all the time. So he is a bad guy. You don't need to destroy everything without purpose to be evil. Technically most of the Final Fantasy villains don't and they still are evil. But I understand why people
Yeah, tried to link you the video but I keep getting an error. Search: World Of Warcraft Cataclysm - Well Of Eternity Heroic (4.3 PTR) and look from 00:33 onwards
i strongly agree Hes a Strong Ass Boss But if you use jinx deshellga or Poisonga as soon as hes Fully staggered Poison him because if you dont He'll use body and soul to Replenish all of his Health and then he Becomes even More Strong
Its a metaphor. If you change the future your rendering the past irrelevant in a way as If it never happened at all. basically he is saying by, Sarah's is destroying the past with her ability to alter time itself.

Liam O' Brien is a beast of a voice actor
PREACH
This is why I choose Caius Ballad as my favorite villain. Liam O'Brian also voiced Infinite from Sonic Forces.
Justin Seang and Grimoire Weiss from NieR (which was a magnificent performance)
Be is also garra
@@monkeydjimmy5169 Oh yeah, I know
I love Caius's voice actor. Liam O'Brien has the coolest voice ever!
I fell in love with the character of Akihiko Sanada in persona, and Liam O'Brien's voice acting was one of the biggest reasons!
Gaara Is Pretty Good
"If you change the future, you change the past"
Goddamn Final Fantasy logic. What's next?
"If you fly down, you fall up"
But that makes completely sense. If you change something in the future the events of the past inevitably change as well. Its not only the past changes that alter the future is also vice versa. If you study the theory of Einstein you will understand that.
This boss made me realize I suck at this game.
Still can't beat him...
I hope they have Liam O'brien voice a character in the next FF. He makes Caius sound so awesome, I know he can do that to another character.
I remember the first time I fought this battle. Got my ass handed to me and when I saw the Game Over screen I said out loud "Was I supposed to win this?".
He was also the hardest final boss I had fought in a very long time.
I really like this game lol
I replayed it sooo many times just to watch the cutscenes over and over lol I love it
I wish i appreciated Cauis as much as i do now when i was first playing this years ago. He's such a bad ass
God,I love Caius ❤ he's my favorite villain and he's so attractive!
My too !!! I love Caius!
TRUTH
My GOD, CAIUS? STOP BEING SO FREAKING AWESOME!!!!
Caius theme! Great music!!
damn you caius! why do you make me watch these videos again and again?!
I love Caius. He's the most epic villain of all FF games. Even better than Sephiroth. And btw Caius is one of my favourite characters. ^-^
...And that voice is fitting him so well. :o ♥
caius eyes don't glow with the overwhelming power of mako
Kikyo Dono Not that its hard to be a better villain than Sephiroth. Honestly, he is easily one of, if not the, most bland antagonists in the entirety of Final Fantasy. Even Garlond from FF1 beats him, and only by virtue of the temporal paradox nonsense Garlond was messimg sround with.
The Highwayman Sephiroth is probably the best. Caius was class tho.
The Highwayman Pretty sure these “cliches” weren’t really cliches then. Even still he is the most popular
There needs to be an episode where you can play as Caius. Seriously it would be so much fun! It's like Yeul is kidnapped by either C'eith or Flan in which they are of really high levels and Caius hunts down the vermin and finds the leader. It would be an awesome DLC!
I was hard to beat at the end wasn't I?
...
think of Caius as the "one who is not that evil". Nevertheless he does not care about anyone else dying just to achieve his goal and that is pretty evil. Caius is a more human character and that's what makes him a good ("great") character either.
I can't wait to get there, Caius is the main reason I have the game. I wanna experience him.
Caius' voice is awesome. Incredible job Liam O'Brien did there.
He's one of the best villain voices today.
my name is Caius, lol and i love final fantasy, coincidence?
*Nod* yes.
2:37 his voice is just amazing! with the music, what a cutcene and a villain
When I hear his Caius's voice, I can only think of Kain from FFIV/Dissidia. =A= xD
Dat voice is so.. cool. ;3;
I will never tire of attempting a Caius impression. Never.
This is the first final fantasy game I ever played. And I loved it
I just realised that Caius sounds in some point like Illidan from Warcraft III. :P
+Kostas Kavourinos Also from The Burning Crusade. They are dubbed by the same person, Mr. O'Brien
Alwarin1 I didn't knew that omg!!!!Thanks!!
And Gaara from Naruto
This is the first time I've seen a villain and a badass at the time
Why the hell did square NOT make him the secret boss in KH3D? It would've been amazing. That Pete secret boss was terrible.
Ugh, that was such a missed oppourtunity. Perhaps in KH3?
BossManager IKR! It would make more sense for this game since sora/riku are sorta travelling through dreams and changing some things, sorta like how sera and noel were going through time. IDK square could've made him into some nightmare that prevents people from changing the state of the sleeping worlds. That would be kickass imo.
Residenteviladicted wow! I never thought of it like that. A third party to preserve the neutral state of the worlds. He could oppose both sora/riku and Xehanort! Whatever Etro's will would be. Phenominal!
Ok... what is pinky piedoing on the related videos column!? Damn pinky, screwing with the 4th wall again
He is VA for Kain in DS version. Yeah, epic voice.
I've been stuck on this for six god DAMN months
@ProfessorxSpecter i suppose your right. i mean isn't liam the only voice actor to voice more than two ff characters? (caius, kain, red xiii)
@murrowboy
One thing to remember is that not every Caius you encounter is a time traveller. Some of tham are the Caius of that present.
I like how Ciaus is still Evil but still the one who is trying to protect the future (usually for yeul)
Yep, he is Caius Ballad. He is also the voice of Illidan Stormrage in World of Warcraft.
Retrocasuality has also been observed in the Double Slit experiment.
Liam O Brien
Apply Schrodinger's cat to perception of past events. Then you understand why changing future changes past. Alyssa mentions this in the Bresha Ruins.

