Great video. Have you ever come across a problem with the Simms Injector Pump where the shaft which controls the fuel cutoff does not return to the open position. On my 465, I have to open my inspection port and move it manually in order to start the tractor. I am terrified about removing the pump now after what you said about resetting the timing!

@@johnbiggins2948 I think he’s trying to ask do the cylinder liners crack on 384’s’ and is there a way to stop them 🤔 I think the problems started when the bores were over sized & became very close to each other also caused trouble with the head gaskets

Thank you! On the front of the pump it looks like a rubber star shock absorber, is that what it is? Harder than rubber I'm sure
Just a flexible drive, I wouldn't say its a shock absorber as later tractors had the timing gear mounted directly on the pump shaft.

Yes same applies to the 10/42 and other Nuffield’s/Leylands with the Minimec pump

Have you checked there is oil in the injector pump housing?
