Anyone that can dismantle and rebuild a machine that's ⅔ the height of the average man and weighs as much as a car can do just about anything in the mechanical world! You're a marvel Warren, a true marvel!
Total respect mate, you not one friend shying away from the tough or awkward jobs! Just the thought of pulling that transmission down gives me feelings of dread! At going to be cheap or easy!
On rebuilding a large $$$ job like this, do you or have you, showed the tractor owner the actual damaged/defective parts to put them (owner bill payer) at ease ? this size of job appears to be 10 hrs teardown 20 hour rebuild to do a $100.00 part replace.
Think about how much surface area is present on those those clutch packs. That's some serious torque holding capacity. Speed sensor monitors an reluctor ring. Sure we all like our nomenclature ;-) As soon as you split the case is the exact moment I would be like wth did I get myself into this time? LOL
Cool stuff dude. I've never done any farm equipment work before. I was curious how some of that stuff is built though. The inside is alot like a Honda Automatic trans in street cars. Just a whole lot bigger. And many more shaft assemblies. I did pick up some tips from you that I can use on other manual trans, transfer case and rear end builds i do. Thanks.
When you don’t want the tip of the posi-lock bearing puller to damage a threaded hole. Just use a bolt that will fit in the hole loose but with a head larger then the hole.
If the owner decides to give the tractor more horsepower, should the system pressure also be increased ? (so the clutchplates will pressed more together)
+Paul de Blok I have hopped up horse power on some older tractors, never have messed with system pressure on transmission, trust me there is plenty of holding power on those clutch packs.
I can send you some pictures just need contact info . My email is nackynack1@gmail.com I’m not using them anymore they have served me well over the years

Mabey hang the portable press from the overhead crane would be an idea.

Thank you
You are a fricken machine. I bet people are standing in line to be your friend. Good job!!!!
That cordless impact has amazing jam to it.
nice 8200 bonus at the end there, thanks for sharing.
Good job mate your a hard worker love your bearing puller set up I'm going to copy that big thumbs up my friend
allan mitchell Thank you, I have to use this style puller, because most of the large gears won't fit through opening in my press.

If you don't have an endorsement deal with a hand soap company, you're missing out on a gold mine.

The center threaded hole is for a lifting eye bolt to pull/pick up shaft assembly
They are not threaded .
Watch my fingers lol ! Great video like a rubix cube lol! Nice job my friend
Good vid Warren…..again.

@ 10:00 - good old fashioned power balance test
Is that a 15 speed powershift similar to the big rubber tire tractors?
These are 16 speed powershifts . They are set up quite a bit different than the older 15 speeds .
John Deere does own funk
John McLaurin That is correct.
I have some large bearing separators and 3 jaw pullers that I don’t use anymore if your interested
Black Smoke Really?

Should get one of those 20 ton harbor freight air over hydraulic jacks
Not a bad idea, except you loose any feedback. At least with the bottle jacks you get an idea when something is binding.
Is there any job you wish you hadn't started Warren lol
Não tem em português?
Did you buy that tool?
Noel Hohberger The bearing spreader I bought, but the 3/4" all thread and plate on top I made
grease monkey101 of very nice. I just remember you say something about maybe getting something from Deere