stop!
*looks back.....continues reaching*
Wish I could remember what I did back then but after multiple attempts with this boss I somehow defeated him in 4 seconds
caius's voice sound so familiar to me i googled his voice actor. His voice actor played ukitake in bleach.
5:41
This shot reminds me of Advent Children when Sephiroth stabs Cloud on the shoulder
Why the hell does Akihiko have soul edge?
not fair this dude got the soul edge from soul cailibur lol.............. another note this is the voice actor for Ziggy in xenosaga the android
Wait a minute... this guy... this is Lezard Valeth! No wonder his voice is awesome.
Caius definitely has the most epic voice in this game.
@Eriqzzzz basically. Before he becomes a villain, who is the one that can time travel.
@Flygonair Everytime I heard him talk I thought the same, turns out Liam O'Brien is the voice actor for both Caius and Illidan :D
You are not prepared!
@Cainleer with that being said, after looking at this cutscene for the upteenth time on youtube, is this caius of that present?
The music of this is fuckin great
Oh right, I thought it was because when you have watched an anime or something for so long you can instantly tell someone elses voice from a game or anime, or film or anything.
Akihiko in Persona 3 too
Of course, he is voiced by Gaara's English Voice Actor, No wonder its epic :D
The panic when they try to add Caius to Dissidia and they find that Kain already has his Voice.
Also, Illidan. :D
For those who think he doesnt have a deep enough VA... Seriously, look at Cauis..shes, i mean hes lucky he got Liam as VA.
Wow, the guy who does the voice of Gaara is in this too?
Caius, Kain, Leon, and Richard are soo alike. Final Fantasy loves Dragoons!
Such a good theme.
After I wrote that I killed him!! Haha!! Only took me about 40 attempts!!
Lee Nicol Yeah it helped debuffing him and strengthening my own party with syn
just shows that perseverance does pay off!
since he saw all those yeuls die at a young age, even though they come back, caius couldn't bring himself to believe that Yeul always wanted to come back and stay with him but he didn't believe Noel after he told caius about yeul coming back. BUT! since he destroyed timed and made valhalla appear in the real world, Caius didn't came back and Yeul didn't either so Caius's Belief was a Failure.
i want to play this so badly plz tell me where can i find it T-T
I don't know... my Warcraft III play was not that long to see Illidan :S
Can anybody tell me exactly what paradigms he was using against Caius? I need some help, if you can't help me with that, then can you give me an idea of what strategy to use? Thanks
kain long time no see
@xzmkx How about the nearest store? This is a new game..
I can't take Liam O'Brien very seriously after hearing him voice Cumore in Tales of Vesperia XD
Interesting how many people write about Sephiroth and Caius in all that Caius videos. But I don't hate Caius. He is rank 3 in my villain list.
I've finally found a likable villain in the final fantasy series.
-squeels- i love when caius talks, i love Laim O'Brian so much he's the best actor :3
yeah its weird, destroying everything that caius killed himself by tricking noel who model him in his life all for one girl who kept dying and wanting to coming by getting the eternal life, dying over again and reborn again.

Hearing Caius talk after playing Nier is kinda... creepy.
I defy anyone to say that they don't love Caius' voice
Very few people remember that villain! Good thing some people like you remember him :)
Also, how do you switch the beasts during combat?
how are you doing it?
You are not Prepared!!
Omg- What have you doooooneeeee
Ok so is he a good guy or not?
Judging by his respect for ilghtning in the intro, (I didn't play the game yet) I thought he'd be one of those characters that turn good later.. Or was misunderstood from the beginning.. Who knows...

what is Melodrama
Swap him and Illidan Stormrage with the game they are in.
Yeah, tried to link you the video but I keep getting an error. Search: World Of Warcraft Cataclysm - Well Of Eternity Heroic (4.3 PTR) and look from 00:33 onwards

I'm at this part btw How do I get this spell
Just make one of your party a medic, it slashes your dps in half but you are nigh invincible.
Does anyone know that's the voice of gaara from naruto xD
Its a metaphor.

i wonder how long square is gonna let this fly, lol
gotta say liam did great with caius
Caius Ballad is such a badass!
Had fun with this one, took me 4 tries
Of course,he's the legendary Liam O'Brien.
Damn I must be really under leveled
@CrimsonVermillioneye Indeed
