  • In this series we have the difficulty set to Insane/Nightmare. Daylight length is set to 16 hours, so nights end at 6 AM rather than 4 AM. The Blood Moon Warning is disabled, Hordes also contain a maximum of 64 Enemies, and they happen on a randomized frequency ranging from every day to every 7 days; Loot Abundance is set to 25%, Zombie Block Damage is set to 150% at all times, and we have Loot Respawn disabled with an Air Drop occurring every 3 days. I must switch the biome that I inhabit every 7 days, but I am allowed to switch back to the previously inhabited biome - and base - after spending a week in another.

Word of the Day: Reprieve - The suspension or cancellation of someone's punishment or pain.
Health Cookie #21: Prayer is a very divisive topic. Some believe prayer is a means by which you can magnify your thoughts and intentions toward an outcome, and gradually conjure that outcome over time via manifestation. Others believe prayer is a literal means of communication with an omnipotent universal consciousness that listens to you, connects with you and provides for you whenever you ask it sincerely and humbly for guidance, assistance and direction. Neuroscientist Andrew Huberman once correlated the act of exercise to that of prayer; If you want to build muscle then you exercise, and over time, the act of exercising gradually builds your muscles. Similarly, if you want to build better life circumstances for yourself then you pray, and over time, that act of prayer gradually reinforces your direction and propels you toward creating that better life for yourself.
Whether or not that better life is an outcome of your own conscious design, or a blessing from God, that is all up for healthy discussion. What is not debatable and cannot be refuted is the power of focused thinking patterns, which serve as wind in the sails of your life, providing propulsion toward your acquisition of the circumstances you really want. You are capable of being the architect and arbiter of your own destiny, capable of raising yourself out of perdition, every successful individual knows this to be true. You can choose to believe, cynically, that the world is nothing more than a barless prison within which we are all trapped with no possibility of recourse nor redemption. You can choose to believe, nihilistically, that there is no magic, no meaning, no possibility for underdogs to rise above their current station, and that luck is the only means through which the downtrodden can ever conquer the adversities thrust upon them. But if you harbor those beliefs, then you will always feel imprisoned by destiny, and trapped in worldly circumstances that seem irredeemable and inevitably beyond your control. So why on Earth would you resign yourself to such beliefs? If you never take the reins, because you don't believe you have the power to do so, then you'll always just go wherever the carriage takes you, good or bad. You need to take control, in order to have it.
There are only two real possibilities here: Either your mind is extraordinarily powerful, and you can conjure realities and outcomes just by focusing hard on what you want, or, God exists, and he helps those who consistently ask for help and confide in Him. The only certainty resting beyond the shadow of a doubt is that prayer and meditation - the act of focused thought - definitely works. It's not a hotline, you may pray for something today and only see it manifest itself in a few days, weeks, maybe even a few months or years from now. But your muscles don't instantly appear after you exercise, either - they take time to form, it takes effort and consistence for the act of exercising to manifest into the healthier body you truly want to have, and the same can be said about the ability of prayer to metamorphose your perception and your lot in life - it takes time, effort and consistence. Believe to receive, right? If you believe in nothing special then you'll never receive anything special, and this principle constitutes the inevitable downfall of those with poor belief systems. Believing there is nothing special means you will aspire toward - and subsequently achieve - nothing special. But if you believe you can achieve, then you inevitably will, and time will be the only obstacle between you and your wildest dreams.
